Attack On Iran Imminent, Warns Fidel Castro

As I was writing every one of my previous Reflections, and a catastrophe was quickly zeroing in on humanity, my major concern was to fulfill the primary duty to inform our people.

Today, I feel more relax than 26 days ago. As the situation evolves, I can reiterate and expand on the information to the national and international public.

Obama has committed to attend the quarterfinals match on July 2, if his country’s team makes it to that stage. He supposedly knows better than anyone that the quarterfinals will not be contested because very serious developments will take place before that; or at least he should know.

Last Friday, June 25, an international press agency known for the attention to details in its reports, published a statement by the “…Navy Commander of the elite Corps of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution General Ali Fadavi…,” warning “…that if the United States and its allies inspect Iranian ships in international waters ‘they will have their response in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.’”
The information was taken from the local news agency Mehr of Iran.

According to the press dispatch, said news agency reported that “Fadavi added that ‘the Navy of the Revolutionary Guardians currently has hundreds of vessels equipped with missile launchers.’”
The information, produced approximately at the same time of what Granma published or perhaps before, seemed at some points an exact copy of the Reflections elaborated on Thursday June 24th and ran by that paper on Friday 25th.

The coincidence can be explained by the simple use of a logical reasoning. I was completely unaware of what the Iranian local agency had published.

I have absolutely no doubt that as soon as the American and Israeli warships are deployed –alongside the rest of the American military vessels positioned off the Iranian coasts– and they try to inspect the first merchant ship from that country, there will be a massive launching of missiles in both directions. At that moment exactly the terrible war will begin. It’s not possible to estimate how many vessels will be sunk or from what country.

Knowing the truth timely is the most important thing for our people.

US pushing EU for new Iran sanctions

The US is pushing the European Union into imposing new sanctions against Iran over Tehran's nuclear program, a senior US official says.

Robert Einhorn, the US State Department coordinator for Iran sanctions, said he held meetings in Brussels with EU officials on Tuesday to discuss measures being drafted against Iran.

"What we hope is that stronger measures on the pressure side, on the sanctions side will give leaders in Iran strong incentives to come to the negotiating table and work with us on a solution to the nuclear issue," AFP quoted Einhorn as saying.

"We very much welcome the declaration that was adopted on June 17 by the European Council," he added.

While the US has asked for even more pressure on Iran, EU leaders in a European Council summit held in Brussels on June 17, have already approved new sanctions against Iran that include a ban on new investment, technical assistance and technology transfers to Iran's huge gas and oil industry, particularly for refining and liquefied natural gas.

Tehran has repeatedly declared that it will not give up the legitimate nuclear rights of the Iranian nation under Western pressure.

While the US possesses and has used nuclear weapons in the past, Washington, in a politically-motivated move, is imposing unilateral sanctions against Iran, which does not possess nuclear weapons nor does it seek to develop such weapons.

Turkey renews call for diplomacy on Iran

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has highlighted the importance of continuing diplomatic efforts to find a solution to the dispute over Iran's nuclear program.

"We attach great importance to the continuation of diplomatic efforts, despite the new sanctions resolution," Davutoglu said, referring to a US-proposed sanctions resolution against Iran that was approved by the UN Security Council on June 9.

"We have always called on all parties to avail themselves of the opportunities offered by the Tehran declaration to find a peaceful solution," Turkey's Cihan news agency quoted Davutoglu as saying on Wednesday.

The foreign ministers of Iran, Turkey, and Brazil signed a declaration in Tehran on May 17, according to which the Islamic Republic would ship 1200 kilograms of its low-enriched uranium to Turkey to be exchanged for 120 kilograms of 20 percent enriched nuclear fuel rods to power the Tehran research reactor, which produces radioisotopes for cancer treatment.

On Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said Tehran would respond to a proposal by Russia to meet with the Vienna Group (the US, Russia, and France) after consulting with Brazil and Turkey.

"After coordinating with Brazil and Turkey over the next two days, a location for this meeting will be decided. However, we propose holding the talks in Tehran," Mottaki stated.

I am less convinced this has anything to do with the Masons and more to do with Israel just waiting for the U.S to fulfill their prophecy for them, of course this is only in reference to the radical elements within the U.S and Israeli governments, this is not to do with the majority of citizens of both countries.

