Drunvalo in his latest (and mentioned prior to that at well) suggests that (allegedly) due to several "earth change" factors attributed to the space in the universe our galaxy is starting to traverse ... there is a layer of normally solid substance that connects the crust of the planet to that which is beneath that starts to liquify.

We have overwhelming no-brainer scientific evidence of the *magnetic* poles shifting ... at an ever increasing rate.

At some point (the theory goes) when that liquidifaction happens then Gaia will align her magnetic north with the true north axis.

What all happens if this occurs is open to speculation of course ... but this has happened a number of times not only on this planet but others in the galaxy as well.

We survived (or at worse were started anew).

I have a telescope and if something as large as a small moon is anywhere near the earth I'll spot it. This would be something even Nasa cant hide..too many amateur astronomers like myself. i watched the sky the 2nd of Jan and seen nothing new.."i was looking for that object posted here like a gigantic UFO near Jupiter-Mars"
Something else to ponder it doesnt mean a planet from out solar system..if a huge comet hit say a moon on Jupiter it could knock it out of its orbit and send say Io rushing towards the vicinity of the earth. Their was a huge commit that hit Jupiter in 1996 the Shoemaker comet. If that thing hit the earth it would all be over here..or some say if it hit a moon it could easily knock it out of a planets orbit. Around November the earth and Jupiter will align..and if a comet hits a moon on Jupiter then it could by December 2012 send that moon right towards us. thats just one of my theories.

In the 1950s, Hapgood developed a theory called Earth Crust Displacement (ECD) which could account the shift, and yet not contradict the theory of continental drift. The basic notion of ECD is that the earth’s lithosphere, although composed of individual plates, can at times move as a whole over the asthenosphere. Applying the correct degree of energetic force to the entire framework of plates would cause them all to slide over the more gelatinous magma below.

Hapgood believed that last ice age ended around 12,000 years ago when the mass of glacial ice covering the northern continents caused the lithosphere to ‘slip’ over the asthenosphere, moving Antarctica. He posited that the event occurred over just several centuries. Antarctica’s movement to the polar region caused the development of its ice cap. Similarly, the end of the ice age was facilitated by shifting the northern ice sheets out of the arctic zone.

Support for this theory was given in a forward by Albert Einstein to one of Hapgood’s books in 1953:

In a polar region there is continual deposition of ice, which is not symmetrically distributed about the pole. The earth’s rotation acts on these unsymmetrically deposited masses, and produces centrifugal momentum that is transmitted to the rigid crust of the earth. The constantly increasing centrifugal momentum produced in this way will, when it has reached a certain point, produce a movement of the earth’s crust over the rest of the earth’s body... (Hapgood, 1958, p. 1)

It has been often claimed evidence for the shift has been found in the form of animals suited to temperate zones being found fast frozen in ice blocks.

The researcher Graham Hancock states that findings from Admiral Byrds explorations showed rivers had flowed in Antarctica as late as 5000BC. Physical evidence of this flowing water means that we are wrong about the history of the continent in some manner at least.Recent discoveries of under ice mountain ranges on the continent also strongly suggest we have misunderstood the geological history of the region as these would have been carved out by movement not by a fairly static cover of snowfall frozen to permafrost.

Of course the theory and the maps on which it is largely based remain open to interpretation. Many researchers do not agree with the model as proposed by Hapgood. We can’t exactly just ask the map makers what they were depicting and whether they just drew additional lands based on hearsay.

This is a very in depth subject with scholarly debate going well beyond the scope of this article. Suffice to say the theory is not accepted generally by relevant scientific bodies. There is evidence for and against, but currently those against are in a strong position as the onus of evidence provision is on those with new radical theories.

As to whether there can be slips of the entire crust I would err on the side of maybe. Have they happened before, perhaps so. Will one occur around 21-12-2012

Imagine the scenarios of chaos, if the majority are unawares and everything goes black and no electricity. People will be "caught with their pants down" -so to speak.

People will die from fear because they won't know how long it is going to last, and ~72 hours(30 hours) will seem like an eternity.

PS I don't know if we can know beforehand if this is really going to happen.....Doubt it will be broadcast on Fox or CNN.

Generator, fuel for it, candles and a means of protecting yourself from harm if violence arises. Some won't be prepared and will be drawn by the light of the flame on the candle or greed to eat for being unprepared. Try to have a few extras and be charitable with concern for other's life, and perhaps they will be grateful and just leave or share company and food.

So give if you can, and let them understand that is all you have to give. Keep some fishing poles and canned squid or sardines for bait. Most of those who have fear will show up for the comfort of light, so give some candles also. Stock up on some disposable lighters because batteries are costly and go out. Candles can be recycled.
