Specialized knowledge? I think it is more of a kindergarten-level skill. :~) I believe that we have made the mistake of believing that there are specialized skills in being an elected official. ...It's the same with the argument of whether changing the electoral system is really worthwhile if you still have powerful parasites pulling the strings from far above/beyond government level. Actively participating in reforming the government we can see, and focusing on the good we have in common, is one way to counter the parasites. Those kinds of parasites feed off of our apathy and the conflicts between us that distract us from our higher and kinder, creative selves. ...
There are 9 ways the Elite control the whole electoral paradigm (the path into office - see The Reset Button document on about page 18) and 2 additional ways they control people once in office: lobbying and the congressional subcommittee system. All 9 pathways are addressed in The Reset Button, and both of the issues that are not election reform-related are addressed in the "Candidate Positions on Issues" which every candidate would have to directly address in writing, and which are listed as critical issues.

If the Elite's 9 "strings" controlling candidates are severed and their 2 "strings" on elected officials are severed... how do they control the visible government? And, how can they maintain an invisible government if they lose the pathways? Where are the Elite's cracks to ooze back in through? In other words, the plan within The Reset Button is to remove the Elite from governance, take away all of their control pathways ("strings.")

Any new Elite control pathway discovered would be (I am assured, since blocking the Elite would be a foundational part of the mandate) identified and closed.

The powerful parasites would still be there, but all of their easy pathways to control the government would be gone, none of their lackeys would be in office. So, "YES!", changing the electoral system is really worthwhile. :~) It may not be as difficult to imagine as trying to imagine abundance that free energy would bring, but I'll bet most people would have a hard time imagining having a government 100% comprised of ordinary citizens with no corporate ties. The repercussions of that reality would be enormous, world-changing.

I suspect that the most common reaction to The Reset Button Movement document is "tl/dr." Here, maybe this will help:

    ● The US is an oligarchy (the rich and powerful control our governance)
    ● The rich and powerful control our governance by controlling election outcomes
    ● The rich and powerful control election outcomes by controlling elections and the entire electoral paradigm
    ● Elections are the pageantry in the "electoral paradigm" (elections, and all that leads up to elections)
    ● The rich and powerful control the entire electoral paradigm and control/own all corporate mass media
    ● There are 9 methods the rich and powerful use to control the electoral paradigm - the top 3 most powerful are not monetary
    ● The rich and powerful control the 2 duopoly parties (D and R), and make sure all others stay insignificant
    ● The rich and powerful will always control our governance - unless we citizens take control of elections
    ● The Reset Button document provides a plan and strategy for US citizens to take control of US elections

What is your own short list of the most important activism? Anti-war/pro-peace? Banksterism? Wealth consolidation? Green energy? Fracking, oil pipelines and oil trains? Living wage? Anti-Zionism? Police state? GMO? Whatever activism you see as important, the reason you are blocked in your activism is because citizens have no representation in government - only the rich and powerful are represented. Effective activism is impossible until citizens control our own governance.

    ● Pick a side: oligarchs or citizens
    ● Oligarchs will always control our governance - unless we citizens take control of elections

If you have read Wade Frazier's work, if you have researched COINTELPRO, or if you happen to have viewed the Ken O'Keefe video that I posted here, then you already know about infiltration as a tool to destroy an organization from within.

The Reset Button is not an organization. That is no accident; it was done purposely. There is no organization to infiltrate. The movement is based on a document (The Reset Button Document), not based on an organization or on individuals.

Movements have leaders. The Reset Button Movement does not have an individual leader. That is no accident; it was done purposely. There is no individual leader to kill, injure, threaten, subvert, blackmail or coerce. Each individual member of the movement, with the document, is equally a leader of the movement. It's your turn to step up to your role as co-leader.

Hi Dennis, I think we probably agree

But in context of that post of mine, from back in June, it's worth remembering that not all government is elected. A lot of people who do the day to day running of it, and consult or work alongside elected officials, do benefit from having specialised knowledge in various fields. Knowing how their decisions in those fields also affect other departments, industries and parts of the world can also become fairly focused/specific knowledge, i.e 'specialised.' And I figure those in a variety of professions/industries, from medicine to manufacturing to agriculture (the list continues) would rather deal with government representatives, elected or not, who understand their business well, over those who'd only bothered to glean a superficial understanding for the sake of a good TV sound bite. It's also beneficial to an elected representative to understand the history specific to their local community, its resources, landscape and culture, which is also fairly specialised knowledge.

