did you know that "anonomous" has recently declared war on the US government?

What better to "problem" to force the "solution" of clamping down on the internet than that???

we just need a few more actions from "annon" & things like SOPA will seem a JOKE!
Anonymous is already being blamed for things proven false. In Canada on the MSN news website I read an article stating that "Anonymous" had hacked Vic Teows, and spread personal information in retaliation for being a spear-header of the internet censorship proposal for Canada. The next day I read a column in the local newspaper saying that it was a political rival that had done that - with his confession. On another thread here on Avalon we hear of the NSA stating that Anonymous will be responsible for a major power outage in within the next year or two (I wonder by who's crystal ball at the NSA? Is this info possible to know? no. thus it must be some sort of plan), while at the same time NASA is saying we will have power outages in 2013 due to solar flares - which all reminds me of a Hilary C quote (where I believe she was quoting someone else ...) - "Never let a good disaster go to waste!", pin the lie on your government agency - they are getting sloppy in desperation. Prepare for more lies implicating the people who have a chance to make a difference, recognize them, and know better.
Anonymous is a loose conglomerate of hackers from all over the globe that is growing. These disinfo people haven't comprehended yet, that there is no centralised power with Anonymous and that it's more groups of hackers picking themes and/or projects and that the groups are not always of the same people nor all located in one place most of the time. It's what makes it so difficult to capture them so to speak. The police may get a couple of inexperienced and careless people but they have hardly touched what the whole still does, can and has yet to do. That rumor about taking down the power grid was ridiculous and started by government(American) disifo agents who are not very bright, especially since the internet is critical to the work of hackers, so why would they sabotage themselves? the American gov is frustrated and scared because not much is going according to plan not with all these new surprises popping up to distract and divert them. Governments from around the world are now so utterly driven to impose internet censorship laws and these recent Wikileaks are really pissing them off and they really really really want to get Assange now to use as a scab goat for not being able to get to Anonymous and get info from Assange in any way they can before killing him, and they plan to do that and have been trying since he was first apprehended.
So they are just like terrorists, the vast, un-named threat that can never truely be "pinned down", something that can be used to justify "patriot act" style laws?

I'm having trouble not putting very sarcastic remarks in just now, so I'll leave it at that.

Speaking of people who have shown how to be real terrorists instead of the imaginative conjectured kind, didn't I tell ya, here are some real ones for you , the US corporate government is trying to push through censorship legislation as we speak and no doubt this has everything to do with Wikileaks and preventing more truth being posted on the web.

There is so much going on about the internet now this is about the guy credited for inventing the World Wide Web(he actually did) and a trial over a few people wanting to cash in on websites by making them pay for use of the WWW for their websites because he(and a couple of other troll friends) are claimimg to of invented the WWW . Tim Berners-Lee is who invented the WWW and he gave us the web for free so this other guy can't claim patented ownership of it or we hope not anyway. And yes, it's related to Wikileaks and the truth. This is getting crazier and crazier.

2011-03-04 Jennifer Robinson: Brief to Canberra meeting of MP's re Julian Assange

The following brief was submitted to the meeting outlined here by WL Central: On 2nd March 2011 at 9.15am a meeting was held, organised by Andrew Laming (Liberal Party MP Bowman Qld) at Parliament House Canberra to allow federal parliamentarians who wished to attend, some insights into the matters of Julian Assange facing extradition from the UK to Sweden, and facing (subject to that extradition process) a possible trial in Sweden and another possible extradition to the USA thereafter.

Among others, MPs Andrew Laming, Malcolm Turnbull, Doug Cameron and Sarah Hanson-Young were in attendance, along with parliamentary staff members.

Three speakers made themselves available for oral presentations and questions: Greg Barns, barrister from Tasmania; former Australian diplomat Tony Kevin and Peter Kemp solicitor from NSW, the latter two made written material available for the parliamentarians reprinted here with their permission.

