It would seem this is a prevalent problem with facebook... Their attitude stinks, they really couldn't give a toss, as long as people still keep clicking on their adverts they don't care.

What's needed is some profile badge that certifies whether a page/group is legit, similar to what Twitter do maybe.

I wonder how many people have been impersonated on FB and don't even know it as there seems to be nothing to stop them, little to no regulations. It gets tiring seeing the "one ups" for the evils all the time.

I recommend you contact Electronic Frontier Foundation.
They will provide you with a list of lawyers who you can contact.
Most likely, one of them would be willing to sue Facebook on contingency and have a lot of fun with it.

The other thing I would mention is that if Facebook is indeed refusing to take it down after lots of complaints, they are actually advocating identity theft.
You do have grounds for contacting federal law enforcement if you really want to make it stop.
Of course, identity theft are two very important words to use.

Project Camelot's website has been working poorly during the last few weeks. Kerry's blog is loading really slowly and the forum is not even responding. Is the website constantly under attack?

What if that facebook page is a simple fan page? The title might sound confusing but it is not necessarily an impersonation. Someone could create a fan page called ''Michael Jackson - The greatest'' or something, which doesn't mean that he is being impersonated. The negative post could be a personal opinion of the owner or the page might have been hacked.

I use them like they use me, when i want to put the word out, i go there, twitter and a few political grassroots action sites. WE get the word out and change the way tptw effect nations, people, communities and the planet.

They really don't like us too much, but oh well, that's the hand we're dealt and I know how to play. You can play too.

It appears that the post impersonating me was by written an admin he had appointed -- Mel Ve. Mel is the interviewer for Freedom Central, and did this excellent 2009 interview of me here:

Mel Ve was no friend of Kerry (and vice versa), and it appears that Mel unaccountably used the opportunity she had as an admin of the page to badmouth Kerry -- and make it look as if it was coming from me.

Case closed. Mel's access to the site has been removed by Mark Holford. Shame on her. The Facebook account should now be operating again as normal.

Oh.. Mel and her husband did some good interviews on their site- Freedom Central. Codes of behaviour seem to easily be broken these days, even by those who have taken on themselves to pursue the truth, and truth was not in any priority when using two people in this way. how unfortunate.
