I'm a "Carmen", and there is none other like me. This Carmen has taken a lot of training cos she was pretty bloody wild young and untrained!! Spoilt brat as a kid and very headstrong! This Carmen had to learn self discipline the hard way as she was/is damn stubborn also. But once I had her listening a bit that passionate wild nature was handy cos it turned into willpower and determination. She's not too bad now, just breaks out occasionally, but I can bring her back into line. I think I'll stick with her. I'm not going to give up after all the hard work I've put into this Carmen. A well trained Carmen is quite nice. She'd probably be dead now if I hadn't taken over.

    I might be:

    • A multi-dimensional system buster who loves to enter systems of darkness to cause a little trouble, to shake things up a bit by anchoring a little love, light and irreverence.
    • A metaphysical swing dancer.
    • A seeker of well being for myself and others.
    • A creator and communicator.
    • Both the actor on a stage and the observer.

Or I may be all, or none.

But not "spiritual", whatever that means and definitely not religious.

And I'm hoping that I'm not what I eat.

Aha! Just realized figured out what I am.
I am an endless source of entertainment for my Higher Self!

    how about......

    i have awoke.

this is one of those odd one's.
lets say that the population was over time put into a state of hypnosis.
and that most have lost connection with their own being.

all of them are beings of 'spirit'

i reckon its not that some people are more spiritual than others.

its that some are less hypnotized.

otherwise, the lack of contact with spirit that most people suffer...
    is the norm

and those that have a connection to source are the exception.

whereas i think its the other way around.

    returning spirit is the norm,
and the lack of..... is the exception.

    imo.
when i went there nothing happened!, i was bored out of my mind..................in the Twilight Zone.

Variously: seeker ( of truth), way finder, way shower, anchor in a storm.

If we are all deeply honest, I think we all know why we are here.

We played a cruel trick on ourselves when we made ourselves incapable of processing a reality of timeless-infinite thought and rendered ourselves into a finite and somewhat limited form of consciousness in a time bound construct, so that we could explore yet another one of an infinite number of aspects to ourselves.

Among these fates is the obsessive need for labeling.

Paradoxically, it is probably best not to do that.

I think if i needed to describe myself without using the label spiritual i would use the word seeker, as Anchor says above ," of truth" but also of higher self which is supposedly what religions were meant to foster, the part of us that is Christ Consciousness incarnate which is of course a work in progress.

when I'm asked what it means to be Spiritual, I smile and say it means to believe without a weekly sermon...

the Religious are Spiritual but believe they need someone to speak and listen for them, but most gather, more to be with friends than for inner healing...

Why do you want to label yourself? There is actually no difference between being physical or being spiritual, just your point of view.
When I meet someone I don't say 'hi, I am spiritual' or 'hi, I am physical' ....
I speak and present myself in such a way that will engage the thoughts of the person I address in such a way to indicate from which point of view I am coming from.
Saying you'r spiritual has a ring of arrogance about it, because where does physical start becoming spiritual when in fact on this physical earth we have so many different points of view.
What we express, be it in words, actions or attitude tells it all, and inspires those around us to either be like you or not.
It's called the LAW OF ATTRACTION.

Watch those be the last two choices standing Mark. I reckon though the real test would come say, if you found yourself on a talk show, and suddenly you hear in that soft and caring voice from the host, full of hope that you will share: "So Mark, how would you describe yourself, pertaining to the topic of the goings on in the realms beyond the 5 senses?"

    P.S. "Pinocchio"???
I didn't get it for a long time either. Pinocchio. He wanted to be a real boy. But it also occurs to me what I puppet I was.

So Mark, how would you describe yourself, pertaining to the topic of the goings on in the realms beyond the 5 senses?"
    The prospect of finding myself on a talk show compelled to give an answer is nil, so I'll pretend it's a more ordinary situation and say what I usually do;
    "That's not your business."
If they persist I tell them I talk to dead people so they know better than to bring it up again.

Hi there John, very true. Quite the dilemma then... I guess I'm labeled a man, and my hair is brown.(with some gray now) When I say I live in a house, everyone knows what that means. If I say "dog", it's understood. "I have a headache" is understood. "I had a dream" is understood. Even something as vague as "imagination" is readily understood.

Then we come to substituting "spiritual", of which it seems I'm not the only one who doesn't care for the term (label), and we have us a nice little silly dance around the Mulberry bush. As Spock would say: "Fascinating Captain!"

Here's an idea, we could go the deep and mysterious route, and simply say the old "I AM"

Its a mistake to classify yourself as "Spiritual".

I am not Spiritual, not by a long shot, but I want to be.

It first becomes a state of mind, we try and enforce through awareness, vigilance, patience and compassion, then if we are fortunate enough and determined and sincere enough, we become spiritual, and we need no longer label ourselves as such, we just are....

But for now, Truth seeker is just fine, it just makes my life less complicated when asked lol!

Given the exposure that religion in general has had of late, it's become chic to say "I'm spiritual, not religious", especially in the dating scene. I suppose it means something different to just about everyone.

For me, it means the awareness that we are spirits temporarily residing in these particular biological bodies, and that our consciousness or soul cannot be permanently destroyed as most orthodox religions teach.

Having grown up a Jehovah's Witness, it's ironic that we thought we were the most "spiritual" people on earth, but in actuality we were more earth-bound and spiritually comatose than lug nuts.

If I had to put it in physically tangible terms, I would say our degree of spirituality is closely related to our pineal glands.... are they more calcified or more crystalline on the inside?

It's okay, imo, to have a calcified pineal gland if we are aware of it and have real faith in our ability to change it... whether in this life or the next.

Yes, be "I AM", not say it....You are free to communicate and use labels though (which is necessary for that) - just know that when you do that, you are engaging in the illusion and not just experiencing it.

There is a knife-edge of balance when those things become the same.