The following brief was submitted to the meeting by Jennifer Robinson of the firm Finers Stephens Innocent. She is part of the legal team representing Julian Assange in the extradition proceedings requested by Sweden.

haha, no, I don't have to automatically do anything, I don't have to absolutely commit to any statement you think I make, I am commiting to the statements I make (and the "stances" behind them)

I lived through what was "leaked" and I'll tell you this: it was NOTHING compared to what I could TELL YOU and show you VIDEO of (from my ****ty little cannon camera) I have a higher clearance than "Bradley Manning" ever did and know the SIPRNET backwards and forwards; what was leaked was slopy, controlled & a deliberate agenda push...

I don't have to speculate on this subject because I was actually in the middle east and saw first hand the sort of things going on. (not that that should sway you in anyway & I know it won't, you've already made your mind up)
I'm not surprised that there were a lot more terrible atrocities committed in Iraq if that is what you mean. There is a much bigger picture to all of this than on the ground warfare and no i haven't made up my mind about anything.I try to remain as open minded as possible.

    Quote TargetT said:

what’s with TPTW(the powers that were) are you just one of those positive thinkers? how "were" are they?

name ONE thing that was released by wiki-leaks that does not support a GLOBAL RESTRUCTURING (both financially and governmentally) &/or "more of the same", you see we aren't quite ready to shift into full on "chaos" mode, we need all the currencies to crash first & the US is being damn stubborn about its crash, though I smell the end is soon with the dow recently hitting 13,000 for no reason
Sorry i should of said the powers that never were. They are only tptb if you think they are.At the moment the global consciousness thinks that that they are but that is in the process of changing.Wikileaks may be playing a part in this change of global perspective and awareness. The more people that realize that it is actually they themselves who have the ability to make real change and improve the planet then the influence of the tptnw will fade away.

What one makes of WikiLeaks releases is up to the individual. If you perceive that the releases are all a part of a global restructuring then you may well be right but not in the way that you think.Time will tell.

There may well be a scenario regarding the financial/currency system that avoids a worse case result. The powers that never were don't hold all of the cards.

Quote Bradley manning’s story was a joke, he was set up to be somewhat of a "martyr"; you see its well known what we have weaknesses for (Fear, Underdogs, easy paths, lack of action... these are all heavily played on) Wiki-leaks isn't done with its propaganda so I can guarantee you that assange will continue to float around always seemingly harassed by "the bad men" (the very same ones that must be vilified for the PROBLEM: REACTION : SOLUTION paradigm to work) this is high drama played perfectly to human weaknesses.

just objectively look at what has been released & tell me what you see.

of course this is also my opinion, though I have based it on a little bit of reality (as a current member of the military industrial complex & OIF/OEF vet)
I don't believe that Bradley Manning's story to be a joke at all.I think that he done what he felt was the right thing to do and good on him.

I see that what has been released has opened some peoples eyes to how corrupt and untrustworthy their publicly funded public servants are.How greedy and ruthless the corporations are.How unfair and corrupt the justice/legal system is and how the mainstream media is nothing more than a propaganda arm of the corpocracy that is on its way out.

Cheers TargetT.It's good to have the perspective from someone who has been there and actually seen it.Thankyou

It's interesting to see also, how hard a number of governments are trying to push through legislation to censor the internet. Do you think it's their attempt at damage control?

Well my guess is that internet freedom is 'their' biggest weakness. They have been increasingly desperate to filter it and have the ability to shut down whatever websites they deem as an informational threat but they haven't been able to do it.The internet is now so embedded in the global psyche that i would not be surprised that they won't be able to clamp down on it.They will keep trying of course but imho they will fail.

Now here's where I conflict myself.. I love what wiki-leaks & manning have done for "TV watchers" awareness, but I'm also sort of afraid that the current control structure PLANS on imploding (to replace itself with a "better"(in "their" eyes) one) & to do so you need to build animosity (though controlled and guided) against the current system.

the NWO is real, its been talked about by "these people" publically for years, one world currency also... I'm not talking about fantisy & these "wiki-leak" type orginizations are just supporting the transition (very clearly) in my mind.

I do agree though, & I think a bit of "unintended consquences" are playing in our favor.. the same old tricks aren't working smoothly like they used to (perhaps its the completion of hte 26,000 year cycle) & maybe people will take the extra step beyond what is presented by the main stream media on WIKI-Leaks (et al) and do a little discovery on their own...

