Default What tools have you used on your path? Quickest route to cut through the crap?

    Hello people,

I feel grateful for living at this point in time. I am fortunate because of the rapid rate at which i have access to information. Information about everything i could possibly think of. This information allows me to explore healing techniques, sample any number of spiritual disciplines, and visit any kind of spiritual wisdom.

In the past five years i've been trying to get my **** together emotionally and spiritually. I've done more workshops and stuff than most of my peers and yet when it comes down to it im no more evolved or healed or whatever than someone who has not done any work. Yeah im a bit miffed right now. Im frustrated by my lack of progress. I seem to be more stuck now than i ever was.

Ok end of self pitiful rant. My question to people here or more a series of questions are :

What tools/practices have been for you the most efficient at cutting through the crap?

What in your life has made the most difference to becoming a happy life loving individual?

If you could recommend one thing to do to improve ones state of happiness what would it be?

    thanky you for your time,

    KM

understanding what you are, the problem is once you get that, putting the body into the condition it is supposed to function at, is way beyond most people

I don't think people will ever be 100% "healed, evolved, or finished." I think the journey is more important than the destination - just change your expectations so you are happy NOW, not in some future time.

It's a process. You can do all the workshops and read all the books that you want, but it's really about integrating the "a-ha" moments into your life. Once your perspective changes, you can't go back to where you were, but you have to accept that you are responsible for your actions/attitude/behavior.

    Hi King Monkey,
If we are to work through, or up from a lower state of crap, off sheer and complete despair.
    May I suggest;
Acts of spontaneous kindness to immediately lift ones energy, through service to others.
    To clarify;
a recent shocking-bereavement left this one devastated, no counsel, no mantra and no bandha-breath exercise could remove this desperate pity. In tears I asked the question what can i do to lift this bottomless, lonely, misery.
Immediately and within half an hour i had undertaken two simple activities that had relieved someone else's suffering burden. These actions instantaneously removed the despair and returned this self to a stable point of clarity, but more importantly the other parties felt happier.

    kingmonkey--

So many to choose from, but this one thing has given me more peace and
    understanding than anything else:

Accept everything (including yourself) as being completely okay.

This is about loving, not liking (which is ego based).

If you do this, there will be no cause to quarrel with anyone or make yourself feel bad or carry heavy, unloving feelings toward anything, and thus you are able to be who you are--a loving light being dressed in a human body.

And just because you make everyone right, doesn't mean you agree with or especially like everyone and everything. We all have our preferences and our own points of view.

    Suggestions:
---Remind yourself that everything is a facet of All That Is and shows you
who you are being in the moment.

---Notice your own physical and mental experience and decide if it's in keeping
with who you are and who you want to show up as.

---Remember: Nothing is good or bad, but thinking makes it so.

    Works for me! Best wishes.

    Peace Love Joy & Harmony,
    Genevieve

P.S. I strongly agree with the other posters who have pointed out that performing acts of kindness can be very healing and refreshing to our own spirit.

Love everybody and everything. Not the easiest of tasks but definitely a part of me that is growing and will continue to grow with my conscious effort. I think asking a lot of questions in the direction you want to go is helpful too but making sure you remember whats most important in your life and continously growing or going a little extra every day in that direction if you wish to grow or go in that direction is important.

If it is'nt continously growing it could be dying and if its as important as spiritual or consciousness growth you definitely want to make sure its growing.

    Thanks for the great post

Shamatha meditation. Meditating on the breath. Centering and grounding effect results in learning how to still the mind and stop the flow of thoughts.

You'd get a lot more of the reward of those teachings and disciplines if you'd pick one and just do it.
One way or another it's going to be some form of autolysis, whether you're figuring out 'whose' navel or whose ankles are you sending your breath to.
It's self discovery and self awareness, however that occurs for you. Mind training like ACIM is fast and not too confusing if you stay out of the politics of the establishment, and don't pay too much attention to teachers.
Just do the lessons. That's the last thing anyone ever does.
Actually reading the instructions is the last thing.
Or even EST, if you can set your goals higher than ruling over your little world and keeping your numbers right. Ask to be the Christ for christsake, and you will be. No joke.

But I think meditation would be good for you right now, because you're a little confused about what it is you're after.

    King Monkey...

    Stay away from negative people...

My belief is that "there is no easy way to cut through this crap".

If it were easy...then it wouldn't be a test, ...would it?

Post Re: What tools have you used on your path? Quickest route to cut through the crap?

    Hello King Monkey,

I dont consider any phase of my path to have been wasted or "crap", I consider every phase, if you like, to have contributed to my outlook today, it did however take some years to get to where I find myself and I feel I needed those years to investigate wherever I was led. No shortcuts - dont be in a hurry, the journey is now, enjoy it or you are wasting the precious gift of life at this time, you came to learn so embrace the process. I cant imagine going somewhere without first having to travel there.

