Default Psychiatric Drugs linked to school fatalities and excessive violence

Did you know every human emotion is now classified as a mental disorder in the new psychiatric manual DSM - 5 http://www.naturalnews.com/038322_DS...#ixzz2FJH2R9Cj This is insane!

Life necessarily involves emotions, experiences and behaviors which, from time to time, step outside the bounds of the mundane. This does not mean people have a "mental disorder." It only means they are not biological robots we are HUMAN.

Man made chemicals are not the answer to our problems. I just read the heart wrenching story that Kimberly put up. Where did it all go wrong?

Is it our non food that we eat, is it the vaccinations. I suspect both. I know of NO child born mad or insane.

I know of mothers who medicate their children for being what I would call perfectly normal (hyperactive, inattentive, grumpy etc etc) They are the problem looking out the window for solutions and not in the mirror. Parenthood is difficult at times.

We had all sorts of kids at school when I was growing up - but none were medicated. We also were not vacinated to buggary like our kids are today.

Lets start with this list - look at the ages....

Here are some examples specifically related to schools. You can sort the list from here. http://www.ssristories.com/index.php?p=school

But the FDA approved all this, and the drug companies know the effects. This is not coincidence it's murder!

My sister has suffered from depression, and unfortunately I recommended she see if taking an SSRI drug would help. She went to her Dr. and she was given Prozac. She couldn't handle the side effects, so she was given Paxil. She told me it felt like she was always trying to fight her way out of a wet paper bag, that she had brain fog, and like she was dead inside. Finally she gradually went off them altogether. She said she didn't see a point in taking something that made her feel as bad or worse than she did before taking them.

Knowing what I know now, I'm glad she did. I tell her to make sure she takes at least 2000 units of Vit D during the winter, as I think that really helps fight depression amoung many other things..

Here's a bump. Everyone talks about Tim Horton's around here like it is local folk lore, this is the only city I know where they have line ups at almost every store. They have taken over the market, and created a near monopoly. Of course that is when prices for their coffee and donuts went through the roof. We have the highest per capita stores in the country, and the first original store from 1967. What it gets down to is selling people caffeine, sugar, processed flour wrapped in the prettiest bow, today that is combined with iron clamp franchise contracts, such as only existing owners in our city are the only eligible candidates for purchasing another franchise, other store owners in any mall they are in, are not allowed to sell coffee... But essentially the real 'magic' to all this success is ADDICTION. It capitalizes and fully exploits everyone's naturally occurring ADDICTION behaviours. And this about alot more then just physiological tolerance to drugs.

Anyhow, I heard that Prozac is the highest profit drug ever manufactured and sold in all pharmaceutical history. That fluoride is the main ingredient, that it is an addictive drug and that the withdrawal symptoms are violent aggression and suicidal tendencies. Lesson to all business people. ADDICTION = Higher relative profit.

Ultimately addiction is about a psychological feeling in your mind. A state of mind that we desire. The drug is just a vehicle, and this is only one example of it. Anything that can create that feeling will work. People can be addicted to anything as a result, sex, violence, pain, love, hate, a political view, a tv show, a pair of leather boots, absolutely anything really, it is all just a matter of creating the right associations in the mind of the seeker and attaching the right motivations and rewards.

See the links on these posts... no, no, no, no... no dots to be connected here... if you see a pattern, then you must be hallucinating; so, here is your prozac prescription...

Amazing that they'll try to shut her up but let others rant and rave like Alex Jones, Drake, Cobra, etc etc. This surely raises a flag that she poked someone in the eye.

Yep, the illuminati right arm in the USA: the American Psychiatric Association which, of course, works in a tightly knit association with CIA and all their mind control programs from MKultra to satanism... ever heard of the Greenbaum speech?

Then, check post # 260 as well as post #238.

Then check this thread about psychiatrists renovated bible, the DSM-5: Psychiatry goes insane.

Quote Posted by Amzer Zo (here)
    Observer...

... if you follow the link provided under "Siberia Bill" in post # 260, you might, with enough perseverence, run into something like this:

Quote In Ron's Journal 67, Hubbard identified "the people behind the Siberia Bill", who he asserted were
"... less than twelve men. They are members of the Bank of England and other higher financial circles. They own and control newspaper chains, and they are, oddly enough, directors in all the mental health groups in the world which have sprung up. Now these chaps are very interesting fellows: They have fantastically corrupt backgrounds; illegitimate children; government graft; a very unsavory lot. And they apparently, sometime in the rather distant past, had determined on a course of action. Being in control of most of the gold supplies of the planet, they entered upon a program of bringing every government to bankruptcy and under their thumb, so that no government would be able to act politically without their permission."[23]
So that, on one hand they are majority share holders of "Big Pharma" and, on the other hand, controlling all the "Mental Health" institutions the world round... which lead us directly to a remake of the "Siberia Bill" but, this time, with people's "approval!"

