Default One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind - Backwards!

    Hi Everybody,

I feel like I'm about to rekindle my youth.

As I have a Paypal account which is with some spare 'cash' which I can't get hold of directly as I'm here in Brazil, I decided to spend a little and buy..... a...... CB radio! It's just to play around with in the car as I'm pottering about going from the city to where my small farm is. If it goes well, I imagine I'll even let the rural workers I have play around a little too!

On the conspiracy theory side, if the doom and gloom experts are right and the 'system' collapses at least I'll have my little 'raddie' on hand to keep myself one step ahead of the storm troopers, or to look for survivors after the nuclear hollocaust.

As they're quite cheap (my little model cost $30.00) it's not too expensive for the majority to have one, if for nothing else, toy around a little, learn the 'Q' codes etc. Keeps the mind alert.

Remember, if the nuclear winds blow the right way, we may be able to keep in contact (until then I'm still using Skype!).

    Best regards,

    Steve

Thanks for the info Steve. I've often pondered how to stay informed about the outside world if the information highways collapse . I had no idea that CB's were that inexpensive. I will check into it.
    Blessings,
    Yiola

Were are you in Brasil? Rio de Janeiro ? If so don't miss the Gávea... Up there, in that hight rock yhill, you have a beautiful view of the city....Try all the exoctic fruits juices and the wonderful cuisine. If you like music, go to music shop and buy some cds from Ney Mato Grosso ,Bethania or Gal Costa. They are very good.

    Olá MariaDine,

Tô no Recife no litoral Nordeste. Infelizmente não bebo pinga (ingrediente da caipirinha), mmaaaaaas, posso tomar um balde de cerveja para você!

Obrigado pelas músicas. Sempre é bom quando queremos relaxar.

    Um abraço,

    Steve

Thanks Steve, for your info on a CB radio. I'm just recently been looking for such a device, lots of kids around here use mobile phonelike gadgets being able to communicate on a distance of 200 (Dutch) meters or so, with each other. Of course mostly nonsensical subjects, in my not so humble opinion, but I am having a good laugh at least! I guess these are modern versions of Walky Talkies? Take care and be well!
