Is gluten the cause of eczema?

Note that I have read that tests for gluten intolerance are fairly inacurate. Better to avoid (completely) and see if things improve imho.

In my son's case, (still working on it) it's toxic levels (high) of arsenic, mercury, antimony and tin. He got it all from his mother.

I take a dose every 15 minutes and take at least 1.5 g per dose. The first time I did a flush I needed about 32 g, so allow for a whole day to do the flush. You need to fast the whole time you do it.

    .
Hi SDV, I had a look at the link, but it does not say that you have to fast?
Fasting is not necessary but highly recommended since it speeds up the flushing of toxins and brings about the healing process and clearing of skin much faster.

Wow I was right when I thought it was a good idea to ask you guys, such a fountain of knowledge on this forum. You all have made me realise that there are a lot ways to deal with eczema. On the other hand the doctors have only one way of dealing with it, steroids and petroleum based creams. I think my body reacted to chemicals. Thanks everyone. I was wondering just one thing, as ytou might know, when recovering from a bad episode my hands a very dry and sore. I have a big tub of lotion but its just pure chemicals. Do you guys know of any cream/lotion that is natural to use, to order online. I have been looking for creams but I'm not even sure what kind of chemicals I should avoid in products that claim to be natural but then I find they have harsh chemicals in them too. I've wasted money on different lotions and I now have a collection of them. Any ideas.
Also do you guys think there is a connection between gluten intolerance and excema?

Here's a short article about the benefits of using hempseed oil to treat eczema symptoms that you may find interesting/useful..

Quote There are a lot of eczema remedies on the market today, most of them involve using creams and potions or taking drugs. Have you tried Hemp Seed Oil yet?

There are many reasons why you should give it a try, but let's look at three of the most important ones.

Tip # 1 - First, as eczema remedies go, Hemp Seed Oil is one of the best natural moisturizers you can find. That's because it contains essential fatty acids. You see, the outer layer of your skin is called the epidermis and if your epidermal layer is not well hydrated and moisturized, it can cause any number of skin problems, including eczema.

This is one of the best eczema remedies available because it contains compounds that closely resemble the lipids in your skin. Lipids are fats that hold your skin cells together and keep your epidermal layer of skin strong and smooth. So, this oil doesn't just moisturize your skin by sitting on the surface, it actually penetrates and invigorates it making it one of the best hydrating remedies.

Tip # 2 - The second tip, one of the qualities that puts this oil on the list of best eczema remedies is that it reduces itching and inflammation. It does that because it contains gamolenic acid (GLA), which is also known as gamma linolenic acid. GLA, is an essential fatty acid that is excellent at reducing itchiness, irritation and inflammation. If you have eczema, you know that that is, by far, the biggest problem an eczema sufferer has. Any successful treatment must absolutely reduce your itching, if they are going to be useful at all.

Tip # 3 - The third, tip is Hemp oil is natural. If you aren't a fan of commercial medications, which often come with nasty side-effects, you should try this natural oil. If other eczema treatments have come up short of your expectations, a more holistic approach might just be the answer you're looking for.

Well after asking about the connection between excema and celiac disease I spent the night doing some research. I'm quite shocked actually. Ther is a huge connection (although with the other symptoms of celiac disease which I have had all my life) between the tow as they are both immune deficiencies.
Here is the link to a blog about a person living with celiac disease and a lot of posts from people who were at their wits end until they removed gluten from their diets.

Nothing beats organic coconut oil. It is also the best thing to cook with. Pawpaw ointment is also good, but not the Lucas variety in the red tub because that is also petroleum based. Really, to repeat myself - coconut oil, you need nothing else. I use it on my daughter's excema, it's also good for things like impetigo (school sores), ring worm etc.

Gluten, yes, it is the pits if you are especially suseptible, but the closer you get to "heirloom" or "ancient" grains, the better the body tolerates the gluten. Remove all gluten and all dairy from your diet, then try introducing things like kamut or spelt, or source grains such as quinoa or amaranth. Keep a food diary. Reintroduce milk, raw if you can get it without risking imprisonment. My feeling is we can all tolerate sensible amounts of ancient forms of gluten-bearing grains and milk, the problem is that we consume too much. It goes without saying of course that we are talking about organic wholegrains here, and organic raw (unpasturised) milk.

In the olden days, before steroids, eczema used to be treated with coal tar ointment. It maybe that is what people are talking about with petroleum products, but i remember it as a blackish cream that smelt awful! Another remedy also used was to take baths with dilute Pinetarsil, which was very good at stopping the itch. Whilst the coal tar ointment was effective, it was not as pleasant to use as the steroid cream, and like with the steroid cream, the eczema would come back. To be honest I do not think there is a cure as we usually do not know the cause of it and it seems to be a lifelong ailment for some people.

I’ve tried many creams. But the combination that works the fastest in my son’s case is a mixture of Tea Tree Oil (few drops) and Thompson’s calendula ointment (not cream).
    Short info about the ointment:

Calendula Ointment (40 ML) - Thompson Homeopathic
A natural, anti-septic, anti-inflammatory cream, effective in aiding in and accelerating the healing of burns, open wounds, bruises, eczema, diaper rash and other common skin irritations. Also effective as a topical treatment for varicose veins, Thompson's Calendula Ointment is an excellent topical first aid treatment from a natural plant source.

    Hello Conec,
    3. By far the best luck I have had with clearing up eczema permanently is homeopathy. I had a beautiful young woman with the worst weeping eczema on her face and hands and nothing she had tried had helped. We treated her with homeopathic Sulpher and within a little over a week she came in with clear skin. And as far as I know the eczema never came back.

Homeopathy is an individualized medicine and it is best if you can have a practitioner evaluate your case to find the exact remedy, though Sulphur is very often the remedy to begin with in the case of eczema.

    Hope this helps.

    Christine
    Hi Christine,

I asked my father (who is a homoeopath for 35 years) about Sulphur and eczema and though it is prescribed for people with eczema, precaution is needed when using homeopathic Sulpher. It is one of the very few remedies in Homoeopathy that is notorious for worsening the symptoms when applied without a personal fit for it.
It should only be used after a investigation that persons constitution.

We tried several things now for our little one and nothing seems to help really.
Hempseed oil, different washing powder, clothings, take away dairy products etc.
The only thing that helps a little is putting her to bed with a pyjama that disables her to scratch herself during sleep.

    We keep on trying!

Lots of interesting remedies offered in this thread, marvellous!

It seems that your tip about hemp-seed oil is working after all D-Day.
We have been using it for more then a month now and it's safe to say that her attacks of eczema are not as bad as they used to be.
And also.... the itch seemed to have almost gone and that is a pure blessing for our little one.

    Thanks for pointing this out!

Oh and further, we are bathing her in baths with an addition of a cup of Celtic sea salt too.
Not sure if anyone here mentioned about this, but this seems to work too.

Still waiting to find me some raw coconut oil. See what that does.
