I LOVE that saying myself.I am my brothers keeper
(Because the answer to "Cain's" question always is: Yes, you ARE. Whether you want it or not.)
Interesting!Chrysalis, metamorphosis. I guess I like words that act like gates, or bridges, between one reality and another. So that with one word a reality can be transcended. I remember when I first heard the word 'catalyst' in chemistry classes. The concept of two coexisting substances needing a third to cause them to interact, sometimes violently, was a minor revelation to me.
I had the same reaction (referring to the "minor revelation"), now that I think of it.
And I LOVE the word chrysalis.
In fact, I also like every word that starts with CH.
Which brings me to one of my favourite English words of all time: CHRYSANTHEMUM.
Ah, it's gorgeous....
Why am I not surprised?Posted by RMorgan (here)
Well, my favorite word is "saudade". There´s no proper translation to this word, which is Portuguese, to English.
If translated, it would be something like "I miss you", with a big tone of hope.
(No, really - I am asking myself. :-))
I think you might want to see Ellisa's post, and my reply to her. :-)
