    Default Chi machines

First of all let it be known I am not selling these machines. Ok so now let the praises begin. Years ago I saw a healer (can't even remember what kind), and at the end of a session with her she would put you on a little machine called the chi machine. The machine shakes your feet in a way that creates a movement like a goldfish throughout your whole body. I remember absolutely loving the way I felt at the end of 5 minutes....a rush of energy can be felt like a wave through the body and you feel limber and energized.

Anyway many years since and I had virtually forgotten about this machine and experience. Last weekend I was at an auction house with silent bidding and saw the machine and I put a 70$ bid on it. No one else must have known what it was as I ended up being the only one who bid (though I was below the reserve). The machine retails at about $500 and this one was never-used in brand new condition. In the end after a small negotiation I got it for $100. I think this might be the bst money I've spent.

I am in love!!!! I have not felt so good in my body since I was a kid. I feel like it was a gift from the universe. Pains that I have had forever have melted away....I feel loose, relaxed and energized. My skin is looking so healthy and shiney...sorry I know I am sounding like an ad...but it's true

The benefits are enormous and can include:

    oxygenation of cells

    Lymphatic drainage

    improved circulation

Easing of back and neck pain

Relief from general aches and pains

    Increased energy

    Improved sleep

    Normalisation of blood pressure

    May help with weight reduction

    Improved digestive function

Deep relaxation helping to overcome stress

It relaxes and provides an awesome alpha state that makes visualizing easy and fun.

    **********************

The one I got is marketed as the original and they claim the cheaper imitations could be dangerous. I think this might just be a scare tactic however...from what I've read in related forums there are many people reporting great benefits from this machine regardless of brand, and no one reporting any damage.

Anyway just wanted to share about this because for me this is a bit of a game changer. My body feels really happy and finally it is a pleasure to be contained within it. Actually I sometimes used to have a clausterphobic experience of being trapped in my body. Like it was a diving suit that I was wearing in which I was not quite getting enough air...and maybe this actually was because my cells were not getting enough oxygen.

Anyone else have experience with this machine?

    Movement like a Goldfish?

What sort of movement? Like a figure of 8?

And what sort of speed does it go at?

Is it only your feet that are moved?

It sounds good! I wonder If I could make one on the cheap...

Awake in the Dream the ankle craddle on top of the machine oscillates (moves side to side), at approximately 140/minute. I'd love to hear about your adventures making one of these!

selinam there seems to be heaps of places selling these machines... here's one in Canada I came accross http://chimachinecanada.com/home/ , and US http://www.chimachineshop.com/chimachine.php .You could also try ebay etc. If you google chi machines you'll come accross all brands and price ranges.

Also a good idea could be to rent one for a week or so and see if it works for whatever related issues you have. For me personally the noticeable effects have been almost immediate.

I had one before. It's really kind of nice, surely has the effects you describe, it's very stimulating. Stimulated me to decide to produce the benefits it gave me on my own eventually. The mechanic repetitious nature of it was bugging me after a while, so I got rid of it.

I do a lot of sports and I figured moving my legs on my own is just what I enjoy more. There is even a physical exercise that comes very close to the particular effects of a chi machine, Osho's kundalini meditation. The following video kind of gives you an idea, but you can shake much more intensely and you can dance more playfully as well, you don't have to stand at one spot all the time while you do this. If you don't wanna buy the CD with the related music and so on, here's how you do it: Just shake 15 minutes straight and get loose, then dance for 15 any type of dance you come up with, then sit and listen/meditate for 15 and then relax/lay down for 15. Can do it with any music, or listen to the radio or whatever.

I agree this machine is not for everyone. For me I feel that I have always been more spiritually focused than physically focused. Because of this it has been more difficult to shift patterns stored in my physical body. As much as I try to walk and do yoga it is a challenge for me to be consistent because I lack the energy and have various pains...and so becomes a viscious cycle. It's as though even though I have a great diet and lifestyle my body just hasn't had to energy to heal properly and keep up with the healing that is occuring in me on emotional and spiritual levels. I feel like the universe just presented me with the key to allowing my physical body to come in line with the rest of me. Hopefully for me this machine will be a stepping stone in terms of physical health. I prefer to do things naturally and I imagine that as I heal it will become easier and easier for me to achieve the same effects through an increasingly active lifestyle.

