Default Rights abuses lead to creation of 'Stop and Frisk Watch'‏

They say, "Neccesity is the mother of invention". So, it's not a surprise that someone came up with a new app for cell phones that tapes thuggish cops in action. Right now it's just the Droid, but other phones will have it soon.

Quote Last fall, Jason Van Anden, a computer developer from Brooklyn, made an app called I’m Getting Arrested for Occupy Wall Street protesters. Now, he has designed an app for people who see other people who may be about to get arrested.

The Stop and Frisk Watch app, which Mr. Van Anden designed for the New York Civil Liberties Union, is intended to be used by community groups documenting stop-and-frisk actions by the New York Police Department. It is being distributed free for Android devices only; an iPhone version is expected this summer.
This came from an email from BrasscheckTv. There's more information on the link. The video is interesting....

Quote The solution to preventing crime is NOT to treat all free people
    like supects.

The police tactic of "stop and frisk" is abusive, because
as a practice it pretends there is no such thing as the Fourth
    Amendment.

They, of course, make claims that their abuses are for our own good.

For those of us who would prefer not to suffer quietly the abuse of
our rights, there are new ways being developed for documenting and
reporting abusive encounters with the police.

    Here's one of them...

    That's how we grow. Thanks.
WE need this app now more than ever. But it's not just thuggish cops that need to be caught in the act of doing illegal or violent things. ANYBODY committing a crime should be caught on tape.
Whatever it takes, we NEED to gain back our world.

Cool App! I'm sure it can be useful in many situations, e.g. at TSA checks in the airport & on the highway.