One purpose of an elected representative is to learn who best to consult on matters that affect the populace. That in itself can become specialised knowledge. For example, knowing which environmental researchers, engineering professionals, and union members to consult over the building of a new factory/plant - or who best to consult for the clean-up of an oil disaster - or who to seek advice from for an emergency effort (like prior to and after storm devastation), etc. Again the list goes on. We elect them partly/precisely because we expect them to do that research with the increased resources they'll have access to.

That was all I meant by it.

Some elected officials do have reasonable knowledge and good sense but (as we know) have their hands tied by systemic corruption. Of course, there may be those in government who've spent hours, months or years gleaning information from corrupt or incorrect sources. All the more reason to elect intelligent people via a system that has safeguards against corruption – which is what you are trying to accomplish.

Re: this quote of yours (below)

Quote “I'll bet most people would have a hard time imagining having a government 100% comprised of ordinary citizens with no corporate ties. The repercussions of that reality would be enormous, world-changing.”
I heartily agree - a government composed of good-hearted people whose agenda was the benefit of all, including the planet, would be a remarkable and very natural phenomenon. The ways governments have been corrupted are actually the distortion, and bizarre, not the other way around. Probably why some of them are happy (aside from lining their pockets) to keep the populace busy and damaged (with debt-slavery, pollution, and poor food / medicine) so that we lack the strength to be our natural and compassionate selves. But we don't have to accept it.

From what I've read (off the forum) so far, various agreements such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership and Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership would seem to make corporations less accountable, more powerful, and the governments in their pockets less useful to both people and the good of the planet. Some politicians are openly opposed (to those kinds of agreements) but their power is fundamentally limited unless we reform government so it can be made of people who support them.

We really do need to eliminate any poisonous elitist influence over our hearts and minds, our cultures and governments.

Thanks again, for the efforts you're making Dennis.

I wish good things for you and all passing through

Thanks, Melinda. I wish good things for all of us, and know it will not just happen without a concerted effort by all of us.

    =============================

    (to everyone)

"Elite Entrenchment" - it's the OPPOSITE of "a government of the people, by the people, and for the people."

Can you see (do you realize) that after the 2016 election has come and gone, that (if citizens don't overturn the election system) virtually every single person in high office will still be a puppet of the Elite? Is it becoming clear that the way the Elite have elections controlled, that they will make damn sure the status quo does NOT change?

It's never going to change (on its own.) We might as well give the Elite a standing ovation, right now, for yet another clean-sweep victory in 2016. The duopoly Syndicate is awesome to behold, nearly god-like in the breadth of its infection and metastasis of our governance, from their lofty perch above society.

    How do they do it?

How do they stay in complete control over us, election after election? (answer starts on page 18)

Is there any way to stop Elite Entrenchment and actually have a government of the people? (answer starts on page 29)

Hint: no one is going to join a movement that they don't know exists. If you want this to spread, figure out a few ways to spread it.

I think a reset button is a wicked awesome idea, Iceland did it best in my opion, petitioning will never work, if world wants to be free of the corrupt elete then we need to march in and physically remove them ALL and start fresh. Or we can keep talking about the problem and petetioning and hope it goes away.
    Just my thoughts

I wonder how Iceland physically removed the corrupt legislators without the removers getting shot by security/police/military.

Default Re: The Reset Button Movement

(from The Reset Button Movement document)
"There are numerous, huge issues from permanent war to green energy, from health to economics, from education to agriculture that US citizens must no longer allow corporatists, bankers, and militarists to control. We the People need to control those and all other issues that form the domestic and foreign policy of the United States. Once this critical first step – Election Reform (which is actually Electoral Paradigm Transformation) – is accomplished, then, ordinary citizens, not beholden to multinational corporations and international banks, can deal with these issues from a citizen-centric perspective. All of the major issues require that first, citizens must be in control of our own government and our own governance."

If you are at all familiar with The Reset Button Movement document, you've read this statement before. Please read it again.

