Default Email and web use 'to be monitored' under new laws

The title of the thread says it all.

The government will be able to monitor the calls, emails, texts and website visits of everyone in the UK under new legislation set to be announced soon.

Internet firms will be required to give intelligence agency GCHQ access to communications on demand, in real time.

The Home Office says the move is key to tackling crime and terrorism, but civil liberties groups have criticised it.

greybeard, do any of us think that shining a conscientious light on the demise of the global, healthy biomass could help alert small business owners? (Counting under 500 employees?) I try in my own way and know of others trying to do so in their own ways.

    Chris,

Have you heard about the Utah data center under construction? This will blow your mind. The full gathering and distilling and categorizing of all digital transmissions is almost complete.

This has been going on for years via the likes of ECHELON & others. The only difference now is they are letting folk know that everyone is being watched & recorded & there isn't a thing they can do about it for the very government they have voted into office has pushed through Acts that will allow such dracion measures to take place.

Well said Bryn ap Gwilym, what we see, by its very nature, must be only the "tip of the ice berg". Not only that but governments around the world are also signing plurilateral agreements (TRIPS, ACTA, etc) that give away even the illusion of national autonomy.

Further to the 'Wired' article on the Utah Data Centre this section is chilling:

Quote According to another top official also involved with the program, the NSA made an enormous breakthrough several years ago in its ability to cryptanalyze, or break, unfathomably complex encryption systems employed by not only governments around the world but also many average computer users in the US. The upshot, according to this official: “Everybody’s a target; everybody with communication is a target.”
The above quote from Wired is saying that the NSA has admitted having a way to learn anything, about anyone, anywhere in the world. No longer shall we be policed by an exterior agent, soon we shall police ourselves for fear of being perceived as a threat and then there will be little need for anyone to police anything.
    Kind Regards,

Hi they are debating about it now on BBC radio 5 live, lord Carlisle was on basically giving the argument that it was needed to fight
Terrorism and cyber crime etc ....One of callers who called in said he was a hacker from 'Anonomous' and made a point that
no legislation would stop criminals or hackers or terrorists who would be one step ahead. Also he tried to make the point that
terrorism is a 'red herring' but the point was not developed. The rest of the debate is basic & interresting, someone has just
made the point that its illegal to open people ordinary mail ( letters.post cards) so terrorists could just send info by post and
others are seeing thru the terrorist argument and one mentioned the false flag issue !! Steve

This shouldn’t be a surprise at all; it’s only a matter of time. The governments created and used the internet at least 20 years before the average Joe was allowed to use it. They had their agents and decoy websites up and ready for the longest time. It’s a hugh agenda dedicated to program intellect. The internet is a breeding ground for spreading lies. If there was anything threatening to the infrastructure of government they would have shut it down long ago, don’t you think?

Its primary use is to further brainwash the masses and keep them complacent obeying slaves. Never before would I have imagine such a bamboozle tactic, obviously the internet and its deceptions has been in the works for a very long time. First they washed the views of everyone in the world…then they regulate it later to prevent anyone from undoing all their mental programming. For the love of everything good…I hoping I’m not the only one to realize this….

If you know like I know…if you plan to use the net to do anything revolutionary or for the greater good of mankind…you better do it sooner than later. After they’re finished making all your lives dependant on this technology…. they will use it to further enslave you.

The opportunity to use the net to do anything positive, and of great significance for the species is fleeting…and fast. Reaching out to others across the world will not be the same. The net was always meant to be a test/Beta…the actual use is to prowl into your business without concerns of detection. They get a feel of what you are so they can design counter measures that will make you what they want you to be. You should never believe anything on it, especially if the info is vague and comes from sources you don’t know personally. Anyone selling you drama with a life or death spin to it…and refuses to give definable details to their claims don’t care about you, how could they …when they do nothing but put you in fear…while they hide in the shadows?

Only thrust yourself, go deep within and recognize who you are and move accordingly. Nothing in this world will ever manifest itself unless we allow it to. The people on the net are being trained to unlock portals and/or creating certain lifestyles by having their minds primed and focus on what TPTB want them on. It’s painfully obvious when you open your eyes and look around. It just saddens me to see that so many are so passed gone they don’t even care anymore. However, for those that still do…I’m still here with you continuing to fight for our rights that so many have died for. This is the only way to honor all those that have sacrificed and/or fallen, for us.

    Peace

Since yesterday this horrible law got reality yesterday in my country as well.
All telephone calls, text messages, Emails get saved for 6 months.
Where you are, who you are talking to and for how long. Whats next??

The constitutional court in Germany, Czech Republic and Romania abolished this law and gets confronted with a fine between 13.000 and 823.000 Euro per day.

Fortunately, there is an civil right group in every country and I recommend to sign the initiative.
And go to the streets, if necessary ;-)

They have already been doing this for years, now they just make it legal because they know we are on to them. Whats the difference, there is no privacy to be had. At all. We are bugs under a magnifying glass. Hate it.

Absolutely Steve. They have their reasons for wanting to do this, and then just spout whatever they feel will justify doing it so they can get their own way. In my opinion it's the start of the end where the net is concerned

Email and web monitoring laws 'to be brought in soon'

Quote The Home Office says new laws to allow the monitoring of all emails, texts and web use in the UK will be brought in "as soon as parliamentary time allows".

The statement comes despite widespread criticism of plans to allow GCHQ "real time" access to communications data.

In a further sign of a determination to push on with the plan, Home Secretary Theresa May said "ordinary people" would have nothing to fear.

But "criminals, paedophiles and terrorists" would,
    and Parliamentarians no doubt

I wonder what Rupert makes of all this ?

Looks like they've got that base covered, - tax it and price snail mail out of the market !

Quote A first-class stamp will rise in price from 46p to 60p from 30 April after the regulator lifted some price controls on Royal Mail.

A second-class stamp will go up from 36p to 50p - some 5p below the top price allowed by Ofcom.