One of the things I notice is that I have patterns of tenseness in my body, places I learned to hold to store unprocessed emotions. And even though I have now processed and shifted the energy it is difficult for my body to unlearn the patterns of tenseness. When I use the machine it seems to loosen up and relax my body into a nice neutral untense state. If I just did it once my body would likely revert back to it's familiar pattern of tenseness, but because I do it 2 or 3 times a day (5min) a healthy relax state is maintained which will give my body the opportunity to heal itself.

    Thank's Enfoldedblue!

I watched that video from the website above.

Ah! 'Like a fish' I get it now!

Maybe some beneficial results could be obtained from doing that movement anyway, by laying down with your feet on a soccer ball.
I know it wouldn't be quite as relaxing, but it might be worth a try.

Kundalini Meditation look's good too, Cheers Christian!

You know sometimes I notice that just doing simple sit up's creates an unusual yet pleasant kind of energy flow that travels up my spine and into my head.

    Is that Kunalini/Chi perhaps?

Slightly off topic but it always makes me think twice when I see words like "Chi." I guess this one is pronounced "key." It just reminds me of the Greek letter Chi (Kye). I wonder if somehow the meanings are interlinked more than we suspect from culture to culture.

The Chi machine is a good name for a band.

Does the Greek letter Chi represent anything scientific?

Like Phi represents the Golden Ratio?

Chi is like the letter X in Greek. It makes the K or Ch sound. It is part of the Labarum symbol that Constantine adapted as the first sign of Christianity. It is also symbolic of the masculine '^' and femminine 'v.'

There is also the letter 'Tau' in Hebrew that represents the cross, which sounds like the Eastern 'Tao'.
All these things do seem to be linked...

    Thumbs up Re: Chi machines

I use my Chi machine every morning to get everything circulating. I love it and find it is a nice addition to the chi exercise I do to align my chi centers before starting.

I have had this machine for a while but was never consistent with it until of late due to a fibromyalgia flair up and sciatic nerve pain down my lower left side which became unbearable. 2 weeks in daily routine has now dissapated the sciatia pain and calmed the fibro flair up, thus have now become a real believer in Chi Therapy of all kinds

Hmmm that's interesting Sandy. I've had sciatica problems lately and it was pretty intense pain.
I was getting physiotherapy for it which has helped somewhat, but it hasn't completely gone
    Yet.

    Thanks for this thread enfoldedblue.

    I'm intrigued.
I even ordered a machine already. (second hand for 50 euro)

There are many youtube films one can watch for info about the benefits etc.

this one was a bit old, bit it is very informative.

I am especially eager to learn the correlation between this machine and the Kundalini mediation that christian is talking about.
would the effects really be the same? That would be awesome!
(dancing and letting the energies flow is not my fort)

I look forward to hearing about others experiences. So far for me it has been one week and I still feel great. I have been doing 5 minutes 3 times a day. I'm looking forward to getting up to 2 x 15 minute sessions (which I think is the recommended max). I started doing 7 minutes, but that night I got a serious headache, which can happen if you overdo it (due to toxic release), however they day before my husband pulled a shellback tick out of my head...and this, more than likely, was the real culprit.

Also for anyone using the machine I just want to put in a little reminder of the importance of drinking water before and after a session as the water will flush the released toxins out of your system.

Also re the pronounciation, from what I have found on the net in this case it is 'chee' like cheese.

    Happy 'chi-ing'

    LOVE ALLways, c

After a bit of research, the original company that put out the chi machine claims that you could injure yourself with one of the imitators selling for a lower price.
I went ahead and ordered from the original company just to be on the safe side.
I would love to hear from anyone here who has a machine other than Sun Ancon's.
I ordered this one for myself, and for my room mate who is diabetic. I think my room mate will be able to really tell me if this works.
If this is anything close to what it claims to be, I will be purchasing one for my folks too.
