Over the last decade or so I have tried twice, with two different, experienced and highly qualified hypnotherapists that specialise in past-life regression. Neither one of them could even get me into a light trance, with multiple methods, let alone regress me to a past life. The latter of the two had never experienced a failure like that with her techniques.

The only clue as to why this occurred was offered by a medium friend some while later. He claimed that the vibrations of these two hypnotherapists were (I hesitate to say 'not high enough') insufficient, for the task.

I believe Michael Newton has a list of people trained in his method on his website. You can find someone in your area and go to them.
i found one about 3 years ago and both my husband and I went for two sessions each....one was a past life regression and the next day we had the Life between Lives session......apparently you need the past life one done first so they can take you back to your death at that point and from there enter the LBL part........for me I always felt like I was awake and making it all up.......the only life she was able to regress me to was one I had done using a recording myself a few nights before.......my husband however, experienced everything from his conception and birth to his being shot in the head as a soldier in WWII , he said he could even see the bullet as it went through the various parts of his brain. I have never been able to bring myself to listen to the recordings.....for some reason I feel like I remember the whole thing and although I gave all kinds of answers a part of me felt like I was just making it all up.....she said this was because I am very hard on myself in general.

    Good evening all,

After reading the journey of souls book by Michael Newton (separate thread), i have become interested in having a past life regression session.

I have found a few in my area so my question is, has anyone had this done before, and if so would you mind sharing your experiences?

    Thanks
I tried, but was unable to be hypnotized.

Why not seek out someone that has actually trained with Dr. Michael Newton? http://www.spiritualregression.org/s...php?country=UK

I too was encouraged, while fully awake yet relaxed (but not hypnotized), with leading questions, to just come up with the first thing that popped into my head. She said this is often the truth, even if I thought I was making it all up. In my opinion, I was just making it all up, and never had even a tiny revelation about past lives (which I didn't really care about, other than as some sort of confirmation), nor life between lives.

If it wasn't so damned expensive, I would try again - with a different hypnotherapist. In my opinion (and based on Michael Newton's and Brian Weiss' books), if you are not in a very specific type of deep hypnotic trance, you won't break through to those memories. I have heard of people just living life and something hits them (maybe starting with an intense deja vu?) and they instantly recall some past life experience - so maybe past life recall can happen in an altered waking state as well. But the memories of between lives seem to be tucked away much deeper, and I suspect require the specific hypnotic state to evoke.

Hi Etheric Underground, thank you for posting Brian Weiss's video. I watched it yesterday, I actually made myself comfortable and cosy and was in full awrness and with good will

Under his guidance I could see a scene from my childhood that I long forgotten about with my sister and myself, which was very interesting and a good start. (Why did I come back to this scene especially? not sure), then I could feel being/not being in the uterine cavity environment, but after that I was absolutely not being at all, when Weiss's guidance went to the time previous to the womb I lost consciousness for a couple of minutes and remember nothing, then I woke up minutes later and the video was finished, I must have fallen asleep somehow, and I was pretty much awake before .

Now, my conclusions are that weiss's technique is excellent either for remembering your own previous lives, or for replenishing with a short nap. Either way not a bad deal ~

"Neither one of them could even get me into a light trance, with multiple methods, let alone regress me to a past life."

Anyone reading this is in a 'light state of hypnosis' right now. Everyone, whether they realize it or not passes through ( at least ) 'light states of hypnosis' every day. Just 'thinking' or better yet, 'imagining', will invoke a 'light state of hypnosis'. As far is getting a person into 'deeper states of hypnosis' or 'hightened states of suggestibility', ( as I refer to hypnosis ) to accomplish whatever the reason the session is conducted -- that is where the degree of success ( if any ) will be achieved. Obviously, for whatever reason(s) you, Star Mariner, did not achieve that.

The fact ( as you stated ) that these two hypnotherapists were experienced and highly qualified in past-life regression techniques and couldn't even get you into a 'light trance' let alone regress you would lead me to believe that part of, if not all the reason(s) for 'failure' might not be ( as your medium friend suggested ) solely on the hypnotherapists vibrations not being 'high enough'. It takes two to tango, so to speak.

Personally I do not offer past-life regression sessions because they don't interest me. I have, however, on several occasions witnessed clients experience 'spontaneous past-life regressions' when regressing them to earlier episodes in their 'current life'.

I have had ( mostly retired now ) a 90+% success rate with clients. It is NOT because I'm so good at what I do. It is because I turn(ed) away at least 50% of potential clients for failure ( in my experience ) to posess the right motivation to change whatever behavior they came in to change.

