    Default Sharing some Astrophotography

    Hi all!

I just would like to share some of my achievments since i got to astrophotography last year. Many of us here probably get that 'I belong there' kind of feeling when we look at deep space objects! I hope it can inspire you, too!

    Great work!

What are you using for a set-up?

I got my hands on a Celestron super C8 and a 6" Meade Comet Tracker. It is all 80's vintage and the photgraphy set up is for film cameras. I haven't decided on a model of digital camera yet, and until I do that, I need to hold off on buying the adapters.

Have you been out with a local club or a mentor? Or did you learn through books and an online community?
Just because I took the red pill, it doesn't mean that I washed it down with the koolaid

    Thank you guys!

Im glad you enjoyed and thank you for your kind comments. I hope next year i will have improved a lot and be able to make some real work on this. I think i will spend much more money on equipment in the near future... what to do...

    Hey Lazlo!

Im using a kind of begginer/primitive setting right now, which translates into:
    -skywatcher 130mm
    -EQ2 mount
-R.A. motor axis (bought it after i had the setup)
-Canon 1000D, second hand (its unmodded yet, i would like to have time, patiente and skill to modd it)

Thats it. They are all in prime focus, that meaning Camera attached to telescope directly (with a T-ring)

Then i use some software like Astrophotography Tool (APT) to control my Canon thorugh USB (exposure, ISO, etc), Photoshop and Registax for editing... thats about it.

I learned all through the internet. Its amazing how much skill you can develop by contacting with others. If you are interested, you should register in this great Forum for Astronomy: Stargazers Lounge.

    Cheers,
    Rui

Nice work considering the equipment you have...

I have something along the lines of a XLT11 from Celestron, I have yet to get some pictures as nice as you have.

Did some great Jupiter pics tho...

    Keep 'em coming, great work...
