Notes from Drake's radio show on Wednesday, May 23rd, beginning at the second hour (notes from first hour on previous page of this thread):

Lady Dragon talks again about the importance of personal responsibility. (I agree with her!)

Drake said secondary part of this deals with community: militias, citizens groups, local organizations and things of this nature. A way to reach out just a little further into your community. Individual groups in rural areas and small towns, there are any number of people you run across every day and never speak to them. He is suggesting that people get to know these people by starting to speak to them -- and create a rapport. People in service positions like clerks, grocery store employees, waitresses, etc., most of them are usually not treated that well. If a person reaches out to these individuals there can be a rapport when you reach out with your caring about them. Maybe you understand how their feet hurt from standing up all day -- whatever. The idea is that if people reach out to other people they start getting to know more about one another, and it gives you the opportunity to let them know that you care. Ask they what they care about, etc.

In this way, you can end up giving them a website address. "Are you online?" When they say yes, you can let them know about a good website to check out. Next time you see them you can ask them if they checked it out and if they did you can discuss it. Many people have written in asking what they can do to help. This is basically his answer -- not to hit people over the head with all the heavy stuff right off the bat. First get to KNOW the person and recognize that person's value.

Minuteman joined the show. Drake asked Minuteman what his take is on what he's been covering. Minuteman says he's on the same page. He also likes to help build civilian militias. He said we all have the RIGHT to defend ourselves and our communities. Regarding the arrests, "It's going slow, but hey, we are seeing some progress."

Drake said he found out that he was a little premature in terms of outing this regarding the mass arrests and some people administering the Plan got a little bit upset about that. Drake asked his international friends what was going on and about 3-4 days ago he was told there are still a couple of legalities in progress that need to be put in place. How long that will take Drake has no idea. "I'm going to say a few weeks," because that is what he has been getting told. He also suggests that everybody simply start getting prepared to handle the awesome responsibility of freedom.

We are going to need to re-organize our local governments. They are bigger than what we need for one thing.

Minuteman went to some Occupy Wall Street events in Texas. He said it wasn't like he was there just to tell other people what he had to say. First he wanted to hear what they had to tell him. "Let them go find things on their own" and then progress the conversation from that.

Minuteman told a story about what happened to him in 1995 so people can understand more about the military. Back then some of the military people ENCOURAGED the civilian militias to build up, and they acknowledged that there was a plan afoot. It's like a giant tsunami that is coming, that the should be our motivation to get busy to do what we can do. He also said that regarding martial law: THEY HAVE NOT GOT THE MANPOWER to shut down this country, much less the world. The most they can do is in tiny little pieces at a time. We probably outnumber them 10,000 to 1. "That's just a fact."

He has seen a lot of fear out there -- and the cabal is putting that fear out there to keep you sitting in your chair in fear. He has been in the civilian militia for 20 years with no big problem. There are exceptions such as Waco. "There are Patriots amongst us everywhere....There are probably more good guys in the military" and other places than there are bad guys.

You can't sit around and wait on Drake or Minuteman to get it done for you. You have to get up and do for yourself, said Minuteman. He loves his freedom and he wants to make sure it endures for himself, his children and his grandchildren.

Drake said that in some countries people have to be a little bit secretive at this point.

QUESTION asked of Lady Dragon by a person who has had a lot of trouble with the Canadian officials. He had gotten involved with a Free Man Society there and got led astray. He feels he is getting old but he will try to do what he can do.

QUESTION asked day Dan in Las Vegas: Asked if anyone could comment on the recent death of Bobby Kennedy, Jr.'s wife.

Drake said the arbitrary deaths of people who have decided to go against things have been set has created an extraordinary amount of fear and concern. These people that have had these problems were not generally free people. That goes to a combination of the family involvement as well as their integral benefits from sources not to be trusted. These sources have proved what they will do to anyone that causes them problems -- and ESPECIALLY people in families, etc. that have been involved with them. People do need to take note of these things happening, but they cannot continue doing as they please with the lives of people or the general population. There have been a number of deaths by varying means which were not accidental. These things should not be allowed to continue, and this is one of Drake's reasons for doing what he is doing now. Some of these people that died in this manner were friends of his. The power for them to do such things "has been curtailed tremendously" and this will not be allowed to continue. And in some cases the death penalty "is in order." Drake thinks God should deal with some of these people because we don't have the means of dealing with mass murderers, etc.