As with above posts, I agree that acts of kindness are good for all concerned. To add to this however, I was fortunate early in my life to know that I desired a career path as a health professional and my work brings much joy to my life.

You could also find something that you are passionate about and incorporate it into your lifestyle- you may need to try different things- thats a benefit of youth- time to play with !

Thank you for all your useful answers.

I guess im wallowing a bit in self pity at the moment thinking about all the stuff that is wrong with my life instead of accepting what is and being grateful for what is.

Im being all inpatient at the moment.

Id like to write a proper reply but its late now. Thanks for the answers guys and gals. Goodnight!

I seem to be going back to my earlier years and enjoy doing things l did back then. I can't wait to get out from work or any buildings I'm in and enjoy the outdoor nature. I used to spend time sitting high up on trees and I guess didn't realize it back then but meditating. I have this inclination to do it again. I know this is my last time on this planet.

Presence...fastest tool to awakening (in my own situation). Though not as safe or simple a path as the other ways. It comes with a certain level of risk. So up to the practioner to decide if they can deal with the fall out (as I am currently)..with this particular brand of 'waking yourself from dreaming reality verses being the creator of your reality'.

(verses; meditating, yoga, chanting, sex/tantra, left hand path)

Authenticity (not focusing on being 'nice', or good or bad. ) Not roles, or dramas or archetypes, or defining purposes that may be incorrect and limit my beingness.

    Preserving one's core of innocence.

Staying out of judgement values like positive and negative, good and bad, evil and divine and relegating such circumstances as a choice to be made or not made.

Excavation of core values and beliefs.

Losing the need to manage unconscious expressions of power and energy.

Density is expressed exactly as that-dense. The opposing value of light is dense and heavy not darkness.

More answers are found in leveraging the dark than basking in the light.

Clearing of consciousness rather than expanding it.

    managing one's emotions.

Knowing and information are not the same thing.

Acceptance one's higher intelligence rather than dramas or stories.

Not being pulled into or victimized by other people's stories.

Knowing there is no higher self authority for myself than myself.

    Self acceptance.

    Knowing where I came from.

    Staying away from 'belief's.

Search and destroy of beliefs I may be unconsciously holding.

Clearing of contracts and agreements, and daily monitoring so I am not developing more.

Challenging myself to exceed limited potential vectors.

Not denying the physical body but allowing a higher expression to influence it.

Awareness of artificial installations and how programs run.

Avoiding limiting traps that are not states of being or expressions like shaman, medicine woman, psychic, medium ensuring they remain expressions and not labels and not allowing others to obligate me with such labels.

No is equally valid as yes.

Solution is more often found in disagreement than agreement and has nothing to do with positive or negative.

Not denying the ego but mastering it.

Knowing what light , dimensions, and vibration actually mean and creating circumstances for them to express.

Managing my mind so it's not managing me.

Identifying that what sounds good is not necessarily the truth.

Knowing that abilities have nothing to do with being awake or enlightened or 'special'

Managing my abilities so they aren't managing me.

    Self value.

Reclaimation of self authority not just on the physical level but on all levels.

    Creating circumstances.

Trusting my discernment to be absolute.

    Knowing over thinking.

Demonstrating these in my own life rather than just leaving them as talking or thinking points.

Essential oils (plant spirit helpers) to lift energetic denseness.

    Animal teachers.

    Preservation of what is real.

just stay on the path my friend...there will be many twists and turns as we go..some pull u far away and some not so much but the best thing is you can recognise when u get pulled out..just re-center yourself and stay on the path..remember..the most you can do for others is to stay in a high as place as you can be..it's not easy.. ..sometimes..

Actually, techniques by themselves will get you nowhere. The reason for this is that techniques are always totally about:

    “How …?”

That’s the wrong question here. The right question (in true spirituality) always boils down to:

    “What …?”

The “What … ?” question always means that you’re really, truly listening, really truly watching, to see what’s there. Totally open, totally letting go. Always accepting what you get, however much it seems wild or to be coming from left field.

As Sherlock Holmes used to say, when you’ve eliminated all the false stuff, whatever’s left must be the truth, it must be reality. Never mind how bizarre or brilliantly beautiful or painful it may be. Trouble is, most people have been extremely dulled, or extremely dulled themselves, from daring to see “What” is truly there. And, indeed, “What” a glorious and powerful being they truly are.

And you know what? I happen to have discovered (for myself) that life gets a lot more beautiful, a lot more interesting, once you really and continually dare to do this. Things which to the people around you seem boring or petty or mundane or a burden, to you become fascinating challenges. That’s because you’re seeing the true nature of things. Life can never lose its spice for you, not even for a day, once you really begin to do that.

Dare to keep jumping into the abyss. Dare to let go and leave everything you thought you were behind, as far as practicable.

Freedom means an intense, neverending willingness: to find out for yourself what's true, to just do that now, and to change totally in a heartbeat.

It's always far more dangerous for you not to keep taking that plunge into the complete unknown, again and again and again.

(True, deep) stillness is the way.