    'Iran economy ups despite sanctions'

The volume of transactions in Iran's investment market has seen a 10 percent growth despite new UN Security Council (UNSC) sanctions, an Iranian official says.

The UNSC adopted new sanctions against the Islamic Republic last month. The sanctions came after US's hard lobbying for new punitive measures against Tehran over its nuclear work.

Behrouz Alishiri, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, said Thursday that the new sanctions have proved to be futile as the volume of transactions in Iran's investment market has seen a 10 percent growth since the ratification of the UN resolution, IRNA reported.

The Iranian official further pointed out that according to the reports released by the International Monetary Fund, foreign investment in Iran has risen from $900 million in 2007 to $3 billion in 2009.

Alishiri, who is also the Director of the Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran, said that cheap energy resources and skillful human force were among the reasons behind foreign investment in the country.

According to Alishiri, Iran's stable economic condition has also attracted foreign investment to the country.

Poll reveals UN 'hypocrisy' on Iran

An opinion poll suggests that the new UN Security Council (UNSC) sanctions on Iran's civilian nuclear program have exposed the body's double standards in nuclear policy.

More than 58 percent of respondents participating in the latest Press TV poll believe that last month's sanctions adopted by the UNSC indicate that the international body lacks a consistent framework in its nuclear policies and deals markedly dissimilarly with different countries.

In addition, around 17 percent of those polled said that the fourth round of UNSC sanctions will not affect the country as it has been under sanctions for about 30 years.

Meanwhile, some 19 percent of the participants maintain that the UNSC's move was politically-motivated and lobbied by the US despite its possession and historical application of nuclear weapons.

Only less than 5 percent of the respondents said that the new measures will force Iran to backtrack from its nuclear energy pursuit.

In the course of a June 9 session, the UNSC voted in favor of a resolution to impose further sanctions against the Islamic Republic over its nuclear program.

The fourth round of sanctions was adopted against Iran over its uranium enrichment -- depicted as a threat in the West despite repeated assurances from the IAEA on the non-diversion of nuclear material in the country.

This is while 118 member states of the Non-Aligned Movement has recently voiced support for Iran's right to the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

The controversial resolution tightens a previously-adopted arms embargo on Iran and bans the country from activities such as uranium mining. It also aims to hurt the country's energy and financial sectors.

'Israel would never dare to attack Iran'

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has ruled out the possibility of a military attack on Iran over its nuclear program, saying no country would dare to launch an offensive on the country.

In an interview with the Kyodo news agency, when asked about prospects for an Israeli attack on Iran, Ahmadinejad said, "No one dares to do so."

"Israel is on a course of decline. Moreover, Iran is a great country and was not established by occupying other countries' land or through terrorism, imprisonment, and killing. Iran has a 7,000-year-old civilization," Ahmadinejad said in the interview, according to a report posted on the Iranian Presidential Office's website on Wednesday.

"The United States, which is the master of the Zionists, does not dare to attack Iran, let alone a fake regime (Israel) whose existence is dubious," the Iranian president added.

Ahmadinejad also stated that new sanctions imposed on Iran over its nuclear program will not compel the Islamic Republic to relinquish its rights.

"They assume that if they brandish a stick during negotiations, they can take advantage of Iran, but they should know that this will not happen," the Iranian president said.

Israel — the only entity in the Middle East that possesses nuclear weapons — has repeatedly voiced its determination to stop Iran's nuclear program, even through military means.

Tehran says its nuclear program is completely peaceful and has never been diverted to weapons production.

    Total: Iran sanctions serious mistake

The CEO of French energy giant Total, Christophe de Margerie, says imposing sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program was a "serious mistake."

Speaking at an economic forum in Aix-en-Provence in southern France, Margerie confirmed Total had suspended fuel deliveries to Iran in line with sanctions adopted by the UN, US and the EU.

"I maintain this is a mistake. The embargo affects the population, too many things are politicized these days," he told the media on Friday.

Margerie noted that an embargo on petrol products would harm ordinary people in Iran.

"We do not think an embargo on the delivery of petrol products is a good way to settle differences of a political nature," he said.

He stressed that Total would resume deliveries at the first opportunity, saying it was a "serious mistake to mix things that are civil and political."

The UN Security Council adopted a fourth round of sanctions against Iran on June 9, despite strong opposition by Turkey and Brazil — both temporary members of the council.