Then, post # 260 and post #238 may start to make sense and your assumption of a direct connection between Dr. Laibow and the Connecticut false flag being substantiated with those posts.

The direct link is her posting that video and plainly saying that psychiatric drugging of people is horse sh!t and completely unnecessary: direct attack on the pill-pushing psychiatry and the the pill producers... that's usually a deadly combination to which she added a hint of (satanic?) rape of little girls.

I did not know you were Canadian Sigma 6 (Tim Horton betrayal lol).

You are right in the general overview of addiction, but partly wrong in its functioning. Drugs are not only vehicles, they litterally change the synaptical pathways connecting neurons. They change the brain chemistry and wiring. And this is instantaneous. Try to change it back to its original, it may take years, if you succeed.

It is true you can get addicted to sex, violence, hate, love, political views, etc. The hardest addiction to change being sex because it is rooted in basic survival instincs and in pleasure. It is harder to change than drugs. But did you know that anything practiced long enough will change your brain as well, meditation as well as sex addiction. However, drugs will operate the change overnight, which other addcition won't.

Mix all that now with video games extreme violence using almost all the senses, add to that the sexual bombardment that is nowadays constant, and mix in drugs. The addiction path is instantaneous. It is also obvious this is planned and executed as planned.

I posted this on another thread, but I really think it has its pertinence here:

This was in the Horus Ra thread thanks to Houman, it describes how kids being drug will hallucinate, loose consciousness and do violent acts.

I am listening to it right now, the first few minutes up to Michael Moore piece, included, is about what is necessary to understand what is going on. Kids on drugs starting to hallucinate and doing mass kiling, the kids themselves tell you what went on.

I think it fits very well with the youngs who did the shooting in different places (Aurora, Columbine, now Newton and others)

Starting at minute 55, the kids start saying what Paxil had as impact, hearing voices that tells you to kill, feeling depressed, etc.

Later on the parents say the problem is not the guns but the psychosis provoking drugs they are given.

Now, lets imagine how easy it is to be shooting orders to kill to the kids' ears through psychotropic technologies, if they are already weakened on psychiatric medication.

Undeniable Correlation Between Suicide/Mass Shootings & Pharmaceutical Drug Use Being Openly Ignored

Quote The one thing that nearly every mass shooting has in common… and it isn’t guns
Tuesday, August 06, 2019 by: Mike Adams

The following is a republishing of an important article written by Dan Roberts from AmmoLand.com. It reveals the real truth about mass shootings that bureaucrats and lawmakers are choosing to sweep under the rug: psychiatric drugs. If you want to know the real reason why mass shootings are taking place, this is the “inconvenient truth” the media won’t cover.

Here’s the full article by Dan Roberts:

(Ammoland.com) Nearly every mass shooting incident in the last twenty years, and multiple other instances of suicide and isolated shootings all share one thing in common, and it’s not the weapons used.

The overwhelming evidence points to the signal largest common factor in all of these incidents is the fact that all of the perpetrators were either actively taking powerful psychotropic drugs or had been at some point in the immediate past before they committed their crimes.

Multiple credible scientific studies going back more than a decade, as well as internal documents from certain pharmaceutical companies that suppressed the information show that SSRI drugs ( Selective Serotonin Re-Uptake Inhibitors ) have well known, but unreported side effects, including but not limited to suicide and other violent behavior. One need only Google relevant key words or phrases to see for themselves. www.ssristories.com is one popular site that has documented over 4500 ” Mainstream Media ” reported cases from around the World of aberrant or violent behavior by those taking these powerful drugs.

The following list of mass shooting perpetrators and the drugs they were taking or had been taking shortly before their horrific actions was compiled and published to Facebook by John Noveske, founder and owner of Noveske Rifleworks just days before he was mysteriously killed in a single car accident. Is there a link between Noveske’s death and his “outting” of information numerous disparate parties would prefer to suppress, for a variety of reasons?

I leave that to the individual readers to decide. But there is most certainly a documented history of people who “knew too much” or were considered a “threat” dying under extraordinarily suspicious circumstances.

