Default This "sea floor collapsing" video will make you laugh

    Hi, All:

Do watch this three minute video. This is going viral - showing the Gulf of Mexico "sea floor collapsing". Thousands of YouTubers are going nuts.

The funny part is the commentary from the guy on the video. It's a great illusion, and for a moment it all looks believable, but when you stop and realize that the camera is bolted immovably to the ROV and that it's the ROV that's moving, it all becomes very funny.

None of what I've just written will mean anything to you yet, but watch the video - and then come back and read this again. Then watch it again!

    Enjoy....

This video also showed up in the " Latest Updates - (Please only post VIDEO or AUDIO here) " thread ...

Fortunately it did not get much responses and was quickly debunked: https://projectavalon.net/forum4/show...ll=1#post41245

    Apologies! I missed it.

But the commentary is so hilarious (and, after a moment's thought, what's really happening is so obvious), I do think it deserves its own thread.

No problem of course ... the reason you probably missed it is because nobody jumped on the fear mongering bandwagon ... I think it's a good sign for this forum and it's members.

lot of us have learnt from recent events to apply liberal amounts of caution to anything that has any labels like " urgent" "make this viral" and other such emotive terminology designed to push the "save the world, time is of the utmost importance , " no matter how many !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'s are included in the schpeel introducing this as the"most important video", stuff like , "banned " , "secret" , "leaked" all now for me cause an iinstant deep breath

    ¤=[Post Update]=¤

the last series of events have actually assisted people to put thier discernment gear on , though there are still some that are in sports mode and when handed a ball run with it like they've been trained and conditioned to do , lot more to sports that we are lead to believe lol

    ¤=[Post Update]=¤

what would happen in football energy wise, if we just let them have that ball, refused to run with it , there's more to it , big picture stuff

Mmmm I'm not convinced Bill....if you look very carefully at 1 min 30 secs onwards the ROV punches a hole presumably into the ground, then the ground raises above the point where the hole was punched without any equipmant moving, also causing lots of debris around the equipment, so its difficult to see if the ROV moved in an upward direction...

Illusion?? not sure... Perhaps Mother Gaia was taking a deep breath!!

Viking, the camera and the 'equipment' (the ROV's remove arms) are all bolted together firmly on one solid frame.

The seafloor doesn't 'move up'. The ROV (with the camera) angles down!

It's always the camera (bolted to the ROV) that's moving.

Now watch it one more time again....

Wonderful ! More bedtime stories... Just shows you, if someone can speak convincingly enough...if they believe enough, that feeling can be contagious. Regardless of the facts...a lot of these vids rely on the same kind of misdirection that magicians use. It's just not always so apparent as in this case.

The UFO disappearing into the water is another such 'marvel'...because we believe in UFOs and we believe they can do marvelous things, it's easy to believe a vid when it shows UFOs doing marvelous things. Not often that we se a vid of a UFO parked up in a layby with the occupants eating mozerella and ham sandwhiches, because that would be, well, too ordinary.

You have to raise your guard when you read the news paper and they show pictures to go along with it ... or same thing on the news.
Showing pictures at the same time as somebody is telling what you see is a very convincing tool in most cases.

It's exactly what a magician does ... he tells you what you should see ... watch it again without sound ... you'll see different things.

    Nice one Bill,

The clue to the hoax is the fixed arm/rigging on the right hand side of the camera, good fun though.

    Love and peace. JP

Am I totally missing something? Both a friend of mine and I have watched this over and over and over again, and neither of us can see the ROV doing anything except staying completely still. Not that I don't believe the rest of you are seeing it so easily - there just must be something we're missing.

Yeah it's all over GLP. I really can't stand that place. So much negative energy, hatred and bad spellers. I'm just trying to balance my polarities but that's just not a good place to go unless you're prepared to laugh. ATS isn't much better.