This is while in addition, US President Barack Obama approved unilateral Iran sanctions on Thursday. The EU is also set to finalize further measures at a meeting of foreign ministers on July 26.

Israel Suspected in Bogus Claim Iran Developing Nuclear Trigger

Back in December, 2009, a story published by The Sunday Times warned that Iran was in the process of developing a neutron initiator, the component of a nuclear bomb that triggers an explosion. “Foreign intelligence agencies date them to early 2007, four years after Iran was thought to have suspended its weapons programme,” Catherine Philp wrote for the British newspaper. “An Asian intelligence source last week confirmed to The Times that his country also believed that weapons work was being carried out as recently as 2007.”
As it turns out the story about Iran’s supposed nuclear trigger was not provided by Asian intelligence but more likely the Israeli government with possible help by the British.

“U.S. intelligence has concluded that the document published recently by the Times of London, which purportedly describes an Iranian plan to do experiments on what the newspaper described as a ‘neutron initiator’ for an atomic weapon, is a fabrication, according to a former Central Intelligence Agency official,” reports IPS. “Philip Giraldi, who was a CIA counterterrorism official from 1976 to 1992, told IPS that intelligence sources say that the United States had nothing to do with forging the document, and that Israel is the primary suspect. The sources do not rule out a British role in the fabrication, however.”

The bogus claim prompted a new round of support for more aggressive U.S. and European sanctions against Iran. It also underscored a U.S. intelligence report in 2007 concluding that Iran had conducted secret research on building a nuclear weapon until 2003, when its leaders stopped the effort in response to international pressure, according to the Washington Post. European and Middle Eastern analysts claim Iran resumed a nuclear weapon research in 2005.

'Iran knows how to bypass sanctions'

An Iranian lawmaker says Tehran has learned how to bypass sanctions and by establishing ties with different countries turn threats into opportunities.

"If resolutions and sanctions were going to be effective, the first resolutions would have worked and there would be no need for passing four UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions," member of Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Seyyed Hossein Naqavi Hosseini said.

He went on to add that the head of International Atomic Energy Agency has reiterated the non-diversion of Iran's nuclear program in nearly 22 statements and said, "The US is merely pursuing political objectives and intends to tighten pressure on Iran."

Naqavi Hosseini said that the Israeli lobby was the force behind the adoption of resolutions against Iran and described sending messages to international personalities in defense of the Iranian nation's nuclear rights as the only way to counter anti-Iran efforts.

The Iranian lawmaker went on to add that Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki's letters to the 15 members of the UNSC written in critique of serial resolutions against Iran was effective.

On June 9, the UNSC adopted a resolution imposing a fourth round of sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program. The US and EU also imposed unilateral sanctions against Tehran shortly afterwards.

Tehran rejects Western accusations that it intends to develop nuclear weapons, and has asserted that Iran's nuclear capabilities are only aimed at peaceful purposes such as the development of the country's energy and medical infrastructure.

Sanctions 'costly for US,' Larijani says

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani has rejected US pressure on Iran over its peaceful nuclear program, saying pursuing failed policies of the past will prove costly for Washington.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Larijani dismissed the effectiveness of threats for resolving Iran's nuclear standoff with the West, saying the issue will only be solved through political means.

"If the US wants to act in the same way as before, this approach would prove costly for them," Larijani explained, adding that Tehran would not tolerate the language of threat.

Referring to US efforts to impede Iran's progress on the industrial and nuclear stage over the past thirty years, the top Majlis official said the Iranian nation has overcome every such obstacle, ISNA reported.

The remarks come as the US spearheaded efforts for passing a UN Security Council (UNSC) sanctions resolution against Iran over its nuclear work last month.

In addition to the UNSC sanctions, US President Barack Obama on Thursday signed new unilateral sanctions into law, seeking to prevent Iran's access to refined oil products.

The unilateral US sanctions mainly focus on gasoline exports to Iran and target companies that help improve Iran's domestic refinery capacity.

Iran, however, says the sanctions will put no pressure on the country as Tehran has the ability to meet its energy demands on its own.

"We are capable of producing petroleum in our petrochemical complexes," Iranian Oil Minister Massoud Mirkazemi told reporters on Wednesday.

