Early Monday morning, 13 people were caught in the cross fire of a drive by shooting in
Washington, DC. The police department has released surveillance footage in hopes of
identifying the suspect's vehicle and despite its proximity to Capitol Hill, it's not being
reported on national news. So why does the mainstream media choose to ignore some
of the incidents? Immortal Technique, hip-hop artist and activist, joins us to discuss
why this type of violence is sometimes overlooked.

On Monday night, residents in Brooklyn, New York held a candlelit vigil for 16-year-
old Kimani Gray, an African American teenager who was shot and killed by two New
York police officers on Saturday. According to law enforcement, Gray pointed a
loaded gun at the officers before the cops opened fire. The peaceful demonstration
protesting the incident quickly turned chaotic after protesters started hurling bottles
at police officers. Activist Carl Dix joins us to discuss what needs to change in order
to stop these incidents from reoccurring.

Despite platitudes about living in a race-blind society, a new study from Brandeis
University shows that the wealth gap between Whites and Blacks tripled in the last
25 years. The study surveyed 1,700 households of working age between 1984 and
2009. There's no better to see how wealth and race meet face-to-face than
Washington, DC. RT producer Gavino Garay sits down with Maurice Jackson,
Professor of African American Studies at Georgetown University, to understand
why, after so many years of racial 'equality,' Blacks are nowhere near the same
socioeconomic status as Whites.

The primary role of police in America is to serve and protect, but who will protect US
citizens from the police? In one case journalist Mannie Garcia was arrested for video
recording police as they detained two men in Maryland. Garcia was charged with
disorderly conduct, but the US Justice Department has confirmed that he was within his
rights to film these public servants. Robert Corn-Revere, Garcia's lawyer, joins us to
discuss what the controversy is all about.

as long as Americans let their kids be inundated in gov't/hollywood violence,
there will be a huge problem in the USA~

also there is a lot of racism!!!!!! it's behind probably half the killings.
even in Seattle we have some cop killers and cops who have killed minorities!
it's mostly racial even here!

you wouldn't think that such a "forward thinking city" would be such a craphole,
but then again our Space Needle was built in honor of Hitler's #2 radio station in Stuttgart

p.s. see how hollywood has tried hard to market handguns to minorities?
black rappers etc. use guns as an icon of power.

just like drones strike terror in the middle east,
minorities are being encouraged to engage in the kinds of behaviors that fundamentally end up robbing them of their American freedoms.