(but I don't really see it yet)

btw, I did not mean that what manning (suposedly) did was a joke, I see it more like the "domestic terrorists" that are taught how to make a bomb then busted by the people (US government, FBI usualy) that showed them how to do it & enabled them to do it. ( in other words, the perfect example of PROBLEM : REACTION : SOLUTION)

This is why………..even though the FBI is always the first to be
criticized for not playing nice-nice in the sandbox………….the
concept of “widely sharing of information” is not always a great idea.
For a number of years I have used the very example of “a slick sleeved
private, siting in a tent in Baghdad, looking at thousands of classified
reports on SIPRNET”, as a bad way to business.
    Even I didn’t think that
was going to be the exact scenario that has played out with this WikiLeaks
fiasco. Maybe everybody at the DNI and DHS who have been pimping the
“share by rule, withhold by exception,” concept for the last nine years
will change their tune a little, and acknowledge that “need to know” is
    still a valuable idea.

The Australian’s foreign editor and Labor’s leadership crisis

    By Patrick O’Connor
    2 March 2012

Last Monday, the day Prime Minister Julia Gillard defeated former foreign minister Kevin Rudd in Labor’s leadership ballot, Murdoch’s Australian published an unusual article by its foreign editor, Greg Sheridan.

An effusive proponent of the US-Australia alliance, Sheridan has intimate connections with the foreign policy and defence establishment in Washington. His article urged the Labor caucus to re-elect Rudd as leader, and raised the former prime minister’s foreign policy record, his relations with Washington, his attitude towards China and his related proposal for a new “Asia Pacific Community.” It also discussed the US response to the 2010 coup that deposed Rudd as prime minister and installed Gillard.

The comment was one of very few media reports to broach any of these issues in the course of the government’s leadership crisis, which was generally presented as nothing more than a clash of rival egos. Many aspects of Sheridan’s article, however, are contradicted by what actually happened during the two and a half years that Rudd was prime minister. The entire column smacks of a cover up of the crucial foreign policy issues underlying the internecine struggle within the Labor government.

The piece, entitled “Gillard is not prime ministerial material and Rudd ought to return”, was fulsome in its praise of Rudd. The former prime minister, Sheridan insisted, “has a profound geostrategic map in his head”, whereas Gillard, on “geostrategic issues, [hasn’t] the faintest schmick of an idea what’s going on.”

Sheridan continued: “All over the world, prime ministers and presidents, foreign ministers and senior officials tell me how valuable they find Rudd. I am not gilding the lily here, and I am certainly not making this up. Senior Americans, across a number of agencies and institutions, look to Rudd for policy advice on China. So do Canadians. And ministers across the Middle East tell me how valuable they find his contributions. Europeans regard him as a first-table interlocutor on important global and regional issues. All through Asia Rudd is seen as a friend who can get things done.”

For good measure, Sheridan added: “Rudd’s vision of an Asia Pacific community, and his brilliant advocacy in Washington, led directly to the US joining the East Asia Summit, an achievement equal to Hawke’s creation of APEC.” He went on: “When Rudd was first deposed as prime minister, senior US officials were aghast they had lost such a good friend, and equally astonished that someone as provincial and narrow as Gillard could become prime minister of a country such as Australia.”

Diplomatic cables sent from the US embassy in Canberra to Washington while Rudd was prime minister, later published by WikiLeaks, paint a very different picture.

I honestly think that everything hasn't been going according to plan for 'them'.I wouldn't be surprised that some major and long time planned for events have'nt actually occurred. Why ? I don't know but i think that as more people awaken to what has been going on etc that this has an effect on real time and future events by way of the global consciousness. This is why they keep us dumbed down with propaganda, food and water toxins, electromagnetic pollution etc etc because it dumbs down the global consciousness but this is changing and now 'they' aren't getting everything their own way.So i would guess that as even more people wake up that it will have an even greater effect on what happens in the near future.

    Possibly.

