I watched it first, then listened to it on Cash Flow ---- this is the kind of video to give to our "naysayers".

Steve I watched this a few days ago. It gave me the creeps. I hate seeing children being brainwashed. It to me seems the same as these parents who get their 8 year old daughters dressed up like women and to perform on stage singing and dancing. A child like the one on the video aged 10 or something lecturing adults about fractional banking is like a performing chimp. I am not amused and I am so sorry.

    Oh dear Stan
I never thought about that. But child prodigies --- they are little tiny adults doing and saying what most can't. And sadly but gladly, I "brainwashed" every one of my kids toward morality.

I would agree with you Alie brainwashing children towards morality is acceptable in my universe. But not however to do it for other negative reasons. I don't really believe you brainwashed your children you taught them and that is a huge difference. Let's not get too into the semantics.

Prodigy or not-- one day this child will wish childhood, with its guiltless pleasures, had lasted longer. Joy is a part of childhood that we often forget is of huge importance for the child's future resilience. This does not look like a happy child. Slightly smug maybe, but happy--- no.

Confused. This was a little girl, right? So who is James Martinez?

I agree with what you say here Ellisa. When my children , both girls were growing up I was a very political person but I never spoke to my children about politics. They were children for God's sake. I didn't want to spoil their childhood with political stuff. Never. I allowed them to be children. They learnt morality by listening to what their parents were talking about.

There are many considerations here. I was nine when I decided I wanted to sing opera. At ten I was practicng about three hours a day. I learned to sing in 8 different languages. My parents called it caturwalling. They never attended a performance and never did anything in any way to support my dreams.

I was reading at four and by 7 I was reading a book a day taking out 14 books every two weeks from the book mobile. Only once was I asked to prove I read them. Being smart and talented is not a picnic. Everyone has an opinion of the right way. I was eight when I bit a teacher over this--she clawed me. What you need to remember is that you don't know how this child thinks or feels.
    Beware the axis of sanctimony.