From Katherine Smith, a Tennessee DMV worker who was somehow involved with several 9/11 hijackers obtaining Tennessee Drivers Licenses, and was later found burned to death in her car, to Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Gary Webb, who exposed a CIA Operation in the 80’s that resulted in the flooding of LA Streets with crack cocaine and was later found dead from two gunshot wounds to the head, but was officially ruled as a “suicide”, to Frank Olson, a senior research micro biologist who was working on the CIA’s mind control research program MKULTRA.

After Olson expressed his desire to leave the program, he was with a CIA agent in a New York hotel room, and is alleged to have committed “suicide” by throwing himself off the tenth floor balcony. In 1994, Olson’s sons were successful in their efforts to have their fathers body exhumed and re examined in a second autopsy by James Starrs, Professor of Law and Forensic science at the National Law Center at George Washington University. Starr’s team concluded that the blunt force trauma to the head and injury to the chest had not occurred during the fall but most likely in the room before the fall. The evidence was called “rankly and starkly suggestive of homicide.” Based on his findings, in 1996 the Manhattan District Attorney opened a homicide investigation into Olson’s death, but was unable to find enough evidence to bring charges.

As I said, I leave it to the individual readers to make up their own minds if Noveske suffered a similar fate. On to the list of mass shooters and the stark link to psychotropic drugs.

    • Eric Harris age 17 (first on Zoloft then Luvox) and Dylan Klebold aged 18 (Columbine school shooting in Littleton, Colorado), killed 12 students and 1 teacher, and wounded 23 others, before killing themselves. Klebold’s medical records have never been made available to the public.

    • Jeff Weise, age 16, had been prescribed 60 mg/day of Prozac (three times the average starting dose for adults!) when he shot his grandfather, his grandfather’s girlfriend and many fellow students at Red Lake, Minnesota. He then shot himself. 10 dead, 12 wounded.

    • Cory Baadsgaard, age 16, Wahluke (Washington state) High School, was on Paxil (which caused him to have hallucinations) when he took a rifle to his high school and held 23 classmates hostage. He has no memory of the event.

    • Chris Fetters, age 13, killed his favorite aunt while taking Prozac.

    • Christopher Pittman, age 12, murdered both his grandparents while taking Zoloft.

Quote ANTIDEPRESSANTS ARE A PRESCRIPTION FOR MASS SHOOTINGS

Before the late nineteen eighties, mass shootings and acts of senseless violence were relatively unheard of. Prozac, the most well known SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) antidepressant, was not yet on the market. When Prozac did arrive, it was marketed as a panacea for depression which resulted in huge profits for its manufacturer Eli Lilly. Of course other drug companies had to create their own cash cow and followed suit by marketing their own SSRI antidepressants.

Subsequently, mass shootings and other violent incidents started to be reported. More often than not, the common denominator was that the shooters were on an antidepressant, or withdrawing from one. This is not about an isolated incident or two but numerous shootings. The question is, during the past twenty years is the use of antidepressants here a coincidence or a causation?

There have been too many mass shootings for it just to be a coincidence. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold killed twelve students and a teacher at Columbine High School. Eric was on Luvox, an antidepressant. The Virginia Tech shooter killed thirty-two people and he was on an antidepressant. While withdrawing from Prozac, Kip Kinkel murdered his mother and stepmother. He then shot twenty-two classmates and killed two. Jason Hoffman wounded five at his high school while he was on Effexor, also an antidepressant. James Holmes opened fire in a Colorado movie theater this past summer and killed twelve people and wounded fifty-eight. He was under the care of a psychiatrist but no information has been released as to what drug he must have been on.

Psychiatrists generally will tell you that these people were mentally ill and they weren’t treated in time or didn’t get enough help to prevent the tragedy. However, Dr. Peter Breggin, who is a psychiatrist, stated that depression rarely leads to violence and that it’s only since the SSRI’s came on the market that such mass shootings have taken place.

In a study of thirty-one drugs that are disproportionately linked to reports of violence toward others, five of the top ten are antidepressants. These are Prozac, Paxil, Luvox, Effexor and Pristiq. Two other drugs that are for treating ADHD are also in the top ten which means these are being given to children who could then become violent. One could conclude from this study alone that antidepressants cause both suicidal thoughts and violent behavior. This is a prescription for mass shootings.

No one can talk their way out of explaining how a person who is previously non-violent and given antidepressants suddenly becomes violent or suicidal. There are multiple cases of children who have committed suicide days after starting to take an antidepressant. In a YouTube video, various parents tell their story about what the antidepressants did to their kids.