This Plan is all about a PEACEFUL transition so that we can once again have our basis of freedom. He thinks this is our last chance -- and that at this point we are winning, and he is looking forward to the celebration.

QUESTION asked, "Will pensions be wiped out when this thing happens?"

Drake said no. Everyone who has limited income, try to take a little bit of that to buy toilet paper and "junk silver" because it is an American coin and it is not confiscatable and is spendable. Due to the fact that we are going from a debt instrument to an equitable instrument (dollar), there will be a dead space where you will need a little bit of precious metals or necessities to tide you over for a couple or few weeks. He believes a lot of retailers will be scramble to be able to handle the coinage at that time. Smaller investors are not going to be hurt -- the extraordinarily large investors who are very closely related to the Federal Reserve they are going to have a problem; if not, they will be all right. We will have to wait and see exactly how the "dollar" will be revalued after that two or so weeks when we have an operable currency again.

QUESTION asks again about his pension. Drake does not think it is going to be a complete wipeout. An interest-bearing account might be more profitable than owning stocks.

If you have real silver dollars from before 1964 you are in good shape. Those are probably 90% silver. After 1964 they went to 85% and then to copper-clad.

QUESTION regarding Keenan lawsuit(s). Who is that going?

Drake said it is news he cannot share at this point; everything looks good so far and he does not foresee a problem.

QUESTION re JP Morgan.

Drake said that the people that left JP Morgan are the good guys. They got tired of the thieving. The second part of it -- Jamie Diamond was a principal on what went on. There was NOT a trading loss; that was a coverup for some type of secretive action.

QUESTION regarding dual citizenship and "Israel firsters." Caller sees some of those as a real problem. How do they figure into this strategy, the Zionist influence in our government?

Drake points about the original 13th amendment. "Most of these people are known and most will have the choice of leaving or standing trial; some will be arrested depending on what they have done." Most people are not aware of the fact that you cannot typify the bad guys. They come from all forms of control and control mechanisms and walks of life. Drake is not going to put all of it on Israel's doorstep. He also talked about the difference between what Zionism really is and what a lot of people mean when they talk about Zionists. They have been implementing putting people in place for thousands of years. It is going to be extraordinarily difficult to deal with because we don't even know who all of them are. And some may be moles for the good guys. It's all complex, but yes, it can be done.

The crux of it is that almost all of this goes to FINANCE and this is where the Neil Keenan suit comes into play. When you remove the power of finance, they cannot afford to hire the thugs to do what they want them to do.

And, the ones where no body talks to anyone for various reasons that obviously wont change over night. "Community Spirit" sometimes to me is one of those things that "looks good on paper" and coming out of peoples mouths as a really good idea, but fails flat in it's application.

So, how is Drake and his cohorts planning on handling those?

I believe those types will be part of the herd thinning. We will be on our own for a short time and those that can do something will be obvious and those that can't will be too. Some who have been entitled and useless until now will find a new person within and shine. A crappy world brings out the worst in us. As we blow in the wind of freedom, and chaos, for a little while the wheat and chaff will be separated. IMO.

QUESTION: About what Bill Brockbrader talks about -- can you give us any information on that stuff?

Drake said he will address it in a manner many may not be able to understand. The same advances since the age of stones to now, that advance from primitive man to present day is the same advancement we are looking at. The capability of describing that difference is very hard to explain. It is more than most people can imagine. Imagine being able to walk through walls, etc. and you will get a general and superficial idea of all of it. Whether you believe it or not, you are going to experience it. It's coming.

QUESTION: Do you meditate? If so, do you have any information regarding spirituality where people can get a jump on this whole thing?

Drake said the simple answer to that is he (Drake) sits on the porch and thinks about a lot of things. For those people who do not have an active [interesting and disruptive noises on the line...] ...go to humanity healing website and they have a good basis that he recommends.

Drake said if you contact FreedomReigns.US you can ask questions, but please first read the FAQ or Q&A. If that does not answer your question, send in your question. For people in places out of reach in other parts of the world, part of the problem is timing. For international information research on your own. We are busy with what we are doing here. Find your own founding documentation or historical event or whatever it may be. This will help give you a basis of what you want your country to be. Some were decided upon by monarchies; it varies. The basis of the situation is the same irrespective as to what country.