I suspect that 'they' will try to take advantage of whatever obstacles come along. If they can't co-opt it then they will try to shut it down or discredit it.But they are up against an unstoppable force imho

Quote I do agree though, & I think a bit of "unintended consquences" are playing in our favor.. the same old tricks aren't working smoothly like they used to (perhaps its the completion of hte 26,000 year cycle) & maybe people will take the extra step beyond what is presented by the main stream media on WIKI-Leaks (et al) and do a little discovery on their own...
Yes i agree. The future is fluid and not as predictable and controllable for 'them' as it used to be.

    Stratfor's blatant hypocrisy toward WikiLeaks

It’s no secret that Stratfor hates Julian Assange. On February 27, WikiLeaks began the release of over 5 million emails from the global intelligence company. Within the first 400 or so emails, roughly 70 of them mention WikiLeaks or Assange. The most consistent thing in these emails is a strong hatred for the WikiLeaks founder.

The attacks against Assange come in a wide range, from simple name-calling—“douche,”1 “****ing idiot,”2 “delusional nut”3—to multiple claims that he is a terrorist.4 He is called “anti-American” more than once,5 with one Stratfor analyst claiming that he “hates America more than [Osama bin Laden].”6 While claims of Assange’s anti-Americanism are widespread, they are unfounded, as WikiLeaks does not target specific countries but publishes the material it receives. Assange has also spoken favorably of America’s Founding Fathers and First Amendment. (For a good analysis on this issue see “Debunked: WikiLeaks is Anti-American.”)

Beyond the insults come threats and wishes for harm against Assange. After his arrest in December 2010, Australian ex-Senator Bill O'Chee writes “Hooray!” then comments, “Sadly he didn't have a car accident on the way there.”7 The threats continue: “he needs to be water boarded,”8 “He'll be eating cat food forever,”9 “He needs his head dunked in a full toilet bowl at Gitmo,”10 “tactical nuke solves everything,”11 and so on.

"All week, WikiLeaks and twenty-five or so media partners have been publishing the “Global Intelligence Files,” over five million emails from the Texas-headquartered “global intelligence company known as Stratfor. The documents show, according to the organization, “Stratfor’s web of informers, pay-off structure, payment-laundering techniques and psychological methods.”

The organization’s press release explains the emails show the “inner workings of a company that fronts as an intelligence publisher, but provides confidential intelligence services to large corporations, such as Bhopal’s Dow Chemical Co., Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon and government agencies, including the US Department of Homeland Security, the US Marines and the US Defense Intelligence Agency.”

The emails have showed that Stratfor had an FBI source, who has feeding information to Stratfor about a “sealed indictment” against Julian Assange; Homeland Security produced a report in October of last year on how growing support for the Occupy movement presented a growing threat of violence; a former Goldman Sachs managing director was helping Stratfor to launch a hedge fund that could help the company “trade in a range of geopolitical instruments, particularly government bonds, currencies and the like”; Coca-Cola hired Stratfor to help them monitor PETA activists at the Vancouver Olympics; Dow Chemical hired Stratfor to monitor Bhopal activists and the Yes Men to ensure their profits weren’t hurt by campaigns for justice, since there has been little accountability for the 1984 Union Carbide disaster, which the company is responsible."

    .

Thanks to WikiLeaks there is now evidence of Dow Chemical paying Stratfor to monitor activists supporting and trying to get justice for the Bhopal victims...

around the 3 minute mark one of the 'Yes Men' (who are satyrical activists) talks about it...

I hadn't heard of the Yes Men before and I think they are brave and brilliant.

Here's when, on the 20th Anniversary of the Bhopal disaster, one of them successfully posed as a Dow Chemical executive in a live BBC television interview.

(other parts on YT site....I watched the whole thing last night and enjoyed it)

it takes some nerve to do that......

The Keiser Report from yesterday discusses WikiLeaks and talks about the double standards about the way the Murdochs are treated and the way Anonymous/Assange is treated, regarding hacking private emails etc...

Also in the second half there's an interview with Andy Bichlbaum...one of the 'Yes Men'

    from video info....

Quote In this episode, Max Keiser and co-host, Stacy Herbert, discuss the Stratfor bimbo, the bank that is in bed with it and Wikileaks as the modern day Gutenberg press. In the second half of the show, Max talks to Andy Bichlbaum of TheYesMen.org about Stratfor, culture jamming and targeting the system's bottom line.
