Default What is a great book on ancient Sumeria/Egypt/antiquity art?

    Hi there,
Could someone please direct me to some books on ancient histories and the art/antiquity ?

I'm guessing there are some experienced book people that may have what I'm after.

Egypt, Sumeria, Atlantis! anything? But keep in mind I'm really after the art because that's how I view the history (some like books full of words - me I like images ) - so I'd be really grateful for some help.

here are some examples (i think) I'm looking for:
    http://www.amazon.com/Art-Ancient-Eg...3751774&sr=1-4
    and this
    http://www.amazon.com/Ancient-Egypt-...=1GHAESAPEBS1J

    Thanks!

    I really like this:

    http://www.amazon.com/Ancient-Egypti...lp_edpp_img_ex

It's more about their magic (obviously) but it goes into the art. Very informative.

Try John Anthony West's Serpent in the sky

    http://www.amazon.com/Serpent-Sky-Wi...3835327&sr=8-1

or if you are feeling really brave Schwaller de Lubicz's 2 volume opus, The temple of man

I guess my copy of ' The Temple of Man' won't be of any use here.... (two volumes of extreme wordiness)

Oh sorry for the delay reply!
Thanks for the links I will look into them.

I really was thinking along the lines of Wayne Hershels "Hidden Mysteries" kind of book - lots of images and referrences of the old and the offworld. It's very cool and I fully suggest anyone that wants to know a lot about the past and its offworld connection - it is an investment you will not regret! I promise

The Temple of man you say?

found the torrent of the pdf http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4533222

I went to the pirate Bay link, and the one single comment is obviously raving garbage from a malcontent - to deflect people away from it.

The page count is listed as 130. It's closer to 1300, being at about 1050 pages long, in two volumes.

It really is one of the most important books to be published in the past 200 years. Some say it ~is~ the single most important book in the past 200 years. Imagine the PDF size from a 1050 page count book, which is chock full of diagrams, charts and photographs. More like 2G for a pdf, not 2M. The book is also over-sized, like a large dictionary. About 10"x17" sized pages.

So the pirate bay site is just way, way off.

OK. I see what happened. That is the much smaller work of 'The Temple IN Man'. I'm speaking of 'The temple OF Man'.

There is also this one, another 'slightly expensive' copy...

The full size book (original size) is now, once again, only available used and at about $250 each. I managed to get one (a newer pressing) before the pressing ran out (run of 500 at $300 each). It is a beauty to behold, each page is 12"x18.5" and the color plates are just spectacular. A 12-15 (6 kilo) pound book that is over two feet across when opened up.

Manly P. Hall's "The secret Teachings of all ages'.

The color plates contain a wealth of information when full sized, I recall. The book has it's proper impact when at that huge size. Just turning the pages is a treat. Every sentence you read, even randomly, has impact and serious depth.

Your post and tribute to the ToM made me want to get my copy out which I haven't looked at for awhile. I had no idea it was no longer in print. What a tragedy.!!

I was fortunate to spend 14 days in Egypt with John Anthony West who was greatly influenced by Schwaller. It was one of the highlights of my life!!

Graham Hancock has a talk on Egypt and the pyramids which I was looking at last night

there is a great image of the rising sun over Ankhor Wat, at about 1.00

Zacharian Sitchin's the 12th planet cover a great deal of the Sumerian civilisation era and the arriving on earth of the 'Gods' from an outer world. Lots of pictures and based on the Hebrew bible. I found it fascinating

    ToM is still in print.

It is the Full size original pressing of 'The Secret Teachings Of All Ages' by Manley P. Hall that is OOP. Sorry for the badly put together post on my part.

The thing I try to realize and deal with, and my youth of constantly being moved about helped me physically realize this point, which is that there are as many different paths to the truth as there are individuated people to make an attempt to get there.

Some people need to read things like ToM to help have the light turn on for -or in- them.

Some just need a beer and a good movie.

Or the end or moment in a specific quiet sunny day. Or to have their fishing boat overturn in a hurricane and either survive the moment or not... or to watch their pet, friend, or family member die. Or just walk down the street...one day.

Sometimes it is process, sometimes it is but a moment.
