    Hi Studeo,

There are aproximately 8,000 objects, ranging from rocket booster parts, Sputniks, spent space satellites (the type that China, India, Holand and the US sent to explode on the Moon) circling the Earth according to NASA, of which around 3,000 are actual working satellites. I think the NASA website has a part where you can track and estimate where your favourite satelite is.

Not taking the merit away from the producer of the film in question, but with all these objects floating around up there, it's a fair assumption that the vast majority of images are of those objects and the 'shapeshifting' qualities are just reflections or shadows as these objects pass by.

You can get more info: http://science.nasa.gov/realtime/

On all satelites in orbit visit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satelli...cation_payload

If you wish to know where old satellites go to die visit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graveyard_orbit

When you get to the principal page, click on each satellite model and see how each and every one are very different in shape and size, and they are only the older ones!

    Happy hunting!

    Best regards,

    Steve