Past-life regressions for the most part, as told to me by persons enquiring as to whether I offer that, are "Just for the fun of doing it." There is certainly nothing wrong with that. However I might 'imagine' that a stronger motivation for SOME wanting to experience a past-life regression might lead to a more successful outcome.

Are you getting sleepy, yet? ;-))

One thing I feel I should throw out here, as I haven't seen it mentioned yet. Not all of us are native to this planet. You may call some other world your home, and have had most of your past life incarnations there and not here. The reasons for coming here and taking a tour or two usually has to do with the desire to learn something important, and Earth is the best place to gain that knowledge and experience. Another reason is that you are here to help this planet get through a very crucial point in its history.

In cases like this, where you may only have been here once or twice, or if this is your first time; you should know that it is common practice to evaluate the goals you have set forth for this life, and then to imprint yourself with the past lives of significant people from Earth's history using the data from the Akashic record, in order to assist you in your tasks. You don't want to come here to learn more about, let's say, how to be a better healer, only to be foiled by your inability to master the language you need to speak while you're here because you never spoke it, or read it, or wrote it before.

To someone in this situation, you could get regressed back to when you were the Queen of Sheba, or find out that you were Ernest Hemingway, or whatever, and it would be very difficult to convince you that you really weren't that person.

Usually if I hear someone say they did a regression and they found out they were some king or someone famous from history, this makes my ears perk up, and I take a much greater interest in this most interesting person. Because it's a good bet they are from the stars, and know some pretty cool stuff that they just don't know they know yet.

Some months ago I was hypnotised by one of Dolores Cannon's students here and it didn't even cost a thing. Dolores requires that her students do not take any fees during their first year of practicing the QHHT technique. I think that my trance level wasn't that deep and I have always had problems with getting into a very relaxed state, I just tend to fall asleep then! I've never even had any conscious OBE's no matter how hard I have tried.

However, there was one life that I saw clearly and I think that I was a man living in Atlantis. I think that I died by drowning and it felt very real. I was very skeptic about it, because I thought that my conscious mind was making it all up. I have a very vivid imagination so I can conjure so many things and places in my mind. I had suspected that I have had lives in Atlantis and Carol Clarke the psychich has confirmed it to me.

The place looked somewhat like this. Gardens of Thera.

I think that I should listen to some of those guided sessions so maybe I'll find out more!

I did a past life regression, and it was very interesting. I shopped arounad using the Michael Newton website to look for practicioners, and the most reasonable in cost was someone in Paradise, Ca, which at the time, was where we were about to move to lol.

I don't think the regression information was my imagination, because there was some odd stuff in there, I would never have made up (meeting my father for instance) (a Japanese incarnation as well).

Take blankets! I was freezing cold during the regression, unbelievably cold, my whole body was shaking, teeth chattering.

My attitude towards my father changed completely over the ensuing months after the regression...

I remember my first full blown past life incident.

It was at the Long Beach, California Mission of Scientology in the early 70's. I forget the exact wording of the command my auditor gave me during the session? It went something like this, "Locate a time when you felt ___"? I responded, then a command was given to, " Locate an earlier, similar, time when you felt___"? I responded.

I located a time when I was about 9 years old this lifetime. I had just got through eating fried chicken. My hands were still greasy from the fried chicken. I started swinging on the monkey bars in the playground. I was swinging real high, back and forth when my grip gave out. I landed flat on my back. The fall knocked the breath out of me. Here I was laying flat on my back clutching my throat, panicking, trying to breathe.

My auditor then gave me another command to, "Locate an earlier, similar, time when you felt____". Then...a second later, BOOM! There I was flat on my back, clutching my throat, withering around on the ground again, only this time it was a past life, all in full blown, 3D color and perception. It was as if I had returned there, reliving the incident.

I was a middle aged man. The time was about two and a half hundred years ago in the old south (Georgia, I think?). An all white painted southern plantation mansion lay about 100 ft. away. There was a party or gathering taking place in the mansion. Horses and buckboards were tied outside, the lights were on, and you could hear the people inside. I was formally dressed for the party, complete with the white pants and top, black riding boots, and long sideburns.

For about one or two minuets I lay there under a big Weeping willow tree in front of the mansion, clutching my throat, gasping for air.

    Then, I died!

The body stopped twitching, and I exited the body through the nostrils, I hovered there about two or three inches above my nose, looking down at the body and around at the environment, contemplating my predicament.

....and that was all of that incident.

