I've done more workshops and stuff than most of my peers and yet when it comes down to it im no more evolved or healed or whatever than someone who has not done any work. Yeah im a bit miffed right now. Im frustrated by my lack of progress. I seem to be more stuck now than i ever was.
I know the feeling.... It actually took me 20 years of "working on myself" before I experienced a major break through. I am so greatful stubborness is part of my nature!

A technique I find useful is EFT, or tapping. It is very easy to do. When I feel fear I do a few rounds of tapping. Sometimes I can release the fear, sometimes it only helps a little. But it is something very "hands on", and when I am overcome by fear I reallly want to DO something.

Apart from that; being in the NOW - Eckart Tolle.

Have patience. I sometimes think of myself as a sculptor, bringing forth my essence. For years I am chipping away on the marble and hardly anything happens, then all of a sudden a big chunk falls off....

My answer to your question might not be what you're looking for but for me it was turning things around. I already had a problem with being too spiritual, I just didn't have a clue how to get a long in this world. So for me much time has been spent just learning to graciously accept what this life has to offer. Just learning to live in my own skin. I personally had to do a lot of healing work on myself because of early life traumas that were affecting my emotional responses to just life in general. A lot of floundering around ensued but even through this alot was learned about myself and other people. I mean, to me, that's what it's really all about is learning to truly love the self which means having to de-program yourself somewhat from the matrix, enough to get a good look at the real situation, whatever that may be for me or anyone else. And then learning how to get along with those around you. I too took a lot of workshops over the years and aquired many tools, then reached a point where I just have to use them.

To make a long story short, I guess my point is that for me there was no short cut to self improvement. It took years of using many tools to finally be able to say I see substantial improvement in the way I relate to this world and my experience of being here. I don't think now that there is any one right way. Reminds me too much of my rigid, overly religious but non the less very dysfunctional parental figures from my early life. No thank you very much.

One of the most amazing things I did along the way was to embark on my version of a vision quest of sorts, it was for me anyway. This was in 1993 and I planned for it for about 6 months. I had been having a variety of strange health symptoms and in our modern medical view's infinite wisdom they wanted to start treating symptoms without having a clue what was really going on with me. So, I quit smoking cigarettes, made some dramatic changes in my diet, and started applying more of what I knew about using herbs to promote health etc, and low and behold, all my strange symptoms went away. I wanted to fast for several days while spending time alone in a wilderness setting and really just focus my intent on receiving answers to some of my questions about just what the hell is really goin on here. I was hypoglycemic so I spent about 6 months trying to prepare myself for what I knew would be a physical shock to myself. It just so happened that on my chosen dates the weather had turned very wet and rain was forcast for the next several days. I went anyway, just taking a tarp, sleeping bag, journal, and warm clothing, plus some fasting tea. Not to bore you with details but it turned out to be an amazing life changing experience that actually did initiate a much greater pace of positive change in my life and really didn't cost me anything. Most of us fear the unknown to some extent and truly, in many ways our future is unknown, no matter how hard we try to see what lies ahead. I would say any path that helps you face your inner fears is a good one that should produce results.

Personally I thought Inelia Benz's fear processing in order to expand ones awareness to one of infinite love and light towards source was the complete package for me.
I'm quite surprised many people have not embraced this knowledge, given its simplicity and infinite potential in all dimenesions.
Well it certainly resonates with me in this very, very confusing and complex change or shift that we're all experiencing. We need some certainty right and her solutions do that for me IMO.

Wow. This thread is so packed with so much good, thoughtful advice that I hesitate to add anything further. So at the risk of echoing others, I will assay this one tool:

Accept yourself. Just as you are now, lumps and all, the whole you. There’s no need to fight your nature or run away from yourself by wishing you were “someone else who is perfect [whatever that may be!]” Embrace – and forgive – yourself for being who you are and where you are. It’s okay.

We are all on a journey; a process; an evolution. No matter how much you learn about yourself, there will always be another lesson somewhere. It takes many lifetimes, and our own progress is sometimes invisible to us.

Sure, it’s good to have a goal, an idealized image of where you are going. But don’t let that goal cause you to reject yourself in the process of moving forward. You can only begin to make real progress toward that goal of love and acceptance of all around you by beginning with true acceptance of that which is closest to you: your own self.

    And then,

    • continue to practice whatever tools or methods you’ve already discovered are helpful to you. We don’t usually need to learn anything more; we only need to do what we already know.

And it’s in the doing that our lives – and selves - will evolve.

    All my best wishes,

    Selene

Tons of great answers here. Here is my 2 cents. One thing I have learned along the way (although I still forget about sometimes),,,,is....When you get stuck, just ask. Ask your higher power, whatever (whoever) it may be, for help and guidance, and the answers will eventually come. Sometimes I struggle over something for weeks, before I remember this, and I will ask for help, I will admit that I need help, and I usually get it. I hope this is helpful. You ARE one the right track my friend, never stop believing in yourself.

Something to think about is you've had your patterns that make up you as you are. It's not that you're more stuck, its that you have more awareness of your stuckness. Without going down the path that you have, ie the workshops and stuff, you would have been where you are now, just without the awareness part.

As for the tools, I've been exploring one called balancing which its like the Arthurian legends, facing your dragons. It works on connecting with the subconscious and changing/shifting the patterns that were useful in the past (ie, child logic, etc) and now are hindrances to my moving forward. It releases that old energy so that it can be formed/shifted into new patterns. I've had some great results so far.

