maybe they just slowed down so that they could be seen(light reflection).

I learned to fly helicopters at RAAF Amberly. We did a lot of night flying both with and without nav lights.

We often carried out autorotations ( engine failures) at night these would be seen as a very slow light followed by an extremely rapid rate of descent - in the initial stages like free fall.

Now the major Army helicopter training base is at Oakey, (Toowoomba), about 55 km west of Amberley.

Even to experienced night pilots a helicopter, especially with atmospherics ,seems to do some really strange things.

Also at night speed, change of direction and altitude depend largely on the position of the observer relative to the craft.

I am not suggesting they are not UFO's but as there is no secret to training ops maybe you could check with Army Oakey or RAAF Amberley whether night flying ops are in progress.

Also useful is a terminal chart which will show the extent of restricted airspace around both bases.

PS The Airforce sleeps on Sundays,(don't tell anyone!!) So Saturday and Sunday nights are the best time for observing.

That is very useful knowledge to have Rogerc. Very valuable inside info. Thanks. The interplay of atmospherics and positioning/perspective no doubt can present some strange visions, which until understood, can fool people to think they are seeing something that is not earth based.

I suppose I would question, in regards to this particular sighting, how this is possible for an autorotation exercise to stay almost stationery for hours in the sky?
Another theory offered has been that the object might be an RC plane (remote control) but the guy who took the video, actually taken with his mobile phone, says in a comment on youtube:

How can it be a RC plane?? It hovers in the same place for hours. And not one or two of them. Every night there are atleast 6 in the sky. And they split into other lights and craft, fly over my house in silence and then split off into other lights and balls. Maybe one night viewing I could be confused. But I see these everynight for the past 2 months.

He says that the object/s always appear ''To the Nth West and West. I pretty much took this footage to shut my friends up who thought I was going mad.''

And, he adds:

This footage was taken on my mobile phone camera, which wasnt on the right settings either at the time I recorded. This thing was 100times brighter than anything else in the sky. I have seen this one now about 8 or so times, it was here again last night and will prob be here tonight as well. It seems to be coming in much closer every 2nd night. This footage doesnt give the real brightness or size of it in perspective.

I wonder if he is taking any more footage? I am yet to find out more as my contact is in transit at the moment out of Australia.

Hey Zebra, It is impossible for a helicopter to be stationary for hours in the sky because the average endurance is only about three hours until fuel exhaustion.

So that blows the helicopter theory out of the sky, (weak pun)

Zebra, the tanks i refered to were the fuel tanks there are two big ones, next to them there is a clearing. there are two large circles on the ground ,one is a land clearing the other seems to be foundations for the fuel tanks. but they are modular!,modular?. tank foundations would have to be a deep floating slab that would be able to take the obvious tons of Waite ,they would also have to be leveled at about i meter above ground.to avoid the wet.
they would have to be pored as in one piece , to avoid cracking or sinking towards one side or another.NOT modular.
another thing that bothered me was that they are about to start the other one .why isnt the left over steel still there and boxing bourds ect.i wouldnt take it all away to only have to bring it back again to do the other one just 30 merters away.
it could look like foundations as i say , and it could look like circular doors .(underground)
the other thing that bothered me was where do they park all the aircraft. if we look at the list there are loads and loads of squadrons of craft to park in the open or under cover.the hangers do not seen to be enough.......the list is false or most of it is underground.

on the other issue, Alien honeycomb , no i dont know it,but i will check it out. the hinterland story i knew about was one of a huge amount of witnesses after a wedding reception. it was long ago. the towns people stated what they had seen to the press in detail, and the press only led them on to be ridiculed, as crazy silly small town people ,then sortly after the numerous abductions that they found hard to relate to or understand . so between the two, they all decided to never talk again on the experience. a few talked to me about the the experience years later.but even then they shord themselves that i didnt work for the press.
im glad that times are changing now , people can finally be more open and not be humiliated to be true.

OK, now I understand what you are getting at. Boy, what if? All possible with the ramp up at the moment. However, I would refer these observations about the large circles to Rogerc. As you can see above, he was a helicopter pilot attached to Amberley and Toowoomba and might have some more to say about this. Would have more knowledge about the layout and some of your other questions relating to the housing of aircraft, etc.

That is an interesting account about that wedding party. Multiple witnesses as well. A few years back, you were considered a total loon - so I can understand them closing down on talking about it further. A lot of pressure goes with these associations - as probably you have already experienced yourself. I certainly have. It´s not fun, that is for sure.

Ipswich UFO witness writes to Avalon

Hey all, I have just received more information and reflections by the guy who took the OP video and he looks forward to hearing more from us here as well. I think you will find the following email he sent very interesting. As he writes below, they come regularly ..

Ok, ummmmm what more can I offer on these sightings.

They are here every night. Usually about 6 nights a week for sure.

They hover in the skies within a certain area, I'm working out they are above state forest or lakes in the area.

The one in this footage showed up about 2 - 3 weeks ago. It comes here usually about 3-4 days a week. Usually or 2 nights straight then returns a night or two later. In the same area. To the naked eye, it is a HUGE light in the sky. This footage doesnt give justice or perspective to what it actually looks like in the naked night sky.