I am 61 years old, and have been politically aware for 45 years. For the last 45 years, I have watched (mostly) and/or been part of attempts to beg for change, demand change, protest for change, call congressmen to try to persuade them to change, take the US government to Federal Court to try to legally force them to change, and of course, attempting to create the possibility for change by voting for specific candidates. There has been no change.

Well, let me rephrase that, because there has been change: the changes have been 100% corporate-centric, Elite-centric, ecocidal, and the war machine that is the USA, Inc. has metastasized both in size and malevolence. Prisons have become profit centers - some even have imposed contractual obligations on the government to keep the prisons filled. And fill them they have. Our food is poisoned, our water (even entire ancient aquifers) is poisoned, our air is poisoned. When the banks failed, the US government simply shifted the burden onto US citizens. We are still burning oil/gas and coal for our energy, stifling and suppressing non-polluting technologies.

NONE of the change that has occurred is citizen-centric, ecological, peaceful, or healthy.

I don't think you need to be a visionary to see that everything that political activists have tried to do so far has not worked, and will never work.

We are completely controlled by the Elite (financial elite and power elite.) Completely controlled. Everything done politically is in the interest of the Elite.

How do they do it? How do the Elite stay in control of our governance year after year, no matter what any political activist or political activist group has tried? Isn't that question the key question to unraveling their power/control structure? How can we possibly think we are going to come up with a plan and strategy to gain control of our own governance if we don't even understand how the Elite hold that control? It is NOT just money! Money is just the most visible, the most overt way they stay in control. The Elite stay in control of us by controlling the election system! They control every aspect of it, and they quietly pre-select the entire pool of candidates - and then let them fight it out and let us choose one of them.

Did you really think it is just coincidence that election after election, the viable candidates are all aligned with the agenda of the militarists, banksters, and corporatists? It's not a coincidence - it is the plan and strategy of the Elite to control election outcomes to ensure that all political changes and all political policy is aligned with the Elite.

If you are wondering how the Elite control elections, an in-depth analysis shows that there are 9 ways. A citizen-based movement for real change, positive change, must understand how the Elite control election outcomes if we are ever going to stop them. You can read about those 9 ways here (http://www.resetbuttonmovement.org/D...ButtonFull.pdf) in a PDF file from The Reset Button Movement. (Jump to page 18 of the document.)

There IS an alternative to The Reset Button Movement's success.

    You're living it right now.

Dennis, I came across an article that was posted three days ago: https://www.superstation95.com/index.php/world/753

The article is titled "China Orders Banks to Stop Purchasing US Dollars".

    Part of it says this:
"While three sources for this story claim they were told that this is an effort to stem the outflow of capital, a different source says something altogether different is taking place: the belief in China that the US Dollar is now worthless and will soon totally collapse as a currency, leaving everyone who holds dollars, broke. That's why China is doing everything it can to shed US Dollar currency. The way it's being done, however, is a "useful guise" for the Chinese to prevent the collapse from taking place too early and leaving them stuck with trillions in useless US dollars."

Coupled with the Canadian dollar dropping below 70 cents US, and the drop in oil-per-barrel price, I was wondering if this was indicative of things moving faster.

To put this thread back on track, after a derailment attempt:

The Reset Button Movement DOES NOT seek to change the form of governance of the US, nor to eliminate the US government altogether. Regardless if I personally would want to be part of an effort to change the form of government, it is folly, fantasy, to even imagine going directly from the current form of government to another. Anyone who thinks that a change in the form of government could be accomplished while the exact same psychopathic Elite and their minions control the current government is delusional.

The Reset Button Movement seeks to take the control over elections away from the Elite.

    Period.

It's not an "end game" move. It's a new beginning. After US citizens have complete control over elections and transform the electoral paradigm to keep the Elite out of political control, maybe that is enough. Maybe it would be enough to actually have a "government of the people, by the people, and for the people" - which is simply a false slogan now, there has never been a government of the people in US history. Never. Nor is the US a "republic" or "constitutional republic" or "democratic republic" except on paper. Again, that is simply the Orwellian tactic of the Elite controllers of the US telling slaves that they are free, of telling citizens that they are represented, and repeating it over and over until the populace is brainwashed into believing it is true.

