I've been taking borax for about 3 weeks now. I must say i feel better in a very general sense. It's hard to pinpoint exactly how but I feel more my old self (pre MS). In terms of specifics...only clear difference is i no longer have sensitivity in my teeth. I have recently started taking iodine again too, as well as magnesium. I'm thinking of making sole again too, for the extra minerals.

I'm posting a video link that has some good info. He waffles a bit...but it is worth it.

I appreciate reading the updates posted by those who are using boron/borax. This is something I'm going to look into. I'm in my late 40s and already dealing with bone loss (my mother was diagnosed with advanced osteoporosis in her early 60s). It's frightening - and painful - and is impacting my ability to functon doing day-to-day things. Thyroid problems have been an issue for years. If something as simple as this kind of supplement would help, I am certainly willing to try it!

FYI (a bit off-topic), for those dealing with bone density/bone loss issues, this website is a wonderful source of information.

As it has been declared a poison by the everso-trustworthy folks from the Government, so I expect to be utterly dead within three weeks, or completely free from arthritis.
Well time flies... and I am not dead.

I cant say I have noticed much improvement background pain wise, but the swelling has reduced around the middle knuckles of my left hand fingers and also I can almost make a fist again without screaming like a girl. It is pretty hard to tell if this is going to fix me, probably too early to tell.

Anyway as things are going in the right direction I am going to keep going now for another three months and then report back.
Turns out I didn't need to wait three months to see results. Last 4 weeks I double dosed. Middle finger on left hand is pretty much fixed. Can make a fist with both hands again - if I warm up its even comfortable to do it, which is a massive improvement - oh and I can strike with them effectively. Didn't hit anyone to test this!

I intend to keep double dosing till end Nov, then will continue with single dose for as long as I breathe.

I am aware this is not science or proof, and there are alternative possibilities to explain the improvements. Sorry about that, nothing I can do. Not dead though, so there is that...

Greybeard, if you read all the material on this topic carefully, you might discover that boron capsules are less effective than the Borax cleaning agent. I can't remember where exactly I read that, but I have been ingesting the cleaning agent for about 10 years and am still arthritis-free.

Ok guys... I have a great testimonial for you regarding boron. I have an older dog that was becoming lame with arthritis, he could hardly walk. After several months of dosing with boron twice daily he is no longer showing signs of disability. It's actually pretty miraculous. There is still swelling in the joints but it has greatly diminished.

My only concern about mega dosing a specific mineral (or vitamins for that matter) is imbalance. After researching I came up with this magnificent product: Source, which I give with the boron. All the ingredients are from the sea and it provides whole food micro nutrients. I buy the equine quantity because it is way more economical. I got it for the dogs but I have been taking it and can't say enough about it. You can buy Source in capsules for humans but it's very pricey and it's the same thing.I add it to a smoothy every day for myself and mix it in the dogs food. The container will last for a long, long time. A pleasant side effect is that my skin has never been better and my nails are becoming stronger. This is the product on Amazon but you can buy it elsewhere.

For those that are concerned about bone density and health the following is a most amazing product. It is a very holistic and thorough approach to bone regeneration but it is pricey.

If that's accurate, you may possibly not be taking enough, at all... my single self-filled 00 one-a-day capsule contains about 700mg.

Has anyone on the forum used borax or boron supplementation in an effort to regulate hormone levels (thyroid - FT3/FT4, insulin, etc)? I have only found one abstract relating to the topic.

Nenuphar, I don't have any personal experience with it but Boron is needed for maximum thyroid function and depending on where you live you may be very depleted of this micro-nutrient. Soil has been vastly depleted of Boron with factory farming and some areas naturally lack it so even if you are eating foods that tradionally provide it you may not be getting enough.I would only see a benefit from adding it to your diet, particularly if you are having thyroid issues.
Here's an article that is a nice overview regarding the topic.-

I have absolutely no idea! But I'm grateful for the thread bump.

I've been taking borax daily now (about 700 mg per self-filled capsule) for several months. It all started when I reported on this separate thread back in July, 5 months ago, that I'd suddenly experienced a few alarmingly sharp knee pains that had appeared right out of the blue.
Many of you know I'm an avid high mountain hiker, so that was a potentially worrying problem. I did several things straight away (including increasing daily doses of MSM, and excluding inflammatory foods from my diet), but starting on borax was central. I can't be 100% certain that it was the borax that did the trick (because of the other variables), but I'd definitely like to report I've not had a single problem since.

Bill, same here. I'm still taking it and all the things that gave me the idea to do it have improved. No side effects that I can tell.

My dose: 6g dissolved in 1litre distilled water, from that taking 10ml per day. It tastes like sauteed rubber, but some clear water afterwards removes the aftertaste.

I am personally experiencing a sort of stimulating effect from the Boron. I might just try microdosing it multiple times a day. I have seen what it can do and believe it is hugely beneficial to prevent bone related issues. The really cool thing is that we do not have to accept arthritis and osteoporosis as inevitabilities. Not in ourselves or our animal companions. This is such a cheap, simple way to maintain quality of life.

If any of you have dogs, I highly recommend you give them a pinch in their food.

Personally, all I can say is that I've been taking about 700 mg Borax per day (one self-filled 00 capsule) for the last 6-7 months or so.

I started that because of some minor but potentially worrying sharp knee pains when hiking (see this thread) — and since then they've not recurred at all. (But I also started taking turmeric regularly as well, and cutting out wheat and other inflammatory foods. So it's not really a rigorous experiment!)