Drake said, "It is best if possible to acquire the assistance of as many of your military as possible. They can help you tremendously instead of being your opponent." POWERFUL STATEMENT apparently because the show link was totally shut off that this point.

Okay, it came back on...

Drake is talking about advances that happened a long time ago and a car that ran with no fuel for two and a half years. We will end up with a situation where we don't have 90% of the pollution due to the outing of all the suppressed technology.

Educate yourself so you know what is really going on, and educate yourself as to the possibilities as to what can be done technology-wise.

For those that want to get active, Drake likes the idea of the "Pots and Pans Terrorists" -- the ladies with large pots and wooden spoons, haha.

Drake has done some checking, and Drake saw the plan in '79 which is bogus date he gave on purpose as bogus. It actually started -- this Plan -- about the time of the Korean War.

QUESTION: Will the borders be closed?

Drake said yes, every form of transit into and out of the country will be locked down when this comes down. That includes satellites. The period of time allotted is about 72 hours best he knows. We will supposedly notified 24 hours in advance of the actual actions. When Drake gives the "green light" at that time....the sweep or cleansing will not go past about the Governor level. THIS IS WHY COMMUNITY IS EXTRAORDINARILY IMPORTANT.

He talks about how people will need to know what they can do that needs to be done in their community. (We're all pretty behind on this apparently.) FreedomReigns.US plans to post some things about Common Law. Presently maritime law trumps common law. Sometimes it deals with things that common law cannot.

QUESTION: Asked about Judge Dale's documents.

Drake is in kind of a funny situation, he says. There is a lot of validation in a lot of different things. There is a difference between validation from an individual and a person who has viable means regarding collateral accounts.

QUESTION: Cuset (sp) number and way to determine the best way to find out what that number is for everybody. Judge Dale says everyone has an amount on their birth certificate bond.

Drake said he can answer just part of it. There are three sets of books that detail the finances of the planet; then another 3 sets of books on the government level. The numeric value of an individual is $3.5 billion as a maximum potential. No one knows where the adjustment is. And it is a fluid number that is always changing. In terms of what is going to happen, the corporation will no longer have the right to use individuals as stock.

QUESTION: Talking about a man called Hutz [David Hutzler] who passed away that Drake and Deatra knew as well....Then also asked about the radiation in Japan and what we might be facing in regard to radiation.

Drake said that it's not going to be a pretty scene but there are some things that will help deal with the problems. Fukiama [sic; Fukishiima] was intentional. It was about money. The reactors are not being tended to.

QUESTION from an activist who is a heavy networker asks about people being skeptical because to the timeline change. "What can I say to reassure them that things are going to happen?"

Drake said it has been delayed for a few weeks. It's not up to him, but there are things that must be attended to. People can strive towards freedom and be hopeful they can do that; others can just roll up in a ball if they want to. Drake expressed his gratitude and joy from each new day, and every new day is another chance. Drake does not know all the details as to why they have been delayed. He feels that everyone simply has to do what people in the military do all the time and it's called, "Hurry up and wait."

QUESTION: "I jointed the militia in Oregon...and it's a dead group....Is it possible for me to form my own group here?" He would like to help.

Drake said of course you can. Minuteman agreed. "Nobody can tell you that you cannot form a militia unit. That is your right." If necessary by all means form your own unit. If you are community-oriented and such, that would be a positive plus. "By all means set up your own group." If you are in a dead group, Minuteman says to also raise a little Caine in that group.
Caller doesn't want to wait for a date; he wants to get active. Minuteman said "Amen."

Minuteman said a lot of people are under the impressoin that militias are set up under state commanders. The state command thing never works. (Texas just experienced that in two separate groups.) There can be groups in counties and even more than one group in a county. His group recently did a presentation in from the the county commissioners. If you are going to build or form a group you have got to let the Sheriff know about it because if you don't it may put him on "alert." If the Sheriff tries to give you something to do that is not good for the people, just say no.

WRAM, United States Militia and other groups were mentioned as good groups to get information from. Bear in mind the militia is not just a bunch of guys with guns. It needs support too. If you don't like guns or what have you, you can support the militia in another way. It is the right of every American. It does not dictate color or gender. There are several layers where you can get involved. Historically the militia is a community-based thing to protect the community. They used to also help build houses, and that too may come up again.

QUESTION: Asked Drake to draw us a picture of what K-12 and University education system will be in the future.

