Default Prime minister Noda restarts first Nuke regardless of large protest

All 50 Nuclear power plants in Japan had completely been shut down for a short while now. At least until yesterday when Noda declared restart of the Ohi-Nuclear reactor reasoning that possible blackout during peak summer period (due to insufficient electrical power) will affect the economy. Also, their thinking is that if they allowed this summer season to pass without a single nuclear plant in Japan running, this would prove that Nuclear power plants aren't needed after all. THIS is the sort of scenario they wish to avoid at all cost.

Insufficient power during peak summer period is a complete BS -- it is clearly evident and calculation of data (of power consumption of previous years) made public by the electric companies show that even at peak summer periods, the redundancy of gas, hydro, power generated and re-sold to Elec.companies by the private sectors including solar, provide more than enough and that the Nuclear plants are ABSOLUTELY unnecessary. At summer peak time, there is an excess of 13.5% (3,750,000Kw) not being used.

August 9th, peak summer temperature 2011 in Osaka was 35.6 degrees Celsius and usually never exceeds. However Kansai electric / JPN government set their summer predictions at 42.6 degrees Celcius (which is ludicrous) in their desperate attempt to justify their need to re-start the Ohi-Nuclear plant (located in Kansai).

The JPN govt (obviously being controlling by the big banks and organization/companies including Kansai/Tokyo Electric) must really think the people are stupid and can get away with anything..., well, maybe they have.... as history shows -- industrial contamination of the land, mercury poisoning of the people (Minamata disease), deforestation of the land, adding poison in our food, water, and drugs. JPN is just a subsidiary company of US.inc. with perhaps their HQ in the UK or Rome, who knows.

About 10,000 demonstrators gathered in front of the Prime ministers official resident to protest, but were unsuccessful in stopping the re-start.

June 22nd, about 45,000 protesters gathered in front of Prime minister building in Tokyo, protesting the re-start of the Ohi-nuclear power plant in Kansai.
Another major protest is planned for June 29th. Such demonstrations are not being shown on TV, major Japanese media (NHK) refrains from covering the story, and so independent organizations have chartered a helicopter to take aerial video of this major protest event and live-stream it over the internet 29th. Power to the people.

I always believed in the Japanese honor and integrity. Obviously, some of their leadership are no better than the slime the US has in its corporate ranks....

It doesn't look like the Japanese govt is listening to their people either.... I wonder if they're a corporation, too..... hmmmmmmm....

Bingo, I believe you've hit the nail on the head. This is disgusting news, simply disgusting, starting up nuclear power plants when they can't fix the deadly Fukishima mess.

Sierra, have you considered that they might have watched that video with that Calen Winsor talk, where he demonstrates that radiation poisoning is largely a myth?
We have a thread right here on Avalon. Dynamic stuff.
One just has to keep pregnant women away.
Also partly confirmed by our member Ski who lives in Tokyo ...

This is the thread. A video everyone ought to watch.
