Default WebTex Surviva Pure water purification

    Hi all

Just wondering if anyone has experience of using this device which fits a standard plastic water canteen?. It claims to "Filter up to 1600 Litres of Water! - Equivalent to 12 glasses a day for a year".

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Web-tex-Surv.../dp/B002JTQ5JA

Some reviews say that it is fantastic while some others say the system needs too much suck pressure to gain a drink, also that the rubber seal around the cap has to be tightened way too tight to actually gain a good seal.

Comments on other devices for out in the wilds would be greatfully accepted.

    Ammit
Love. peace and Blessings to you all.

I was sold on "Berkey Filters" when a mountain biker filtered water from streams rather than carrying extra weight for refill.

    Picture of the bottle: http://www.berkeyfilters.com/berkeysport.htm
    Main Site: http://www.berkeyfilters.com/

They have different products on the website. I like the "just fill and go" water bottle with a straw. It's leak proof and has a top loop to clip to bike/book bag...

This water purification product has been tested in accordance with the EPA Protocol for Microbiological Purifiers and ANSI/NSF 53 adapted for sport bottles.
REFILL CAPACITY: Water from any source: 160, Municipal Water: 640

The Sport Berkey Portable Water Purifier eliminates and reduces:
    • Harmful Microscopic Pathogens: Ecoli>99.99999%,Crytosporidium,Giardia and other pathogenic bacteria.
    • Toxic Chemicals>99.9%: Trihalomethanes,VOG’s,detergentspesticides,etc..
    •Radiologicals>99.9%: Radon 222
•Heavy Metals>99.9%: Aluminum, Cadmium, Chromium, Copper, Lead, and Mercury.
    • Unpleaset, tastes, odors, cloudines, silt, sediment, andchlorine>99.9%

This is some of the literature: The advanced technology was developed, refined, and proven through diligent, investigative research and testing performed by water purification specialists, researchers, and engineers. The media within the filter element removes contaminants by a surface phenomenon know as “adsorption” which results from the molecular attraction of substances to the surface of the media. As the bottle is pressed, the source water is forced through the filter. The quality and volume of media used, determine the rate of adsorption. The flow rate or time of exposure through the filter has been calculated to yield the greater volume removal of toxic chemicals caused by pollution from industry and agriculture. The exclusive filter also incorporates proprietary absorbing media that are impregnated into the micro-porous filter for the IONIC absorption of pollutants into the filter such as aluminum, cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, mercury, and other dangerous heavy metals.

The “Tortuous Path” of these pores gives it its unique characteristics. The Sport Berkey® Portable Water Purifier offers a convenient and portable filtration system using medical grade technology.
