Default Real life McGyver tips on Lifehacker

I came across these real life McGyver tips on Lifehacker.com and thought they might come in handy. They also might help to get some into the mindset of coming up with alternative uses/emergency fixes:

    http://lifehacker.com/tag/macgyver-tips

Some favorites: Using a crayon as an emergency candle, DIY HD antenna, Add emergency contact info to your Phone's Lock Screen, How to open a can with a spoon...

I never fail to something useful when I visit Lifehacker, and on my own, refuse to throw in the towel without first attempting creative solutions (which, to my kids' amazement, often work!).

(If others have favorite sources for emergency fixes, workarounds and DIY solutions, please share!)