I've seen comments on youtube saying its a Satellite. This observation is false because this object hovers only about 400 feet off the ground. And it slowly lowers itself to where I now know as a state forest and a lake in the area. One of the people commenting on Avalon mentions the Raaf base and some mountain. Those locations for those two things (Raaf base and Mountain) are to the South of where I am and this object is. I am in North Ipswich.

I do notice that late at night when these object seem to be more active, I hear aircraft taking off from the Raaf base which is about 20kms to the south of my house and these objects, which give me the idea they are not theirs.

The dont fly in packs or in any formation.
But they are interacting with each other.

This footage of this craft seems to be of a newer craft of NOT the same beings. The reason why I think that is its shown up months after the others, and in the footage other craft seem to be taking offence that it is in the area. It is 10x closer to my house than the others will come. Give me the impression its arrogant and the others dislike it is coming in too close. Even its movement in the sky seems to be arrogant.

Its def doing something in the forest and lake because it ascends right into them. Every time. From what I can tell because I dont actually see it landing because my vision is obstructed during the final landing stages.

They seem to interact with me on a telepathic level. I have attempted to contact them, and 90% of the time, they interact with my thoughts. Physically moving their craft to my wishes. Or flashing their lights or altering them to interact with me. I try NOT to get to interactive with them, as I prefer to observe for now anyway.

I am going to buy a HD camera and I will get more footage of ALL of them in the coming week, They will be still here,....lol.....they're always here.

You make a fair point. I just guage evidence from my own take on it, I ask myself internally, does this have truth in it? When it comes to video put out by every man and his dog right now - amongst some of these, I believe there are REAL sightings of interest that are NOT faked.

For me, any voices on a video will indicate quickly whether a video is authentic or not. But that is me, I have been trained to read people´s communication, especially the voice.

This particular case, I trust. I don´t put up videos of sightings easily .. and this one happens to be connected to someone I know and respect greatly. I have asked this guy also to provide us with any ongoing information, because this event is not just a one off. Read the email he wrote today in this thread, which I have just posted. I thought it would be of interest for us to be able to give our feedback, and to question him further to help in this enquiry. Something very questionable is going on. It is a live case, and we have access to the source.

Hi Rogerc,

I hear you. Lot of confusion at the moment. Information out there is dense and it is tangled. So for that reason, I believe we can only accept that nothing is concrete here, all this is just a may be.

As for the guy who has taken this video, he has been experiencing something and is questioning what is happening, and rightfully so. And he has produced some evidence. What these sightings are, where they are from, he does´nt know, and neither do we. However, when you read his email, you get the sense that he is taking it in his stride. I like that. He is accepting that something is there and choosing to keep his objectivity and distance for now so he can observe to get a better understanding.

I think we should all do that. I speak for myself, because that is all I can manage. I am on a journey to expand my consciousness, and that means staying alert, open and learning. That is the best part and I think that is exciting.

I looked around the base and found the following:

The circular areas to the west of the strip are ordnance,(munitions) bunkers the circular areas are fire breaks around them. No aircraft could be in that area because they require 'Hard standing' - runways taxiways etc

The aircraft grouped together are decommissioned F111's

The photos are taken in 2009 and I guess the F18's would have been deployed in the Gulf area.

As for the no. of squadrons only about 4 of those would be operational squadrons with aircraft - The RAAF call all units squadrons whether or not they fly - i.e. maintenance squadrons, support squadrons. Same as the RAN - their land bases are all called HMAS....... trust me the military is strange!

I'm not a trained aerial photo interpreter but I can't find anything sinister there at all. Remember military satellites are far better definition than google maps and you would not expect to be able to find a top secret area on google.

There are six heavy transports including one on the strip.

I have to add that I trained at Amberley in 1966, good trotting down memory lane though!

The entrance gate made me laugh - we used to have races with the police coming back from Ipswich. There used to be a boom gate there and it would be swung open for us and closed behind us. Amberley is Commonwealth property and the Queensland police had no jurisdiction.

I looked around the base and found the following:

I had another look and it appears that the concrete areas are the RAAFSFS (RAAF Security and Fire School)
Looking closely you can see mock up aircraft and what are possibly foam storage facilities
As for modular construction that is accepted practice or the concrete will crack - also it avoids a huge continuous pour
They practice fire fighting, emergency evacuation and terrorist threat procedures
Really though for a better evaluation I would need exact coordinates as the one given is the corner of a large building
Also for a proper evaluation you would need 'stereo pairs' of aerial photos, google is just not good enough

Hi Zebra, Think we are out of synch here. I can only comment on the RAAF base.

I am certainly not questioning the veracity of the reporter nor on the possibility of the existence of UFO,s.

I have followed UFO sightings for several years and including the recent release of papers regarding British bomber pilots in WW11.

There is no doubt that something strange going on but I don't know what - sorry.

PS Churchill classified the UFO sightings for at least 50 years.

Radar sweeps at the rate of about 2 - 5 seconds per 360 degrees and it is quite possible that an advanced craft would pick up radar transmissions and move in and out of the swept area - hence no sightings. I guess returning to the same location between sweeps could make objects appear to be stationary to the observer.

Apparently the human eye and brain can only process about 30 frames per second.

The plot thickens.

PPS Proxima Centauri our closest star is 4.4 light years away - anyone that can travels those distances is so far ahead of our technology that anything is possible
