Default SCREAM !!....Your first 5 minutes at Marine Corps Recruit Depot - San Diego

This thread is not to criticize the boys & girls in the armed forces. Many of whom
have been killed, wounded or mentally scared for life. There is professionalism,
bravery and training is essential. I've been watching some fun vids on U'tube
    heres a few.

Didn't watch much of the videos. No room for koolade and cookies in the Marines. If you can't handle the first first five minutes you may as well go home. They're in preperation to face an enemy that's going to kill their butts.

I give many thanks that I did not go into combat.

Boot camp at Parris Island, South Carolina, was a shock for a 17 year old fresh out of high school in 1960, a real melting pot of kids from all walks of life. Learning how to be invisible to the drill instructors attention during boot camp was very valuable.

I wonder how much things have changed.

By 1960, after the recruit drownings, new training rules were established. It is amazing that I still remember the names of the Platoon 162 drill instructors, SSgt Schrader, SSgt Roberts and Sgt Barr. They asked us if we wanted to be trained by the book, or be trained as Marines. Of course we knew the answer they wanted. It was unanimous. Lot's of memories.

In 1960, boot camp lasted 3 months. After graduation, all Marines are trained for 1 month to be "ground pounders" first before receiving specialized training. Every Marine is primarily a rifleman.

This country was much different in July of 1960 compared to now. I certainly would not advise anyone to join the military now. It is apparent that the military has become the enforcement arm of corrupt government/banksters.

Hopefully there will be some who see through the BS programming and refuse to destroy what remains of the Constitution and Bill Of Rights.

If that happens, Marines will be the first military service to cut through the political/psychological and act.

ALL 'militarism' is a form of insanity imbued with false promises and unrealistic expectations, with a side of 'exceptionalisim', ego, and allegiances to lies regarding one’s nationality and need to work for the ‘greater good’.

NOTHING 'good' Ever came from a military mindset - it is a Severe form of limitation.