Drake said we need to revamp what we are doing. Drake's father's 8th grade textbooks were like an Associate's Degree in at least one area today. He suggested adjusting schooling and including technical training in the last two years of high school. In higher education many should be able to get a degree for a trade in two years. "We need to start really teaching" not the adjusted history that has been put out but the real deal. (He goes on and it is mostly his own opinion so I'm not going to take notes on the rest of this part.)

Wrapping it up, Drake suggests that people download Skype. In this way people from Europe can call in without having to pay anything (because it is free to call Skype-to-Skype).

Minuteman reminds everyone of the importance of personal responsibility and "let's get rid of some of that fear out there." We'll get to know what freedom is really like for once.

Drake said the National Lawyers Guild is addressing the legalities the people are having with freedom. They have negated in a state the NDAA. They are located all over the country and they are top-notch lawyers, and pro bono work as much as possible. They are good.

Woooo.. so here I go.. you know what is wrong with the world? Lack of empathy and compassion for others, I wonder if you were a different color if you would be saying the same things.. Gosh the more I am around people the more i love my garden.. OH Avocadess thanks for that..I am curious.. when I have asked Drake etc anbout folks who are disabled, they seem to think I am asking about the cjeck/ Do you think that this may be personal predjudice or just the natural obliviousness of most folks to our population? I theorize that we remind folks of their own mortality and they just cannot handle that.. C'est la vie.. I'm gonna keep on doing what we have been in our community because the dynamics here (IN NC) are so weird.. I'm trying to find out about medical care for some folks I know who will die without it. I come to this thread to find Drake updates, clarifications and more. Not because I am bought into 100% of what Drake is saying but because I am using my discernment and curious about his information. However, there is so much negativity here I now skip over so many posts and just find Avocadess to get the info on where to hear Drake if I so choose.

I think it would be helpful if we could all share our opinions without attacking another. It is a us verses them mentality. I feel it is so critical that people allow others their truth and to be kind! I believe we create our world by our actions we take in this moment. I think we can look at some of the sharing here and ask is this helpful to the members here? I believe this type of forum is so helpful because it exposes visitors to an abundance of information and vantage points from which we can individually discern and dig deeper. If what we find is accusations and name calling it only serves to divide and take our focus off the vision I believe we want to see manifest. I am certain many people with much to share have not joined or no longer visit this site due to the attacking nature of many posts. If we want to live in a world where abundance, peace and love is our experience then we need to start living it in our lives. We need to become it NOW! It is not something that will drop on us. You experience peace by being it. You receive kindness by giving it.

I didn't say I like Drakes message. I am just curious (bringing into question) what people are saying. There are some red flags with some of Drakes messages in my opinion.

You don't know me at all or what I have learned. No where in my comment did I judge people for disagreeing with the topic of discussion. I was drawing attention to the negative personal attacks which I feel stops the conversation and dialog which is what a forum like this is here to facilitate.

Just a little bit here about my source and his “super-secret code name.” I’ve known this government insider since 1979, when he first became a municipal patrol officer. My notes consist of two pages and are, at various points, admittedly difficult to decipher. I ask that points not be deducted for my penmanship given the time of the morning which they were taken.

According to my source, there is talk among the highest levels of the uppermost echelon of the Department of Homeland Security, which he describes as effectively under the control of Barack Hussein Obama. During this call, he said that the DHS is actively preparing for massive social unrest inside the United States. He then corrected himself, stating that “a civil war” is the more appropriate term. Certain elements of the government are not only expecting and preparing for it, they are actually facilitating it,” stated my source.

“The DHS takes their marching orders from the Obama administration, from Obama himself, but mostly from his un-appointed czars. And Jarrett, especially Valerie Jarrett. Don’t think for a minute that the administration is doing anything to stabilize events in the U.S. They are revolutionaries, and revolutionaries thrive on chaos,” he added.

My source stated that he has not seen things this bad since he began working within DHS. “It’s like they [DHS agency heads] don’t care about what the American people see or feel about what the DHS agencies are doing. They figure that if the average American will put up with being “sexually groped and nuked” just to fly, they’ll accept almost anything. “That’s why their actions are becoming more overt. “It’s in your face and the brass actually chuckle about it” said my source.