A parent retells how his child couldn’t stand how the drugs made him feel and so he committed suicide. Another parent is stuck with the image of his child running in front of a moving car because the child wanted to die. Imagine calling 911 because your child is trying to kill herself when you know your child was not like that before taking the antidepressant. Imagine what you would feel like upon finding out that your child is the shooter in a murderous rampage on the school campus.

While on a mix of antidepressants, sixteen year old Cory Baadsgaard took a rifle to school and held twenty-three students hostage. His father said he was not a violent kid before he took the drugs but while on the medication he was volatile and susceptible to blind rage. Cory does not remember anything other than waking up, not feeling so well and going back to bed. The next thing he remembered was being in juvenile detention. Luckily no one was hurt, but it could have become another mass shooting.

A Harvard psychiatrist closely monitors his patients as he has seen firsthand that those that were not suicidal before became agitated, restless and completely preoccupied with suicidal thoughts. When these patients were taken off the drug, the thoughts went away. Clearly this demonstrates it’s the drugs causing these violent feelings, not the mental health of the patient.

They claim that these drugs are safe and effective but obviously they aren’t. Doctors themselves may not be aware of the dangers of these drugs, but their patients are the ones who will suffer the consequences if they are not told of the potentially lethal side effects. Doctors should at the very least go over the FDA Black Box warning which is on all antidepressants. This warning states that there is an increased risk of suicidal thoughts and behavior by taking the drug. Otherwise, doctors are pretty much pulling the trigger themselves so-to-speak.

The worst part is we are all being misled with false information in regards to “mental illness.” Given the fact that there is not a single diagnostic test for depression or any other “mental disorder,” how can one even attempt to diagnose a “mental disorder” without a shred of scientific evidence to back it up? Opinions about symptoms are not science! There is the “chemical brain imbalance” theory, but where is the science to prove it exists?

The point is you can’t prescribe an antidepressant or any other psychiatric drug when you don’t know the cause of the symptoms. Nothing ever gets treated, helped or fixed without a cause. Instead, mind-altering drugs are being given to our future generation for no sensible or logical reason other than profits for pharmaceutical companies. The only result is dead bodies from mass shootings and that is truly senseless. Check it out for yourself and watch the YouTube video. Check out the list of school incidents linked to SSRIs below. Ensure your children are safe!

Psychiatric Drugs Create Violence & Suicide: School Shootings & Other Acts of Senseless Violence
CCHR campaign launched to educate law enforcement, policy makers and school officials about violence- and suicide-inducing drug risks.

CCHR has released a new report titled Psychiatric Drugs Create Violence & Suicide: School Shootings & Other Acts of Senseless Violence.

This report provides information on more than 30 studies that link antidepressants, antipsychotics, psychostimulants, mood stabilizers and sedative hypnotics to adverse effects that include hostility, mania, aggression, self-harm, suicide and homicidal thoughts.

The 64-page report also details more than 60 examples of school and mass shootings, stabbings and senseless violent acts committed by those under the influence of psychotropic drugs or experiencing serious withdrawal from them.

The goal of this report is to help law enforcement; educators and policy makers learn how psychotropic drugs are a hidden link to the prevalence of violence and suicide in the community.

Whistle blowers have been trying to get the message out concerning pharmaceutical dangers for decades. Dr. David Healy nearly had his career destroyed. In the mid 1990's, I worked as an RN at Emory with Charles Nemeroff. The mid 90's was when I saw psychiatry transform into a pill dispensary. He was taking money from pharmaceutical companies and later was relieved of his position. Then it was also revealed he had falsified research while at Emory.

    Quote Emory Statement

    October 3, 2008

    7:00 PM ET
Senator Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) has raised a number of questions about whether Emory's chairman of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, Dr. Charles Nemeroff, has properly disclosed his financial relationships with pharmaceutical companies. We at Emory take this matter very seriously and are working diligently to determine whether our policies have been observed consistently with regard to the matters cited by Senator Grassley.

In view of the ongoing internal and external investigations into these allegations, Dr. Nemeroff will voluntarily step down as chairman of the department, effective immediately, pending resolution of these issues.Statement: Emory and Dr. Charles Nemeroff
Quote Did Glaxo/Lilly pay Nemeroff to discredit David Healy?

