And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we first started

    Hi Muzz,

I loved this video! I've saved it to YouTube and will watch again. I've download to iPad: "Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking"

It brought clarity to a couple of quirks of my own. The part that jumped out at me was people such as Gandhi (one hero of mine) was introverted, but knew he needed to come forward to lead. A sincere thanks for this video.

Thanks WhiteCrowBlackDeer, the story of introverts forced into the limelight through their own conscience is inspiring.

And as for the rest of you lot, what a mess you left after last night. Books and knitting needles lying all over the place. Rowdie bunch

Introvert is a word invented by all of these people who are looking for distractions from processing their inner 'stuff'. Extroverts are the primary reason the world sucks. They are too busy doing a lot of nothing instead of figuring out why they like to so so much of nothing and who is making them 'have' to do and buy all of this nothing. Introverts like people, just not automaton biobots.

Introverts like quality and extroverts like quantity, generally speaking. Form over function is another analogy of sorts.

Liking your own company is a sign of solid mental health, IMO.

Susan Cain is the lady in the vid at the beginning of this thread that speaks on introverts. It was so good that i downloaded her book. You don't need to purchase to get all you need from her 25 minutes vid. If you don't have the time, I encourage you to listen to the first 6-7 minutes. It eye opening, that is if you are an introvert.

Love and Laughter right back to you!

Another introvert peaking into the room here.

I (and my fellow hermit partner) live in a remote mountain valley, 45 minutes to nearest town or grocery store, get to town for supplies about once every 2 weeks.

Our main relations and communications with family and friends are by email, and our daily personal relationships are with the 3 cats, 2 dogs, and feeding the local growing bird population.

Went out to a movie on my birthday (The Artist), and had the whole theater to ourselves! Kinda enjoyed that.

OK, that's enough info from me.

Thank-you, Muzz, for this video message.

Gosh, it almost stirred me to tears... it made me feel better (and quite proud) to remember that I, too, am an intravert...always have been... except during those phases of my life which led me to "do" like everyone else because of peer pressure, or spouse pressure, or child pressure. And yet, even during those times of "coming out" like when I used to sing semi-professionally, or when I teach... I don't do it because I want glory or a pedistall, but more often because someone talks me into it and convinces me of the worth of my transmitting my "talents/knowledge".

The reward is seeing the glow in people's faces of their inner light, their nods of self-revelation, the tiny tear in their eye and the smile on their lips, the pat on the back or the hug of thank-you as they bellow with shouts and claps of hand, these extraverts finally getting the center stage.

But being the typical intravert that I am, I just step quietly aside/outside and let them rejoice in their extravertism.

    VIVA THE INTRAVERTS!!!!

It felt sooooooo good to hear mine was not the only family reading books together at the dinner table. My cousins lived a block away while growing up, and they did the same thing. I thought every one did, until I went into some houses as an adult and found ... no bookcases and no books. The astonishment. The disbelief. The horror.

I was allowed to be a complete bookworm. My sisters were a trifle more balanced than I was, but not by much LOL.
