My son was attacked by a pack of pit bulls today.

My son Jason was viciously attacked by a group of pit bulls today. The attack
was totally unprovoked. He went to check the mail because he had ordered
a game online and a group of adult male pit bulls surrounded him. They bit his
arms and legs all over.They shredded his pants.They tried knocking him to the
ground but were unsuccessful.My son is just a kid but he is very big and strong.

If he would have been smaller kid like my son josh, he could have been ripped
apart.My son has had to take about 30 shots today for rabies but he is alright.
It's the neighbors dogs and he lets them roam around unchained. So I have
decided i'm going to put them down before they kill a little kid. Ill be back later

OMG jagman, I am sooo sorry. The quickest healing remedy is to put eggshell membrane (take it right out of the fresh egg) and put it on the torn skin. The skin will heal within a few days to a week to practically no scarring. I just recently learned about that one and tried it. Quite amazing.

Pitbulls or any dogs should never run lose anywhere and are the sole responsibility of their owner. Pitbulls are amazing dogs but need to be trained (as any dog should be). Personally, if I saw any stray pitbull, German Shepherd or mutt, I would stay away. If my neighbors had lose dogs, I would call them on their responsibility before an incident -- and if to no avail, I would not walk without a break stick (to pry open a locked jaw) or club-cane to defend myself.
In the past my neighbor's pitbulls got lose a couple times and I did call the police and animal services who asked if I wanted to file a claim -- and I told them, that all I wanted is that the owners took responsibility for their roaming pets and make sure they could not escape their confinements in the future. That was years ago, the police actually went to the neighbors and talked to them.

It is the master of the dog who needs the lesson, for sure. However, when a dog has started to hit people and likes human blood, the dog is corruped,thanks to its owner and has to be discarded I think. If not it will try to kill a human again, instead of protecting as its role is.

When I was small and one of our dogs would have tasted fresh blood, from stolen chicken for example, even if well fed, my dad would kill the dog. He was saying a dog who has tasted fresh blood when not hungry may kill one of my children.

I am very sorry for your kid Jagman, truly.

We have this problem in my neighboroud, and 10 years of complaints and police records has changed nothing. Up to a point where my neighbour are thinking of taking care of it themselves, but in canada, arms are forbidden.

Jagman, my heart goes out to you, your son and family... and even if it sounds heartless... the dogs.

There are no winners in this situation. I believe the dogs have been raised into confusion. Dogs have of course natural instincts, but this is not one of them.

These dogs, pit bulls, are abused through many generations. As you for certain know they are commonly used in dog fights. Therefore many breeds pit bulls in a certain way, they try to strenghten and purify the morbid side and killing instinct within them. It has gone so far in some countries, so in some of them pit bulls are forbidden, our neighbour Norway is one example. Sweden has considered to forbid them as well.

I wish your son a quick healing as well as I wish that the dogs can be rehabilitated.
One way to pacify your soul might be to have a neighbour meeting regarding this dilemma, discuss the current issue with a nearby animal shelter or maybe even with the local police!

Take a breath and sit back for a moment - you don't want to do anything that will cause you additional problems. Knee jerk reactions, no matter how justified, have a way of coming back to hurt us. Jagman, sorry to hear about the attack. I'd definitely exhaust every legal recourse before taking any action that might land you in hot water. If it does come to taking matters into your own hands, I certainly would refrain from posting anything further on-line.