I personally don't relate to Inelia, when she talks about anything other than her psychic gifts. Not saying other's don't do. I just don't see her as the total (awakened) package, just one part of it.

ps: Probably because she is a walk-in (does she even relate to herself that way??? ...anyway...it came up on one talk I heard...) and karmically that still resides in her...but just hypothesizing.

pss: there are two other pretty good teachers of this type of information (though they don't talk about the psychic side of this)...and they are walk-ins as well (only one sort of admitting it...again, came up in one interview I listened too....the other one I remote viewed and figured out on my own). Is this beginning to be a pattern?

I guess you never really really know who you are getting into bed with (analogy?).

Delete BS threads like, Disclosure 7-12 Days. BREAKING......., and Drake clarifications.... these are BS pieces that are still up and running as if though we have bought into them. For Avalon's own credibilities sake, they should be shut down. This would be a refreshing start.

    Hi again King Monkey,

I just wanted to add another technique that I find really easy and useful - ho'oponopono

I use it sometimes when I find myself uncomfortable in a relationship. I repeat the phrases; I´m sorry, Please forgive me, Thank you, I love you - in my mind. I continue until I feel a softening in the heart area.

I´ve actually began to try it with people I don´t have a problem with, like someone infront of me in the queue at the supermarket. It is a way of SEEING them. And it is also a way for me to practice opening my heart.

It is a good technique, Ho'oponopono. I tried it a few times. A few things from it stuck with me.

If someone is interested in it, easy to google and find out about it.

This is somewhat off topic (though not really). But I had someone today, a chiropracter, telling me he is studying lots of these techniques with individual practioners in our area. Not chiropractic techniques.

You know, the regular, cranial-sacral, energy work and so on. He wanted to know how I did what I do. I didn't try to explain (I mean I was on his time) anything. Just noticing how this information (in this case healing...though for me it is all the same....consciousness, awareness, balance...and so on....all karma related topics) is getting out to the general public, at least here in Santa Cruz, CA.

ps: though he still had trouble adjusting (just saying....got me wondering if we want our chiropracters to not know how to adjust the old fashion yank and pull way....???still thinking about it).
I was trying not to stop him (he was trying to do cranial on me in the end....I mean to get my neck to move)....but I still kept thinking.....if he really was clueless? (I mean I do cranial type techniques...though highly evolved and so not so related to actual cranial any longer....all the time on my neck. It is just a loose piece of flesh now....not much celluar memory or restrictions....just plain old strain/sprain injury from too much TV).

    Hi ppl,

    Thanks again for the replies.

I've been reading over my opening post and reflecting on what my intention was when i wrote it.

I have to admit some of it was self pity and some of it was wanting for some kind of attention, which you guys have so gladly given me .

But basically i was in a mood of despair. I was kind of frustrated at my lack of progress in some areas of my life. But also was a theme of "poor me look at me my life is so bad". Well its good to reflect everynow and then.

@eileen rose - yes i really do think that at this time period we are being given so many ways and tools to heal. The multitude of modailites seems to be a way of allowing multiple ways of releasing baggage.

@ Swan As for ho'oponopono, i do occasionally use it. Mainly when i cant do anything else, when i cant tal kto the person, or when im on a train or something. Can't say i've ever had any big things happen with it as is claimed by the guy who wrote about dr hen lew. But it calms me down every now and then.

@Pharaoh - Sure there are lots of things that i dont agree with here on avalon, i just just don't waste my time reading threads that resonate with me. You are free to the same.

@665 plumber of the beast - look forward to your pm mate. Im currently also looking at rebirthing. One of my problems at the moment is being able to access my emotions and i've heard rebirthing is a good way to circumnavigate subconscious defences........

@Uli - Thanks for the reminder to just live life..... as for the difference between pre and post internet days do you think there is a difference in the quality of interaction, for example how does travel compare to being sat at a terminal exchanging ideas?

@Reirrac - Thanks. As for the awareness part this is the part im stuck on. Im great with the awareness part. You know theres a song lyric in a robbie williams song that goes something like " so self aware, so full of ****". Well thats me. Im acutely aware of ALL of my patterns and stuff, yet i seem to be utterly incapable of changing you know? It like the classic case of the dude who goes to therapy for 20 years and still is a neurotic wreck at the end of it.

    @Starchild - Thanks, i'll give it a go.

@Selene - Thanks - i needed the reminder to do this - acceptance is often cited as the precursor to any change. Afterall its the only thing sometimes.

@41Wiremu2011 - i dont remember seeing that exercise, but my memory is really bad and its a lond time since i watched her videos. So i will have to check her out.

@spiritwind - I still have a lot of healing work to do at the moment. I know that a lot of my current res[onses to life are trauma based ones. I guess that was one of my intentions for starting the thread. What is the quickest ways to resolve trauma. But also i recgnise i need to just live life aswell. I've got lost in my quest and forgot to smell the roses.

Now the vision quest! That does sound exciting. Can you tell me more. For months now i've been fantasising about doing something similar. Now theres not too many sweat lodges where i live but my idea was just to go to the middle ofno where with a tent and silence and see what happens. Do you have any advice about doing a vision quest.

puurfectten - Yeah i have that book on my shelf, i stumbled across it in a second hand book store and i just love the clip arty artwork in the book!

@9eagle9 - Ah your post is too long for me to reply to everything ! But thanks!

I have run out of time for now but i hope to reply to the rest of the posts later today!
