Default Canadian PRISM scandal, spying on our communications

We have, it seems, as the Americans, the exact same secret communications spying on all Canadians, since at least 2011. What Americans do, Canadians follow.
American just has to shout at Canadians for them to obey, thanks more and more to Harper.

Defence Minister Peter MacKay approved a secret electronic eavesdropping program that scours global telephone records and Internet data trails – including those of Canadians – for patterns of suspicious activity.

Mr. MacKay signed a ministerial directive formally renewing the government’s “metadata” surveillance program on Nov. 21, 2011, according to records obtained by The Globe and Mail. The program had been placed on a lengthy hiatus, according to the documents, after a federal watchdog agency raised concerns that it could lead to warrantless surveillance of Canadians.

Thanks, I was pretty much assuming that was the case,
    now we have some confirmation.

    I'M SORRY CANADA!!!!!!!!

I hope that will ease up some of the trumped up guilt of being American at this point in time.

Well the UK shares information with the Canadian authorities, so it's seems so called free countries are the most watched citizens in the world.

I believe it is the other way around, Test it on the Canadians, if they do not know or aknowledge its existance, puting up very little resistance... next step try it on a larger population base, The US.... We've had see something say something for far longer ( Crime Stoppers) we have been florided since the early eighties and sooner...
When living in a country with free thought, you'll find many do not feel the need to think.

Well DouglasDanger, the GMO scandal goes with what you say as well. Canada has been extensively GMOed much before the USA and without any approval from its citizens (in secret kind of).

hey flash, they spy on everyone, all the time, hell they have a low grade newbee trolling around reading this as I type it, if I use a buzzword it will pop up on a server and attention will be drawn to it ... I took a special class years ago, in radio telephone operations, when I was in the army, even then the theme always stated at the end of each class was, remember when you talk on any airwave , somebodys listening ...this was back in 1987 ...they took us off of analog to help compile data on us, and if a solar flare happens , digital goes down but , analog still works just fine ... and the only ones will analog is the military ...
