Colorado Springs has experienced a wild fire of epic proportions. The fire is 5% contained and many resources are involved. The weather has extreemly hot with record highs yesterday. My home is not near the fire.

Over 240 homes have been lost in the fire in the northern part of Colorado. I ask that prayers for those who have been impacted and the people working the fire be offered. The following website link is a slideshow of the fire.

I will pray for both Dave and all of the good people of Colorado Springs.

I live in a wild fire danger area in N.California. Even if the fire itself doesn't get you the smoke will. We had a bad fire year here two years ago and it was smoky for almost three months. It was like smoking two packs a day of god knows what during that time. Our snowpack was only 40% of normal but so far the summer has been unusually cool.

This fire has been quite devastating. I spent a little over 2 months in Woodland park this past Dec, Jan and Feb. to visit a friend and write my book. It was incredibly dry and very little moisture for this time of year. I brought lots of warm cloths, but found myself in 79 degree weather in the middle of winter! My friend and I discussed how concerned we were about the upcoming fire season. Even the animals were coming down instead of hibernating due to the unusual warm weather.

Last I checked highway 24 is closed which is the main route into Woodland Park. They have closed down their Walmart and I believe the Safeway which are two of the only major stores in this town. Many business' have closed with the exception of Buck's a local hangout on the main drag. Gas pumps have been shut down so for the people that have stayed behind, this is a good test to see if they have the supplies needed for a major emergency as they have literally very little buying options as no one can go down or come up "the hill", which is 24. There have been fires burning on the other side of Woodland Park over in Deckers and Divide. These people are literally surround by fire and smoke with no where to go.

What will be equally devastating is the economic impact this will have on the area. Summer time in this region, I believe, is a 5 billion dollar industry that has been completely shut down. The current economy had not been as hard hit compared to the rest of the country, but now this event will be a game changer. These are beautiful peaks, parks and regions that tourist flock to every year for the experience......and now many will be burnt down to nothing. I can only imagine what the wild life is going thru as they are quite prolific especially in the Woodland Park area. I believe at one point there were 25 fires burning at once leading to speculation that some nut job was purposely starting them.

If I here anymore details from my contacts I will post. These people need much love and prayers to get them through this unbelievable event.

The size of the fire has almost tripled in the last 24 hours. The estimates are 16,000 acres have burnt with 5% containment.

The news has reported that no one has been hurt or killed. About 1000 firefires have been involved and 32,000 people evacuated from their homes. This is a miracle in my reality. Thank you for your prayers.

I lived in Colorado for 6 years and moved back to Washington 10 months ago. I pray for the beautiful state of Colorado to have rain to stop these wildfires of epic proportion. Let's all pray for rain!!!

Yes, one does wonder. Remember, last year a large part of Texas burned, too.

Colorado Springs used to be the home of NORAD. They had massive facilities built inside Cheyenne Mountain, but all of that got moved out of there over the last several years. I think they're under the Denver Airport now (but don't quote me on that...) or at least they're no longer inside Cheyenne Mountain, so those facilities are already cleaned out. There is still an Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. They evacuated that several days ago due to the approaching fires.

As I recall, Colorado has already been claimed as NWO elite territory (they already have a massive facility under the Denver Airport), along with the Mormons in Utah who have apparently been preparing whole new towns and making plans to be a self-contained territory of their own. (A Mormon presidential candidate, anyone? Any connections here?)

One does wonder. But in the meantime, rain, please!

My heart and prayers certainly go out to all the people of Colorado that are being threatened by fires and the brave men and women who are fighting them.

The Waldo Canyon Fire has been declared the worst in Colorado state history. The fire is 80% contained and the estimated containment date is the 12th of July. The current estimate has the fire damage at 28 square miles and 240 homes.

Yesterday I drove the route that the firefighers take to reach the fires. Over fifty people were standing on the sidewalk cheering the firefighers waving signs as they drove past. It was wonderful to see the appreciation for the firefighters.