New Information

Astounded by the information my source provided “going viral,” I spoke to him again early Sunday morning. This was a scheduled telephone call (as noted on page 2 of my notes) based on a high level meeting of DHS personnel that was scheduled for and took place in Chantilly, Virginia, on Saturday, 5 May 2012. He hoped to provide me with more information to supplement that which he already given. Although he was not personally present, his source was. While he would not say who was at the meeting on Saturday or give its precise location, he said that the many of the names would be recognizable. He spoke to his source late Saturday night.

I contacted him on his cellular phone early Sunday morning to get the promised update.

“Geez, nice job on getting the word out about what’s really going on at DHS and in this administration,” were the first words out of his mouth, followed by “thanks a lot.” I asked him why he would be thanking me. “I just wanna’ tell you that I’m going to have to hire someone to start my car, and I’m surely not going for any rides in small planes in the immediate future,” he said with a bit of nervous laughter. “I hope no one finds out who I am or it’s going to be more than my pension I’ll have to worry about.”

“I can tell you word is getting out that people are starting to wake up, which is causing a lot of ‘pissed off brass.’ I can’t tell if they are more desperate or upset about the exposure, but the tone is starting to become a lot more tense. I hope that we’re having something to do with that,” he added.

With that, he provided me with additional information to supplement that which he already given me on 25 April. For clarity purposes, I have combined the information together from both contacts. The following information includes the updated information provided to me Sunday morning.

Obama the revolutionary

Metaphorically speaking, there’s a revolution going on in the U.S., propped up by three legs. Economic chaos, chaos through racial division, and chaos through class division, all joined by one core element: Barack Hussein Obama and his stable of unelected czars. Obama is using the lessons learned in 1968 as the template for 2012, and many of those who were active in the late 1960s are now calling the shots for 2012.

“The Obama administration and many of the un-elected ‘czars,’ either directly or indirectly, are engaged in covert activities with the occupy movement, various labor protests, and other subversive activities inside the U.S.,” stated my source. Using untracked campaign funds, they are paying people to infiltrate the various movements to cause physical destruction of property and disrupt commerce. That began last year, but has increased ten-fold already this year,” stated this source. He added that they are using some lower level DHS agents to make the payments under the context of tracking subversives, but they are the unwitting subversives. “It’s like Fast & Furious” but in the social realm,” he added.

“Obama is using some high profile people as pawns to foment the revolution. I heard several times through very credible sources that [Louis] Farrakhan is on the CIA payroll. Other have been named as well, but I’m not prepared to identify them yet. Farrakhan is to coordinate the Blacks and the Muslims to prepare for riots this summer, using any means necessary.”

“Mentioned at the meeting Saturday were methods to use pawns to simulate the rioting in the Arab Spring countries, but to the benefit of this administration. A controlled chaos thing,” stated my source. They envision rioting starting in the urban areas first, such as New York and other major cities, followed by a disruption of business and commerce. This will allow the DHS to mobilize their various teams into the streets of America without objection of the people,” stated my source.

“They want to restrict travel, if not through high energy prices, then by checkpoints and curfews mandated by rioting and unrest. They understand we are the most well-armed nation in the world, yet they are aware of our vulnerabilities and intend to fully exploit them,” he added. The whole purpose is to keep Obama in office for another term, no matter how unpopular he is, as he is not finished changing our country from a Constitutional Republic. This is the run-up to the 2012 elections, or perhaps causing enough chaos to delay them - indefinitely.”

One statement that rattled me more than anything was that a great number of those already in power, whether in appointed or elected positions, actually want to see Obama stay in power, according to this source. “This is what we’ve been working toward and we’re closer now than we’ve ever been. If we lose now, we might not have another chance.”

This chilling common goal also explains the lack of interest in the Constitutional legitimacy of Obama. It is common knowledge that Obama is not an American, and neither is his agenda. Of course, criticism of his bona-fides feeds into the cries of racism, despite the massive fraud perpetrated on the American people. Party lines are meaningless when the common objective is the revolutionary overtaking of America.

Obama, the professor of Keynesian economics

“The Obama administration is working closely with Bernanke, Geithner and others not to save our economy, but to outright destroy it. He is not the first or only one to try this, but the most effective and most vetted for that purpose. Do you actually think that the fact that Timothy Geithner’s father worked with Obama’s mother in Indonesia was coincidental,” stated my source rhetorically. “What we’re seeing now is the fourth quarter of a game that started long ago, which also currently involves the Clintons. Obama would not be where he is if it were not for the Clintons, and to a lesser extent, Bush, but that’s for other reasons. Don’t be fooled, the Clintons never left or lost power,” he added.

