Quote The queens diamond jubilee is also during the Venus transit window. No accident there. It's also a partial lunar eclipse. They need us to celebrate to harness more of that energy.
    No celebration coming from ME!

    (Slaps at face in disbelief)

That's Jello. Gelatin. And of course you eat it with whipped cream otherwise its reduced to the sort of crap they feed you in retirement homes.

Jelly is Jam or preserves with the solids removed!!! what is wrong with you people, no wonder you have a lizard ruling your country!! This is HER fault, she has deceived you into thinking that Jello is jelly, cookies are biscuits, and biscuits are scones, and pudding means anything for dessert, instead of custard, and that pissed means drunk instead of angry and I bet she's responsible for sticking lemonade into the beer!

Y'all need to get out that country and eat your biscuits with pork sausage gravy the way God intended if he weren't so busy saving the Queen. SHE"S not the one who needs to be saved...YOU DO! You eat pudding made out of blood for Christ's sakes, whose idea do you think that was!!

But I am curious enough to go make a cucumber sandwich.

There is nothing wrong with a community coming together and celebrating, a lot of people these days are anti-social and anything which gets people to come together, work together and have a day filled with laughter, love, good company and break bread with one another sounds good to me. It's a rare occasion a country comes together and celebrates together, most of the time it's full of division and the "Me" factor of consume now and think later selfishness. I would do this every day, shame it's just once every so often people come together like this. Oh and most people in England don't care for the Queen, they just like to celebrate and spend time with neighbours.

I think it is a shame that we only are really encouraged to get together and celebrate when it is in celebration of the Queen. (Here in England) There is an absolutely huge media push going on here in old' Blighty.

Don't be fooled. The Monarchy has a lot more control and influence than we are allowed to know. The currency you use bears her image. That is not just some sentimental gesture for the tourists.

The national holidays (holy days) are planned around their satanic energies, they plan hidden rites and put things into motion during these times. And of course the 'gods' always like to be venerated. So the Jubileee as someone noted elsewhere does fall during a frame time ideally used for rite-work June 1 - June 11th, that calendar which has been perverted from an older less unpleasant tradition runs in 11 day increments.

It setting perhaps the staging or pre-rite for whatever assholery they plan for the solstice which falls under the next 11 day increment and they of course need your particpation. A few dozen elitist arseholes cannot raise the sort of energy that vast millions can, they don't much care what sort of energy it is, they just need lots of it. They need YOUR particpation in keeping you a slave. And this is another way we unwittingly give up their power to them.

all National holidays the ones we are accustomed to celebrating, have people stirred by the media to invest in for 'pleasant , fellow ship reasons, even for reasons of love. Christmas frenzy. This alleged season of love is now preceded by an event called Black Friday here. Nice eh?

Christmas is no different than than the Jubilee which just means the have some righteously big rite planned that is plotted on a larger cycle than the usual annual holidays like Christmas and Easter.

I don't celebrate national holidays, at least not with the fervor that others do. I periodically take a nod to it but on my own terms, not theirs.

So Jack-- do you think a Head-of State would be cheaper than the present system?

I am, actually, not a monarchist, and it is interesting to be attacked as though I am. And I have become an Australian by choice, and am not an accidental Aussie like you.

We actually do agree that the British monarchy should be replaced in Australia with an elected Head of State, but the methods of choosing are what we may have disagreements on. In the Republican Referendum Mr Howard dudded us all by splitting the vote for a republic if you remember. We ended up voting not for a republic, but for the method of electing the Head of State. The slimy little weazel had perverted the will of the majority of the people yet again, and as usual we fell for it. Though actually my state, Victoria, did have a majority in favour. Had we all voted that way we would not be having this conversation now.

How do you read the fact that the Jubilee is a non-event in this country? Previously such things have been very high profile. Maybe the most of us here feel it has little to do with us, though I have to admit it does not seem that there is a huge call for our country to become a Republic. As usual apathy reigns.

As an exiled Brit, I care not a flying f*ck for this event or for the "royal" family. Here's the version of the national anthem I used to sing whenever I (rarely) found myself in a position of having to stand and sing ......

    God save our inbred kraut,
    long live our inbred kraut,
    God save the kraut.
    (dah di dah dah)
    Send her to Geeeeeermany,
    where she belo-o-ongs
    long to eat saussssages,
    God save the kraut.

(Apologies to my German brethren !!!!!)