Why was Charles Nemeroff so concerned with David Healy's research back in 2001 regarding SSRi's? Was he told by GlaxoSmithKline and/or Eli Lilly to 'warn' Healy off? Judging by this transcript it appears that not only is Nemeroff a lying fraudulent scuzball - he's an intimidating bastard as well! - That's my opinion. Your thoughts?

"Dr. Nemeroff came up to me in the course of the meeting in what was a very scary meeting between him and me and told me that my career would be destroyed if I kept on showing results like the ones that I'd just shown, that I had no right to bring out hazards of the pills like these." - David Healy

Actual script from 'Dr. David Healy' CBC News and Current Affairs

Broadcast on Tue 12 Jun 2001

DARROW MACINTYRE: A quiet, small town in North Wales. It seems an unlikely place to find a man like David Healy, university professor and psychiatrist, renowned in medical circles from New York to Paris to London as one of Europe's eminent scientist. This time last year, Healy was about to leave Wales. Lured to Toronto by this university teaching hospital, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and the promise of his own research clinic there. Then one day last November, something strange happened. After almost two years of courting Dr. Healy and finally offering him the big job, senior staff at the centre abruptly decided to dump him. They say they found out just in a nick of time that Healy held certain unscientific views about a number of psychiatric drugs, views they say could harm patient care. But many in the academic community think their decision had less to do with science and more to do with money. What this is really about, they say, is the role drug companies play in influencing scientific debate. When it comes to anti-depressants there are few people who know more than Dr. Healy. Especially about a group of drugs called S.S.R.I. or Selective Seratonin Re-uptake Inhibitors. The best known of these is Prozac, the most widely prescribed anti-depressant in the world. But for a decade now, research has suggested that drugs like Prozac may actually cause some people to have suicidal urges. Nobody really knows how often, but Healy thinks often enough to be concerned.

DAVID HEALY: Let's say in the case of Prozac that it causes the problem, it will cause people to commit suicide at a rate of one in 1,000 people who actually go on the drug. To most people here a figure like that, that sounds like a fairly low figure. It sounds like a reasonable trade-off almost. But if 50 million people go on the drug, then that becomes 50,000 suicides which is maybe higher than there has been, but it becomes an awfully big figure. It's what the FDA call the public health multiplier which is a small hazard distributed among millions of people becomes a big problem.

MACINTYRE: Recently David Healy conducted studies aimed at trying to figure out just who is at risk and who isn't. Are you opposed to the use of S.S.R.I.'s?

HEALY: Absolutely not. No. My Ph.D. thesis was on the seratonin re-uptake system and I've been, I was one of the people when the S.S.R.I.'s came out first who would have been much quicker than most of the rest of my colleagues to use this new group of drugs. I continue to put a very large number of people that I see on the drugs. And I believe as the research that we've done indicates that if you're really going to use the drugs properly and I'm in the business of using these drugs to treat people, is you're really going to find out who does well on these drugs, what you find out at the same time is who does poorly.

MACINTYRE: Dr. Healy's not the first one to document this problem. Doctors at Harvard University raised concerns about S.S.R.I.'s and suicide years ago. Harvard lecturer and psychiatrist Joseph Glen Mullen wrote about it in his book "Prozac Backlash". He says more doctors should listen to Healy.

JOSEPH GLEN MULLEN: Dr. Healy for many, many years has been widely regarded as one of the leading psychiatrist in Europe and really in the world. His research is outstanding. And he's one of the few people who has continued to do research on the suicidality issue in particular and been a strong proponent of patients needing to get this kind of information.

MACINTYRE: Last summer, the centre made it official. They wanted Healy as the top scientist in their mood and anxiety disorders clinic. They offered him the director's job and he accepted.

HEALY: I felt very good about it. And I also brought over my family and certainly they all seemed reasonably open to the move as well. So we all began to get fairly excited.

MACINTYRE: At the time the centre had no problem with Healy's research. But someone else did.

CHARLES NEMEROFF: Hello. My name is Charles Nemeroff.

MACINTYRE: Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Atlanta's prestigious Emory University, Dr. Charles Nemeroff is a highly respected and influential scientist. And a paid consultant to a dozen drug companies. A leading psychiatric magazine recently profiled him under the headline Boss of Bosses. Is the brash and controversial Charles Nemeroff, the most powerful man in psychiatry. Inside the authors wrote, Nemeroff is among the most coveted advisors to the pharmaceutical industry. And he fully expects to lead the corporate strategies of those he advises. Those who do not heed his advice are often the recipients of his wrath. Last summer at Cambridge University in England, Healy had a brush with the boss of bosses.

