    Default Surviving 2012

Quote A quick overview of the Top Ten things to consider in preparing for Surviving 2012
    I just found this...thought I'd share...

"Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle." Unknown

"Vision without action is merely a dream.
Action without vision just passes the time.
Vision with action can change the world." Joel Arthur Barker

I think the word "survival" has somewhat negative vibe to it. Do I want to survive? No, I don't. I want to live.

    Exactly.
I've always wondered, do people who talk about survival, following some major, global catastrophe, know what they're talking about?
Let's suppose there was such a catastrophe.
Would you WANT to be hiding in some radioactive woods or somewhere underground, fighting off other people and sundry creatures who'd want a piece of whatever you're having (or maybe of yourself), knowing that THAT is going to be your life for the foreseeable future: no more internet, no more pleasant walks in the country, no more going out with your friends for a pizza, no more of practically everything. For years and years and years, possibly for the rest of your life.

    I know I wouldn't.
Not if I am going to die at some point, anyway.

But I don't think we have much to fear.
Not much more than in any usual, run-of-the-mill year on Earth, that is.
    Which is frightful enough.

(And please, don't nitpick about technicalities: you know what I am trying to say, right? :-))