But a look at the farcical shenanigans in America tells us that a republic would be no better (President Blair ? NO THANK YOU). We need career politicans as much as we need syphilis. I prefer the idea of a head of state who is there to serve. What the Poles used to do was import their king from elsewhere, a person who was not predjudiced toward or against any of the feudal barons who really ruled the land, and who could therefore, hopefully, provide a unifying force. (Slightly tongue in cheek here folks). Or of course, we could have a British person who was well loved and/or respected

Here are my suggestions for the next monarch (Americans - will you please please please, get it into your heads that there is no such thing as "the Queen of England", the last such person was Elizabeth I):

Pele, Kylie Minogue, Dennis Lilee (my fave), Bobby Charlton, Francois Pienaar, Garreth Edwards, Billy Conolly

Sorry, I'm not particularly up to date on celebrity cults, hence the short list !!! Any other suggestions ?

Yeah Kylie! But too many soccer people I think.

Lille would be OK--- but he hasn't got the moustache now and he is bald (not that there's anything wrong with that) But Billy would be great--- no one would understand a word he said which would probably be good.

However there's only one possibility for the Oz Head of State--- Gary Ablett (jun)--- (though he is bald too- there's a theme here!) He and Ms Minogue could share-for gender balance--- Kylie and Gary!!!

At least with an elected person you don't have them for life!

Freddy Mercury is the only Queen I respect.

I have always bitched the queen, then one day I was strolling near Buckingham Palace and some police on bikes started stopping traffic and I was forced to wait as this large glassed
    windowed car slowly passed me.
And there was Phillip and the queen in plain view not more than 3 meters away and I stuck my thumbs up and the queen waved and Phillip also stuck his thumbs up and winked.
I just laughed and went to the pub and with my last pound I stuck in a fruit machine and I won 60 pounds. Reptilian power !!

At least the Windsors are fairly neutral nowadays and hardly ever bother us. They are also cheaper than having to provide for a Head of State for ourselves. The GG is very much more affordable than a potentate would be, and we are stuck with what we have until we get our act together!
Don't you know Australia is part of the Commonwealth and we answer to the 'Crown' even our Politiciians swear allegiance to Her Majesty 'The Queen' not to the Australian people..!

They place their hand on the Bible and Swear to uphold the Laws of the Crown, Queen & Commonwealth not the Australia and its people..!

Quote Certain public office holders in Australia such as the Governor General and members of both houses of federal parliament are required to make one of the oaths.[2] The words of both the oath and affirmation are attached as a schedule to the Constitution.[1][3]

The Oath of Allegiance reads as follows:

I, A.B., do swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Victoria, Her heirs and successors according to law. SO HELP ME GOD!
The Affirmation of Allegiance reads as follows:

I, A.B., do solemnly and sincerely affirm and declare that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Victoria, Her heirs and successors according to law.

As per the schedule in the Constitution, the words "Her" and "Queen Victoria" are substituted as required with the pronoun and name of the reigning monarch.

So to just laugh it off and say...

Is what got me really annoyed, hence my response..!

    They "Don't Bother Us"..?

Every heard of Crown Land, Property Taxes, etc..?

We don't even own our own Homes & the Land they were built on even if you've paid off your mortgage! The Crown at anytime can repossess that Land indiscriminently at their choosing!

My apologies for my intial post, upon reflection it was a little harsh. But I just get so frustrated when people who should know better make such aloof commentary...

'England' is just a part of the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom is England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Her realm also includes 15 other Commonwealth countries...she's not doing too bad!

I know we're not best buddies, Jack, but as a Brit I'm compelled to comment. I agree with you. I've seen the sort of British people abroad you described, and that sort of behaviour disgusts me. It's also so ironic and senseless. We're not all like that at all. Take the young man in the clip for example. I'm guessing there are probably 'types' of Australian you wouldn't necessarily want to be associated with. Some ignorant Brits do have the ridiculous idea that they're somehow entitled to behave in a superior way when in someone else's country, but not all. I don't think you'd ever catch Bill Ryan doing that for example. There are lots of things I love about Britain, and about being British - but none of them have anything to do with elitism, snobbishness or royal families. Diamond jubilee? Couldn't care less.
...ditto Borden, I think as a country we are becoming less and less deferential, and it it will interesting to see what happens when (and if) the Scottish get the vote to decide whether they want to be a part of the UK...my son now lives in Australia and I have recently spent a month travelling there, I loved the easy going warmth and good humour the Auzzies have. But I was also aware of a sub-culture of ethnic minorities which was sad to see, it's the same here though. Maybe we humans have a need for a hierarchical system? I think that is changing and as we evolve we will see that it is not necessary and that we are all equal and have worth.

Lol, this is a great story and it really made me laugh. Wouldn't it be good if luck were contagious?

I love Freddie Mercury. The good thing about being English is at least we hate everything lol. An elected head of state would be no more or less hated than a hereditary one... it seems to be the English way to hate all in those positions. Granted they have probably earned it, but we don't even give them a few weeks to get up and running to see if they're going to be any different lol.

"Cameron's a ****, Clegg's a ****... and Miliband'd be a **** if he had the chance" is probably the closest we English get to a national anthem lol

All things are subject to intepretation, and whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.