HEALY: Dr. Nemeroff came up to me in the course of the meeting in what was a very scary meeting between him and me and told me that my career would be destroyed if I kept on showing results like the ones that I'd just shown, that I had no right to bring out hazards of the pills like these.

MACINTYRE: In a written statement, a doctor who witnessed the confrontation told us, when it became clear that David Healy would not back down from his points of view, Nemeroff said that what Healy was publishing might harm the drug industry, specifically Eli Lilly. He, Charles Nemeroff, said that these people were ruthless and would go to great lengths to make life hard for academics who published articles associating suicide with Prozac.

HEALY: It was a fairly short encounter. It lasted about two or three minutes but a very scary one.

MACINTYRE: James Turk is with the Canadian Association of University Teachers. He says to a drug company concerned about profits, researchers like Healy could be seen as dangerous.

JAMES TURK: I mean he's one of the world's leading scholars on anti-depressants. He's done clinical trials for some of the drug companies. But what he isn't is not in the drug companies' pockets. And Healy's argument is that S.S.R.I.'s are suitable for some patients but in fact can be very harmful for others. And the impression I get is that the drug companies want 100 percent of the market whereas if you do that research and Healy's right, that there are 40 percent or 50 percent of the people who currently get S.S.R.I.'s for whom it's not appropriate, then the market is cut in half.
Quote Film of a book by Professor David Healy.
When we stop at the pharmacy to pick up our Prozac®, are we simply buying a drug? Or are we buying into a disease as well? The first complete account of the phenomenon of antidepressants, this authoritative, highly readable book relates how depression, a disease only recently deemed too rare to merit study, has become one of the most common disorders of our day—and a booming business to boot.

The Antidepressant Era chronicles the history of psychopharmacology from its inception with the discovery of chlorpromazine in 1951 to current battles over whether these powerful chemical compounds should replace psychotherapy. An expert in both the history and the science of neurochemistry and psychopharmacology, David Healy offers a close-up perspective on early research and clinical trials, the stumbling and successes that have made Prozac® and Zoloft® household names. The complex story he tells, against a backdrop of changing ideas about medicine, details the origins of the pharmaceutical industry, the pressures for regulation of drug companies, and the emergence of the idea of a depressive disease. This historical and neurochemical analysis leads to a clear look at what antidepressants reveal about both the workings of the brain and the sociology of drug marketing.

Most arresting is Healy's insight into the marketing of antidepressants and the medicalization of the neuroses. Demonstrating that pharmaceutical companies are as much in the business of selling psychiatric diagnoses as of selling psychotropic drugs, he raises disturbing questions about how much of medical science is governed by financial interest.

This video is very helpful in understanding HOW pharmaceutical research is able to manipulate the studies. This is the same issue in all medication trials (including those for vaccines) and NO WONDER we cannot trust the medical industrial complex offerings.

Teachers recommended ritalin for my little boy in Pre Kindergarten! We are talking around 3-4 years old! I was so very appalled, for as far as I was concerned, he was as bright and delightful as could be, and so very interested and inquisitive about everything. I had never set a limit on where his interests took him, and let him digest as much as he wanted about various subjects. Apparently, though, he was seen as a problem in preschool for 3 and for 4 years olds, as he was going through a phase where he had to be first in everything. First in line, first to answer, first to blurt out. And one day he pushed a girl out of the way to be first, they told me. I was called in repeatedly to discuss disruptive behavior, and a psychiatrist and ritalin was advised.

Anyway - no way I was going to poison that mind, so I outright refused. Instead, I simply worked harder for a few months to teach the fact that being first and best didn't matter. A couple times when he went tearing to the bus stop because he had to be first, I literally held him back, and made him be last in the line boarding the bus. I concentrated on toning him down.

A year later, in kindergarten, I was yet again called in for a conference, and I approached it with some dread. What now? But to my surprise, this teacher greeted me with all smiles about the "good news" she had for me, and how impressed she was with my son. I even asked if she may possibly have me mixed up with a different mom. Apparently, she had chosen some children to be tested for the gifted program, and my son had scored extremely high. She also gave him full access to the library, instead of only the picture book section the rest of the class generally used. He was so happy, as he could bring home books about rocketry, chemistry, geology, etc. He was also given some extra, interesting, advanced classes.

Of course he is grown now, does well, seems happy, and was able to attend Wharton on full scholarship eventually. I shudder to think what his life may have become if I had not fiercely protected that precious brain from embarking on the mind-altering path that so many parents acquiesce to due to pressure by the "experts".
