Photo taken morning of January 16, 2016, by an ice fisherman. Rather stunning. Taken in Alger County, Michigan, USA.

This is a eucalyptus flower bud opening. It was photographed by Peter Nydegger in Kings Park, Perth, Western Australia. The local name is Mottlecah (Eucalyptus Macrocarpa) and is native in the South-West of Western Australia only. The flowers are bigger than a large hand.

My daughter took this picture in New Zealand a few months ago of the rarest bird on earth - a KAKAPO. This is the famous one in the Stephen Fry you tube, where this bird tried to "shag" a zoologist.
