    Default Diamond star thrills astronomers

    Quote Twinkling in the sky is a diamond star of 10 billion trillion trillion carats, astronomers have discovered.

    The cosmic diamond is a chunk of crystallised carbon, 4,000 km across, some 50 light-years from the Earth in the constellation Centaurus.

    It's the compressed heart of an old star that was once bright like our Sun but has since faded and shrunk.

    Astronomers have decided to call the star "Lucy" after the Beatles song, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.

    Love music lore...
    {VERSE 1}
    Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
    With tangerine trees and marmalade skies.
    Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
    A girl with kaleidoscope eyes.

    Cellophane flowers of yellow and green,
    Towering over your head.
    Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes,
    And she's gone.

    {CHORUS}
    Lucy in the sky with diamonds,
    Lucy in the sky with diamonds,
    Lucy in the sky with diamonds,
    Ah... Ah...

    {VERSE 2}
    Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain,
    Where rocking horse people eat marshmallow pies.
    Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers,
    That grow so incredibly high.

    Newspaper taxis appear on the shore,
    Waiting to take you away.
    Climb in the back with your head in the clouds,
    And you're gone.

    {CHORUS}

    Picture yourself on a train in a station,
    With plasticine porters with looking glass ties.
    Suddenly someone is there at the turnstile,
    The girl with kaleidoscope eyes.

    The song was written in 1967 by a band that very possibly took a drug or two
    I know which story seems more lightly to me

    Oh please dont misunderatand ...i was just showing another point of view..

    Ofcourse the song is fulll of overtones all about drug experiences ..but the influence from the kids drawing is a likely motivator for the song as well imo..

    my dad sang the Beatles through out my life... so much so..when i got older and heard them on the radio, i was very surprised because i was convinced he had written them! lol

    Then let us offer you this small present for your birthday Morguana

    (and I'm saving a lot of energy by telling my wife; sorry honey but it's late a bit, already conquered by Morguana )

    For insurance purposes it is valued at one galaxy, three solar systems, and one big planet---give or take a moon or two.
