Default Who is "Peter the Roman"??? (St.Malachy Prophecy)

The current Pope Benedict XVI , Just announced that he thinks Jesus was born some years earlier than previously thought. Anyway I was doing some research the other day
on the St.Malachy Prophecy. If your not familiar with the prophecy of St.Malachy here is
    a few details.

The prophecy was first published in 1595 by Arnold de Wyon, a Benedictine historian, as part of his book Lignum Vitæ. Wyon attributed the list to Saint Malachy , the 12th‑century bishop of Armagh in Ireland . According to the traditional account, in 1139, Malachy was summoned to Rome by Pope Innocent II . While in Rome, Malachy purportedly experienced a vision of future popes, which he recorded as a sequence of cryptic phrases. This manuscript was then deposited in the Roman Archive, and thereafter forgotten about until its rediscovery in 1590.

Papal EmblemThe Prophecy of the Popes, attributed to Saint Malachy , is a list of 112 short phrases in Latin . They purport to describe each of the Roman Catholic popes (along with a few anti-popes ), beginning with Pope Celestine II (elected in 1143) and concluding with the successor of current pope Benedict XVI , a pope described in the prophecy as "Peter the Roman", whose pontificate will end in the destruction of the city of Rome .

Pope Benedict is currently 85 years old and his health is not good. The Cardinals will choose a new Pope soon. The front runner to be the next pope is this man
    Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson.
Cardinal Turkson has said that "if God would wish to see a black man also as pope, thanks be to God". The Catholic Church chronicler Rocco Palmo called Turkson the lone Scripture scholar in the Pope's "Senate" and believes that his status as a potential "papabile " has been elevated due to his appointment as spokesman for Second Synod for Africa in 2009.

In response to the global economic crisis started in 2008, Cardinal Turkson together with bishop Mario Toso elaborated a proposal to reform the international financial system by creating a Global Public Authority and a Global Bank that consider the interest of all developing countries. The document of 40 pages was officially presented in October 2011 and criticizes the actual structure of International Monetary Fund and other institutions.

This guy may be from Africa but his name is Peter and he sounds like a Globalist to me.
Could Turkson be "Peter the Roman"? I Know all Popes change thier name when they become Pope But what if he Being the 112th Pope decides to keep his name. Just saying.

When i first heard about the pope resigning, the
prediction of the next pope to be elected would
be a black man, was the first thought that i had.

I'm not one to believe in predictions but after what
jagman posted, maybe i should reconsider the
    prophecy.

I'm curious about something. The word pascet in the phrase above is alternately translated as "nourish" or "feed." You see it one way in some of the translations and the other in others. I can see both a sinister (comes from the word for "left" in Latin) and a benevolent interpretation if the word "feed" is intended. The sheep could be fed meaning to care for them...or FED (meaning to prepare a nice mint jelly to go with them) in a time of tribulation.

"On this order, the man who in 2002 correctly predicted that the pope succeeding John Paul II would be named Benedict XVI, Ronald L. Conte Jr. believes the next pope will be Cardinal Francis Arinze and that he will take the name Pius XIII. This name (Pius) is associated historically with popes who emphasized authoritative doctrine during their pontificates. Cardinal Arinze fits this description, and Conte interprets this qualification as best fulfilling "Peter the Roman" as a pope who "will reaffirm the authority of the Roman Pontiff over the Church; this authority is based on his place as Successor of Peter" and "will emphasize the supremacy of the Roman Catholic faith and the Roman Catholic Church above all other religions and denominations, and it's authority over all Christians and all peoples of the world." To this, Conte adds, "During the reign of Pope Peter the Roman, the great apostasy begins" and this pope will mark "the first part of the tribulation during our generation." Conte envisions this apocalypse beginning in 2012 when, as he sees it, Benedict suddenly dies or steps down and is replaced by Petrus Romanus. This followed by a series of cascading events resulting in World War III, which is triggered when Iranian-backed terrorists explode a nuclear bomb in New York City. The great tribulation begins, and by July 2013, Rome is destroyed when it is struck by a nuclear missile."

Which city has 7 hills ? Istanbul ,Turkey?
The city of 7 hills is Rome.

This excerpt from a series of articles written in January 2012:

Quote As the legend goes, Malachy experienced what is today considered a famous vision commonly called “The Prophecy of the Popes.” The prophecy is a list of Latin verses predicting each of the Roman Catholic popes from Pope Celestine II to the final pope, “Peter the Roman,” whose reign would end in the destruction of Rome. According to this ancient prophecy, the very next pope (following Benedict XVI) will be the final pontiff, Petrus Romanus or Peter the Roman.

The final segment of the prophecy reads:

In persecutione extrema S. R. E. sedebit Petrus Romanus, qui pascet oves in multis tribulationibus: quibus transactis civitas septicollis deruetur et judex tremendus judicabit populum. Finis.[xii]

    Which is rendered:

In extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman, who will feed the sheep through many tribulations; when they are over, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the terrible or fearsome Judge will judge his people. The End.[xiii]

Is the prophecy a forgery from the sixteenth century, and if so, why is it more often than not accurate in its predictions?

There are at least 16 articles in this long series ...

Parts 6 and 7 are rather chilling (deals with blood sacrifices, and so on) ... http://www.raidersnewsupdate.com/petrus-six.htm

Hi Jagman, I hate to add yet another interview to your thread, but this podcast of Tom Horn on the Hagman and Hagman show is suberb.
My favourite part is at 33mins - how lightning struck St Peter's Basicilla the day Benedict announced his resignation & this was the anniversary day that Mary appeared in Lourdes! At 35mins he said lightning struck the actor that played Jesus in Mel Gibson's film when he was acting the "sermon on the Mount!"

Hi again! I'm really shocked that more people haven't responded or read this thread as I think this is the most cutting-edge material on avalon at the moment! As we are seeing history unfold before us. The St Malachy Prophecy is ending with its last Pope being elected next month - and imagine if he somehow has the name Peter, or somehow fulfills it!

I'm very disappointed that threads on "salacious" topics like footage of a UFO or an ET-autopsy get hundreds of responses, thank-you's, etc. while they are almost always de-bunked at some later date. I really think that TPTB are distracting "awake" people with this stuff, while slowly enslaving everyone with things like an economic collapse and a cashless society.