“There are file drawers full of papers, heavily guarded papers at the ‘TEC building’ so I can only imagine what’s in them, about international financial dealings going back decades. I do know, or at least I was told, that they involve organizations that are the so-called conspiracy fringe groups, such as the Bilderberg group, the Trilateral Commission, and people including George Soros, Henry Kissinger, and current leaders of big industry. Some are fossils. They’ve been around a long time. Others are up-and-coming. They’ve got one thing in common, though, and that is to put in place a global system of governance, including a common currency. Economics is a huge part of this revolution, and they want to replace the dollar, to see it collapse. They expect, that is, they are working toward this very goal, and when this happens, it will cause chaos like never seen before in the history of this country.”

“Why do you think Jon Corzine is not only walking around, but heavily involved in Obama fundraising? They know it’s just a matter of time that Europe will implode economically, and when it does, start counting the days before we see massive hyperinflation and the ultimate collapse of the U.S. dollar,” stated this insider. “What will it look like in the streets of America when the general population realizes that there is no money? That’s right, chaos.”

Obama & the planned racial divide

According to this insider, the Trayvon Martin case is just the tip of the iceberg. “You certainly don’t have to be a genius to understand how Obama and his team played the public on this issue, and it’s far from over. But that’s not the sole element of what we’ll see this summer.”

“Remember the shots fired at the White House not too long ago?” asked my source. There was an element of outrage that was squandered, according to ‘team Obama.’ In fact, Obama and some of his closest advisors, especially [Valerie] Jarrett were incredibly angered that the outrage was seemingly tempered. It should have been an opportunity to use our force against the Tea Parties, the gun clingers, the Constitutionalists, and everyone who has complained about Obama. DHS should have stepped in right then, and used that event to start the clampdown,” this source stated about White House comments.

This source stated that from that point on, the DHS must become more responsive and aggressive.

Watch for a false flag event against Obama or his family, something that will outrage ‘black America.’ It will be carefully choreographed, but executed in a manner that will evoke the ugliest of reactions and create racial chaos in this country that will make the Watts riots, 1968 and the Rodney King riots pale in comparison. That’s the third leg in this.”

The planned end-game

Does Obama look worried about the upcoming elections? Look at his lavish vacations, his limited work schedule, and those with whom he is working. This is a very dangerous man who has, as his closest advisors, people who have orchestrated the revolutions of the 1960s. They know the “trigger points” in America.

The Obama administration, including his czars and along with his closets Progressive supporters, are planning a manufactured insurgency against America. He is using the media to his advantage to garner both sympathy and support for his unfinished goals. He is desperately seeking a way to remain in office, even if it means the surreal prospect of an indefinite postponement of elections - if it can be pulled off. So far, he’s got the support of the majority of the DHS “brass” behind him, according to my source.

“They’re power hungry, and they want to remain in charge,” stated this source.

The “surreal” aspect of suspended elections won’t look so surreal when you see any or all of the “trigger points” take place in the not-so-distant future.

“The end-game plan for America is its destruction as a Constitutional Republic, with the assistance of the agencies under the umbrella of the DHS.”

My sourced stated one more thing that seemed to tie things together. He urged me to recall the quote by Henry Kissinger who was speaking at a Bilderberg meeting at Evian, France, on 21 May 1992:

Today Americans would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order; tomorrow they will be grateful. This is especially true if they were told there was an outside threat from beyond, whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will plead with world leaders to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well being granted to them by their world government.

That threat need not be from beyond. All it might take is a world of starving, broke and desperate people.

The Contact

It was not the proverbial 3:00 a.m. phone call, but close enough. And it was not made to the White House, but to my house, which is not white, nor is it in DC. It was about 2:30 a.m. on 25 April 2012, and the call itself was somewhat unexpected. I had anticipated the telephone call from my DHS insider much earlier the previous day, but our schedules didn’t synch up. I was traveling on an investigative assignment, while my source was in meetings all day. I had just fallen asleep, and was slumbering no more than 20 minutes when the phone rang.

In most households, a ringing phone at that time of night causes concern for everyone who hears it. In my household, it seems to surprise only my surly, 140 pound light-sleeping German Shepherd. He let out an objective grunt as I stepped over him to take the call in another room. It was “Rosebud,” the code name given my insider source.