Maybe that is not enough for your own personal desire to have a different form of government (or no government.) OK, fine. That is a different discussion, and does not belong in this thread about a plan and strategy to take control over elections away from the Elite. However, if you'll use logic instead of emotion, you'll realize that the militarist/bankster/corporatist/oligarchic cabal that currently controls the US government is NOT going to allow a change in the form of government! The ONLY chance of that EVER happening is if the citizens of the US control elections first, and transform the electoral paradigm to keep the Elite from swooping right back into power.

So, whether you just want real elections where the candidate pool is not selected by the Elite and beholden to the Elite and aligned with the Elite, or if your focus is on changing the form of government, it should be pretty easy to see that it remains impossible while the malevolent cabal controls elections, election outcomes, and governance.

"The Reset Button" and "The Reset Button Movement" have always been confusing names for what this movement is attempting (to put US citizens in control of our own governance, by first having US citizens take over the US election system.)

    So, what about:
    Citizens Control Elections™
    CitizensControlElections™
    CitizensControlElections.org™
    CitizensControlElections.com™

and the proposed legislation would become, "The Citizens Control Elections Act of 2017™" or whatever year that people finally get fed up with being controlled by the .01%

    Citizens Control Elections Act™

(The "TM" symbol, "™" is a legal - and free - way to claim a trademark, then once you pay a fee and submit it to the USPTO, then the symbol is changed to the "registered" symbol "®". The only reason I'm doing this is to establish that it was publicly presented on 2017.01.26 - it has absolutely nothing to do with anything monetary or monetizing a movement, just keeping trollish people from mischeif.)

Astrologer Ang Stoic speaks of a big "reset" in his latest prediction here:
    http://projectavalon.net/forum4/show...=1#post1130501

Quote Humanity is at a huge reset point. Hope becomes the key to our positivity through this next few months. But we must not get too ahead of ourselves. We are selectively entering into the Meditative Stillness. In this space, those journeying most consciously are able to contact angels, ascended masters and other spirit guides to assist them to see humanity’s course most clearly. They are also learning how to choose not to react to negativity, and in this they practicing their ability to avoid the dreadful karma that comes from blindly acting in negative ways. Are you one of these?

The Aquarian Sun/Moon convergence resonates with an awareness that all problems encountered by humans today are actually here for the purpose of furthering humanity’s spiritual evolution. We must either take any adversity, blockage or frustration, whether personal or public, as an opportunity to grow out of our negativity and dismay. Unless we take a proactive approach to what we experience as negative, divisive, crazy, unenlightened, etc., the same problems, or variations of them are likely to repeat, possibly with much more devastating outcomes. It’s no good trying to shut the problem off, or running away from it. Karma, like the proverbial bad smell, has a way of stalking us and catching up.

The Venus/Chiron combination’s exact semi-square to the New Moon creates events (both personal and global) where we are somehow able to see the true, underlying value of all things that come to our attention.

Look at what’s happening in your life.
    Look deeply into it.
    See the people around you.
Look into their core, can you see their soul?
Perhaps you should try this. Inside each person lives a light of consciousness.
If you can connect with that, you have a better chance, not only of creating a better, more positive connection, but together aim to reach a more harmonious, co-creative moment.
    Check it out…

At this amazing moment, it serves our intention for this Aquarius New Moon to channel our ability to see and transmit love everywhere and in everything. We must maintain a strength and purpose to stay and work from a place of acceptance and forgiveness, and try to find the positive lesson in even the most challenging of experiences. Through a vigilant presence we form ‘friends’, with whom we will slowly co-create a soothing, calming effect upon the planet. The humanitarian, more altruistic elements of Aquarius, when combined with the forgiving, compassionate elements of Pisces can assist in the healing of selfishness upon this planet. In the end all things must change. After all, life is simply a series of cyclical and spontaneous progressions. We must learn to overcome our resistance to these, otherwise we are destined to be stuck in the grief and sorrow of a past moment. By coming to a deeper understanding that the root cause of all our suffering is our fear of letting go of the past, we can allow our future to flow naturally in the direction it must go.

I wonder how Iceland physically removed the corrupt legislators without the removers getting shot by security/police/military.
actually a key observation which hasn't really been addressed to my knowledge....
any other country has some very loyal hench-people who have no compunctions when it comes to enforcing the status quo.....amazing what people will do for money/privilege
pinochet's regime fall comes to mind as an example of solidarity amongst the people which is essential to any change that would matter
