Just read an article and it made me smile

Its a great way to show that awakening others and mocking the system doesnt have to be harsh, we can have a little fun with making our feelings known and getting our point across...

On Tuesday, surveillance cameras in the center of the city of Utrecht (Netherlands) were decorated with colorful party hats to celebrate the 110th birthday of George Orwell, Dutch art duo Front404 explained on their website.


“George Orwell is best known for his book ‘1984’, in which he describes a dystopian future society where the populace is constantly watched by the surveillance state of Big Brother.”


“By putting these happy party hats on the surveillance cameras we don’t just celebrate Orwell’s birthday.”


“By making these inconspicuous cameras that we ignore in our daily lives catch the eye again we also create awareness of how many cameras really watch us nowadays.”


“And [how] the surveillance state described by Orwell is getting closer and closer to reality.”

Eric Blair would definitely have got a laugh out of this...it all depends on the intent of the observer also-I'm sure footage from street cameras
have helped put away violent attackers-so we have to be careful in our blanket assessments.

apparently they came back the next day to see ants crawling all oer them lol

Funny you have read an article about Dutch artists

It's not funny at all the things 'they' are doing,
but most of the time it's better to make fun out

So true GalaxyHorse, it is a double edged sword we behold. The very thing that helps keep us safe and stops others getting away with taking our liberties...also takes away our liberties!

And such is the bittersweet world of technology we now live in!