Iran's Deputy Oil Minister Ali Reza Zeighami also said on Thursday that despite sanctions, Iran would achieve self-sufficiency in the production of gasoline within two years, adding that the country would begin gasoline export afterwards.

UN chief warns of fresh Middle East war

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has warned that a fresh conflict could erupt in the Middle East, following an increase in tensions between Israel and Lebanon.

In a report to the UN Security Council on Friday, Ban said the mounting tensions "raised the specter of a miscalculation by either party leading to a resumption of hostilities, with potentially devastating consequences."

The UN chief went on to accuse both sides of violating the 2006 cease-fire resolution that ended the 33-day war between Israel and the Lebanese resistance movement of Hezbollah.

Israel continues to defy international law by conducting daily military flights over Lebanon and by refusing to withdraw from the disputed northern border village of Ghajar, the UN chief said.

He also expressed concern about Israel accusing neighboring Syria of having provided Scud missiles to Lebanon's Hezbollah, saying it has "resulted in increased tension" in the region.

The Israeli accusations were leveled against Syria as both governments in Damascus and Beirut have categorically denied the missile transfer allegation.

The secretary general also voiced concern over the recent scuffles between Lebanese civilians and the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

The confrontation came after UNIFIL staged a controversial maneuver at the beginning of July, which raised public ire in southern Lebanon.

The unilateral drill, which was reportedly aimed at protecting Israel from possible missile attacks from southern Lebanon, was stopped amidst civilian protests.

The Lebanese people have denounced the move as out of ordinary and not in accordance with the mandate of the UNIFIL. They have also blamed the peacekeepers for their inaction toward the almost daily violation of the UN-drawn Blue Line by Israeli forces.

    'Enemies confess Iran sanctions futile'

In the wake of fresh UN Security Council sanctions against Tehran, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki has shrugged off punitive measures.

"Even the enemies of the Islamic Republic confess that sanctions will have no impact on the resolve of the Iranian nation to continue its righteous path," said Mottaki on Saturday.

He added that Iran's firm logic at the 2010 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) review conference in New York has helped change the views of certain countries.

Mottaki noted that the constant resistance of the Iranian nation resulted in an important international organization obliging Israel to become a signatory to the NPT.

The review conference ended with a collective call for the full implementation of a former resolution aimed at establishing a nuclear-weapons-free zone in the Middle East.

Tel Aviv, widely believed to be the possessor of the region's sole nuclear arsenal, was also urged to join the NTP.

While the US possesses and has used nuclear weapons in the past, Washington, in a politically-motivated move, is now imposing unilateral sanctions against Iran, which does not possess nuclear weapons nor seek to develop such weapons.

Iran has repeatedly rejected the West allegations, reserving its right to a peaceful nuclear energy as a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency and a signatory to the NPT.

Quote Russia warns of Iran's potential to build nuclear bomb

MOSCOW (AFP) — Iran is close to having the potential to build a nuclear weapon, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Monday in the clearest indication of Moscow alarm over Tehran's atomic drive.

"Iran is nearing the possession of the potential which in principle could be used for the creation of a nuclear weapon," Medvedev said at a meeting with Russian diplomats quoted by Russian news agencies.

Russia, traditionally a diplomatic and economic ally of the Islamic Republic, has in the past taken a milder line against Tehran than Western powers but has noticeably hardened its position in recent months.

Iran has over the past months been announcing steady advances in its nuclear programme, in defiance of international calls for Tehran to freeze its sensitive uranium enrichment operations.

Iranian atomic chief Ali Akbar Salehi on Sunday said Tehran has produced around 20 kilogrammes of 20 percent enriched uranium.

Abdolrahman Rashed, the former editor-in-chief of Asharq al-Awsat, wrote in the article, “Two weeks ago, the Iranian regime’s officials announced a decision to inspect ships heading towards Arab countries in the region in response to the UN Security Council resolution which called for the inspection of ships headed to Iranian ports if there are suspicions about the shipments.”

“The Iranian regime does not dare to threaten the many American, European or Russian ships with inspection, and has restricted the threat to Arab countries only. This is despite the fact that the Gulf states have no involvement in the UN Security Council resolution and none of the six states has a seat on the Security Council.”

The article added, “Prior to this, Iranian regime officials had announced that in the event of an attack by the US or Israel, they will target the Gulf states. In such a poisonous atmosphere, it is natural for an Arab politician or diplomat to declare that a nuclear-armed Iran will be counted as a threat for us.”