Nobody posted in this thread for some time..
I'll bring it to life with my experience.
I had my first past life regression a week ago.
During the discussion before the regression me and my regressionist decided to search for a past life which has relation to my health today. She told me my brain will try to interfere in the process and I should not allow it to do that. So here is the trialogue between the regressionist(R), my subcontious mind (SM)and my brain (B). Hope you enjoy

R - What do you see? Look around.
SM - Light. It's a sunny day. I see hills in the distance. And trees.
    B - U r imagining all that and u know it
R - Look at your feet. What r u wearing?
SM - Sandals. The roman sandals that goes almost under the knees.
B - Couldn't you imagine something that is less cliche?
    R - R u male or female
SM - I don't know (but I knew I was a male i just felt strange to admit it)
B - U know very well this r male feet u dumb. U've seen a lot of movies with roman soldiers wearing this sandals. That's why u imagine them.
    R - What r u doing there.
SM - I am going towards my legion. I must join them. They r near.
    B - Bla bla bla, sure u r
    R - How old u r?
    SM - 18
    B - And u r crazy admit it.
R - How do you feel in this body?
SM - Very good. (I was an animal. Very good body. Very well built)
B - So this is how a macho man feels in his body hihihihi
R - Which year is it?
    SM - 811
B - How did you know that?
    R - Where r u?
    SM - Somewhere near Greece.
    B - Greece my ass.
R - Where r u from? Did you have family where u came from. Describe to me the place where u came from. Describe your mother and father. Do you have brothers and sisters?
SM - Rome. Its busy. A lot of people. (I saw myself living in the very center of Rome in a palace. I was looking at the crowd from some balcony). No mother, I see my fathers face. He is speaking a lot (Actually I knew I was a bastard of my father, and he was some high politician or something. He took me under his wing because I am a male, but I was not aware who was my mother or what happened to her and I didn't speak out this info. Somehow I felt ashamed.) I have a small sister (half sister from his official wife).
B - You can see all that bcoz you went to Rome last year.
R - When and why did u join your legion?
SM - 1 year ago. I wanted to hang around and see new places.
B - Some things never change
R - Go to the moment in this life, which is related to your health in your current life.
SM - I am back where I started. The hills and the trees.
R - Why is that moment so important?
SM - OMG. They r going to kill us all. OMG (at that moment I felt the situation so deeply and my brain totally switched off and I started criyng)
R - Who is going to kill you?
SM - I was hanging around that river while my legion had rest in the camp. And I saw them. They r coming from all the sides. They've planned to surround us. They r so many. We have no chance whatsoever. We r all gonna die. If I could at least go back to my legion and die together with them and warn them. OMG (I felt such a strong fear from the realization that I'm done. My stomach was shrinking, but at the same time I realized the fear I started releasing it and a strong healing process started at my stomach area).
    R - What happened?
SM - I don't know. It happened so fast.(they killed me from behind and I died very quickly, so quick that I could hardly realize what happened)
    R - Did you die?
    SM - Yes.
    R - What do u see?
    SM - Light
R - Are there any other souls?
    SM - We are many.
R - What is the massage from the other site? Why did they show you this life?
SOMEBODY ELSE (when I heard my self from the recording say this I was literally shocked) - STEP ON YOUR OWN FEET!! YOU WERE LED BEFORE AND IT FELT COMFORTABLE. THAT'S IN THE PAST. NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR YOU TO BE LED ANYWHERE BY ANYONE. STEP ON YOUR OWN FEET!!!

Well, now my guess is the problem with my stomach in my current life, happened because I was attacked 3 times from behind. I guess somehow my subcontious mind made the relation between my stomach being shrunk from fear and me being killed from behind.

So the regression proved to be very helpful for me. The truth hearts yes. But the truth can set you free also.

I remember tons of past lives. I got mine through the application of Dianetics and Scientology.

Bill Ryan has some great downloads as well as some interesting discussion concerning Dianetics and Scientology, on the, " Q and A about Ron Hubbard, Bill Robertson, Scientology, the Free Zone, Ron's Org, Planet Earth. Jim, and the Future" thread.

Yes, my experience is the same.

It's a little like oiling rusty hinges on a door that's very reluctant to open. After quite a bit of oil, and working quite hard to get the door moving, it gets easier and easier and easier until after a while it just swings open on its own almost without any effort at all.

What I find happens now is that past life recalls occur spontaneously, prompted by only tiny triggers in life. I periodically have fairly significant 'downloads' which happen well outside of any structured session. I'm quite sure novus has had similar experiences.
This has started happening to me. Very interesting how similar your experience is to mine and others.
