I doubt it is in the french ones..the witnesses seem to all me english and the event was witnessed in the west island, a very english neighborhood.

It is not the first sighting in Montreal...

    • 1990: Montréal, Québec, Canada UFO - November 7, 1990, More than 40 people, including policemen, observe a UFO for more than 3 hours above a hotel in downtown Montréal.

I remember that one, it was above Place Bonaventure Hotel. Everyone talked about it for days. I remember a lot more sightings as well ( I am from Montreal, born and raised there). Remember one time that there were sightings at the Dorval airport as well.

    Off topic post!

I remember...going through Dorion, stopping for gas before hitting Mo-re-al. And my sense of humour got the better of me, with regard to making 'Monty Python' like moments of what felt like humour to me.

I was about to pay for the gas..I pull out the money...and ask the attendant, 'Do you take Canadian here?'. The look on his face was priceless. My friends thought I was going to get an asswhupping right then and there...

And calling the airport PET. 'ooh', I said when I saw that.....'that has just got to burn their asses mightily..."

Montreal is my all time favorite town. I've still not manged to get a Schwartz's sandwich. Regular, not the lean, of course. I have a friend JF (Jean-Francios) who has been a bartender, cook, and waiter at all of the best places (fun and thinking people/owners/places -not expensive) in the core, for the past 20 years. He takes us to the most amazing watering and eating holes. Every time we visit we get the best food, with the best people and the best feel. Just sublime. What more can one ask for?

"Dr. Cleve Ziegler, an obstetrician-gynecologist, spotted the object when he was driving home from work around 12:30 a.m."

English speaking and Montreal. Yep, that's about right....

LOL..i know some gas stations would have given you an ass "wooping" but you were in the west island..mostly english there so it wasnt as brave as your friends thought...

PET...well the reason why its "not funny" here...is that there is no translation for "pet" per say.....unless you mean "pet" phonetically speaking, there for it translates to fart..lol...had never thought of that one.

As for eateries.. have you tried La Banquise? A restaurant specializing in Poutines (a whole page in the menu is filled with a variety of kinds of poutines), if not ask your friend to take you there next time. It on Rachel street, open 24 hours and has a liquor license.

    On topic..

I have been trying to find people I know , from that area , that may have seen something..no luck yet.

I posted something about it few months ago. http://projectavalon.net/forum4/show...a-UFO-sigthing

The archive of CBC were removed on this topic. Nevertheless, the video is still quite interesting.

Language is language. I don't understand. It's a french colony and I'm sure that not even actual French people are as uptight about language as Francophones are.

I was living in Laval des Rapides, just by the water for 4 years at that time. Not so far from Pont Viau. But it was in 90-94, just before I left for Brazil. Now, I'm back in my native land. It's nice to see you here! And welcome.