The former editor-in-chief of Asharq al-Awsat adds, “The unambiguous comments of the UAE ambassador were correct. He said we have concerns over what the Iranian regime is currently doing in the region. Imagine how this regime will behave if it were to possess nuclear weapons.”

Rashed also said, “Imagine a nuclear-armed Iranian regime for a second. This regime will not attack Israel, because the Israelis will bury it under hundreds of atomic weapons (in response). The regime may also not attack the Gulf states, but it will try to impose its hegemony. So, the final word is, why is it wrong for an Arab diplomat to say that an attack against the Iranian regime today will be less costly than living alongside a nuclear-armed Iranian regime tomorrow?”

Turkey, China help Iran on fuel supplies after "US bite"

Friendly powers in the international arena are helping Iran get fuel supplies after the U.S. passed unilateral sanctions a week ago that aim to hinder Tehran's fuel imports.

The Islamic Republic is buying around half of its July gasoline imports from Turkey and the rest from Chinese sellers, oil traders said on Thursday, as most other suppliers have stopped selling due to the U.S. sanctions.

Turkish refiner Tupras began supplying gasoline to Iran in June after a hiatus of at least 18 months, trade sources said, just days after Turkey and Brazil brokered a nuclear fuel swap plant with Tehran.

Western powers rejected the plan, and Turkey and Brazil responded by voting against the fourth round of sanctions on Iran at the U.N. security council.

China, one of Iran's main trade partners and a permanent member of the security council, signed up to the U.N. sanctions. But before it did so, Beijing demanded the measures avoid targeting Tehran's oil and gas industries. Earlier this week, China denounced the United States for imposing its own sanctions on Iran.

Two of the gasoline cargoes coming from Turkey were scheduled to load from Turkish refiner Tupras' Izmit refinery, while two or three were scheduled to load from Tupras' Izmir refinery, sources said. The cargoes would be loaded load onto ships owned by the state energy giant National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), they added.

A Tupras spokeswoman was not immediately available for comment on Thursday.

    "US bite"

Iran would import around 90,000 barrels per day (bpd) of gasoline in July, steady from June, oil traders said. It would take around nine cargoes, four or five of them from Turkey and the rest from Chinese sellers, they said.

The limited pool of suppliers was driving up the cost of gasoline for Iran and making it harder for the Islamic Republic to buy the quantities it needs, traders said.

Iran is OPEC's second-largest oil producer but relies on imports to meet up to 40 percent of its gasoline needs as it lacks the refining capacity needed to meet domestic demand.

U.S. sanctions aim to target those imports, allowing for the imposition of bans on access to the U.S. banking system, property transactions and foreign exchange in the United States for international suppliers of gasoline to Iran.

The sanctions were also impacting the international flights operated by Iranian airlines. Two Iranian airplanes have been forced to fly from Hamburg airport without refuelling this week, an airport spokesman said on Thursday.

Washington has not spelled out whether its new sanctions are intended to force firms to refuse to fuel Iranian jets at airports in third countries, but U.S. officials have made it clear they are pleased with reports sanctions had begun to bite.

Please leave Iran alone, like you want them to do you.
If you feel the need to sanction actual, proven misdeeds,
then sanction against yourself, USA and Israel.
Leave this world alone, we need to rest now. And to
dream and to think, long slow thoughts, about tomorrow.

No more need for more drama, our insatiable thirst for cathastophy
and disaster has come to an end. It is done, it is over.

Cheers and horray for the best possible future ..

I envy those who can close their eyes and believe what they don't know won't hurt them...

let's all close our eyes and forget Iran through religion is taking over 55 countries...

Let's all close our eyes and forget Iran has declared a Holy War against all infidels, which is everyone not bowing down to their Supreme Leader...

Let's all close our eyes and forget Iran has the second largest oil fields in the World but since their little chimp came to power instead of building refineries to help the people he has pumped money into their Nuke program...

Let's all close our eyes and forget our oceans are being destroyed by pollution and oil... so it makes 70% of our oxygen, who needs it...

Let's all close our eyes and forget we are at the closest point to the beginning of WW III in history, Anglo Saxon Mission is in full swing and doesn't look stoppable...

You know it worked I'm feeling better already, I'm off to the beach...
