Are alarm bells sounding yet? I doubt the schools will get parent's permission to give the vaccine! We truely need to stop paying taxes and co-operating!

My place of employment is making all staff members get a flu vaccine this fall. This is the first time it has been mandatory. It has always been offered or "strongly suggested" but it makes me wonder what's up.

To avoid the flu shot Tell who ever is administering it one (or both) of these :


1) you have exzema & are prone to bad breakouts

2) you are very (violently) allergic to eggs, if they ask what happens the last time you get a shot say that you had a hard time breathing and it felt like your throat was closing.

where I work these shots are manditory everywhere, I have succefully "dodged" them for 9 years with these methods.

HOWEVER: I'm not sure if the nasal spray is cultured in egg cells or not, so this may not work.. but I'm sure you can find similar cases where the nasal spray cannot be administered.

The only thing is, they are being really strict about it and will accept nothing less than a doctor's excuse. I figure I will have to have it in order to keep my job. I don't really know much about vaccines, but I never get the flu shot. I just feels wrong to me. Since I don't know much about it, please tell me, what's the worse that could happen once I get the flu shot?

Don't fear the shot or focus on what it could do to you, this isn't a fear exercise

Shots have a small amount of mercury in them and by pass ALL your immune systems defenses so there could be many inherent dangers; I simply do not agree with them and thus avoid them.

I am suppose to have a doctor’s note as well, I always tell them I'll "get to it".... Once you tell someone that you are allergic to eggs they will think “anaphylactic shock" and be very concerned about giving you a shot.. this could be all you need as it will get you out of the shot during the time they are trying to get EVERYONE done, you can basically get "lost in the crowd" (that’s my tactic).

I don't personally go to doctors, but perhaps you could find one that would be willing to write you a note, they are people too

I guess I could try to find a doctor willing to write me a note, but will just a note be enough? In the policy we have at work, it says it must be documented. Now, documented could mean a note written by a doctor would work. For those cases where the employee has an excuse to not get the flu shot, whatever documentation they have goes to a board who looks at the evidence and decides whether or not the person has to get the shot or not.

That sounds like a bit much to me, its not good business practice to "board medical documentation" by non-qualified individuals (unless you work at a hospital?) sounds very strange to me...
