How much was the Holocaust a money grab and getting rid of unwanted people...like say...people who didn't want to go to Israel for instance? Why was "The Ideal German Soldier" half Jewish and nobody cared. Why was Hitler friends with some Jews and not others. Why were there Jewish soldiers in the German army and nobody cared?

People should never just lump people into groups like "Jews"....there's different kinds of Jews.

Am I the only one who is concerned about the sources of information being quoted on this thread?

Anyone who undertakes research knows the importance of evaluating your sources, particularly when it comes to web resources.
Does the material show bias? What is the author's background? Is the style scholarly, with sources clearly cited? Is the language inflammatory or sensationalised? etc etc

That is not to say that a serious researcher would not refer to these resources - but they would be aware of such factors as they indicate bias.

I've already voiced my concerns about codoh and biblebelievers: IHR causes even more alarm bells to ring.

He was a scholar and Hebrew manuscript expert, and was working in oxford when war was declared. Rather than remaining safe in England, he chose to return to Slovakia to help rescue the Jews of Slovakia and other Jews of Europe.

In 1944, Weissmandl and his family were put on a train headed for Auschwitz. Rabbi Weissmandl escaped from the sealed train by sawing open the lock of the carriage with an emery wire he had secreted in a loaf of bread. He jumped from the moving train, breaking his leg in the process, and hid in a secret bunker in suburban Bratislava, from where he was taken by Rudolf Kasztner and his Nazi associate Kurt Becher to Switzerland.

"IG Farben's Auschwitz plant was a massive industrial complex. The largest outside of Germany, it consumed as much electricity as the entire city of Berlin. Built and run by slave labour, it is thought - at a conservative estimate - to have cost at least 35,000 lives. In 1941, Otto Armbrust, the IG Farben board member responsible for IG Farben's Auschwitz project, told his colleagues, "our new friendship with the SS is a blessing. We have determined all measures integrating the concentration camps to benefit our company." But not only did thousands of slave labourersdie from the conditions in which they worked for IG Farben, those camp inmates who were viewed astoo sick or weak to continue to labour in the IG Auschwitz plant were selectedfor the gas chambers. IG Farben paid 100,000 reichsmarks each year to the SS and in return was assured a continuous supply of fresh slave labour, while being "relieved" of unfit inmates.

Elie Wiesel, the writer, Nobel Laureate and Holocaust survivor, came to Auschwitz in 1944 and was sent with his father to IG Farben's Buna work camp. That same year, the Holocaust survivor and author Primo Levi was among 125 men selected at the railhead for labour at IG's Buna-Werke. One of only 3 survivors from this group, Levi later wrote about his experiences in searing detail: "A fortnight after my arrival there I already had the prescribed hunger, that chronic hunger unknown to free men... On the back of my feet I already have those numb sores that will not heal. I push wagons, I work with a shovel, I turn rotten in the rain, I shiver in the wind, already my own body is no longer mine: my belly is swollen, my limbs emaciated." In Night, Elie Wiesel's acclaimed memoir of his personal experiences of the Holocaust, he describes how veterans of IG's Buna-Werke told those who had arrived there late in the war that the brutal treatment they were experiencing was as nothing to what had previously been endured by the IG work force: "No water, no blankets, less soup and bread. At night we slept almost naked and the temperature was 30 below. We were collecting corpses by the hundreds every day... Work was very hard... [The gangmasters] had orders to kill a certain number of prisoners every day; and every week selection [for the gas chambers] - a merciless selection."

When it came to "selection", it was an IG Farben subsidiary, with IG Farben managers on its Management Committee, that manufactured and supplied Zyklon B to the SS. This poisonous cyanide-based pesticide, on which IG Farben held the patent, was used during the Holocaust to annihilate more than a million people at both the Auschwitz-Birkenau and Majdanek extermination camps. The form of Zyklon B used in the gas chambers was deliberately made without the normal warning odorant. IG Farben also supplied the SS with the Methanol used to burn the corpses.

In 1946 the Nuremberg War Crimes Tribunal concluded that without IG Farben the Second World War would simply not have been possible. The Chief Prosecutor, Telford Taylor, warned: "These companies, not the lunatic Nazi fanatics, are the main war criminals. If the guilt of these criminals is not brought to daylight and if they are not punished, they will pose a much greater threat to the future peace of the world than Hitler if he were still alive." Their indictment stated that due to the activities of IG Farben "the life and happiness of all peoples in the world were adversely affected."Chargesas graveas fomenting war and killing slave labourers were alsoadded. In his opening statement the Nuremberg Chief Prosecutor pointed out that, "The indictment accuses these men of major responsibility for visiting upon mankind the most searing and catastrophic war inhuman history. It accuses them of wholesale enslavement, plunder and murder."

According to the Nuremberg prosecutors, "We have seen Farben integrating itself with the Nazi tyranny, turning its technical genius to the furnishing of... commodities vital to the reconstruction of the German war machine, and emerging in Hermann Goering's entourage at the highest level of economic planning and mobilization for war. We have seen Farben poised for the kill, and subsequently swollen by economic conquest in the helpless occupied countries. Faced with a shortage of workers, we have seen Farben turn to Goering and Himmler, and persuading these worthies to marshal the legions of concentration-camp inmates as tools of the Farben war machine. We have seen these wretched workers dying by the thousands, some on the Farben construction site, many more in the Auschwitz gas chambers after Farben had drained the vitality from their miserable bodies... Literally millions of people were put to death in the very backyard of one of Farben's pet projects - a project in which Farben invested 600 million reichsmarks of its own money."

Although the Nuremberg Tribunal indicted 24 IG Farben board members and executives on the basis of crimes against humanity, only 13 received prison sentences. And the sentences they received were described by the Nuremberg Chief Prosecutoras "light enough to pleasea chicken thief". Bythe early 1950sa number of those convicted of slavery, looting and mass murder were backat the helm ofthe very companies - Bayer, Hoechstand BASF, formed out of the assets of IG Farben in 1952.The owners of these "new" companies were alsothe shareholders of IG Farben. Thus, although the gravity of the crimes committed by IG Farben meant the company was considered too corrupt to be allowed to continue to exist, it was supplanted by its key constituents - companies like Bayer which were owned, and directed at the highest level, by the very same people as IG Farben. Those who had helped Hitler to power and provided the technical know-how for his wars of aggression and the Holocaust, were back in control of the industry.

The Bayer executive Fritz ter Meer typifies the bounce back. An executive of IG for many years, the most senior scientist on its supervisory board and the chairman of its technical committee, he had become a Nazi Party member in 1937 and was the executive responsible for the construction of the IG Farben factory in Auschwitz, in which tens of thousands of slave labourers met their deaths. Ter Meer'sown visits to Auschwitz and the detailed reports he received made it inconceivable that he did not have a clear picture of what was occurring. The Nuremberg War Crimes Tribunal found him guilty ofplunder, slavery and mass murder. As a result, Ter Meer received the longest sentence of any of the IG Farben board members.But despitebeing found the most culpable of the men who, in the words of Chief Prosecutor, "made war possible... the magicians who made the fantasies of Mein Kampf come true", ter Meer was already outof prisonby 1952. By 1956 he had become the chairman of the supervisory board of Bayer, a post he held until 1964. Even today Bayer continues to honour this convicted mass murderer. On All Saints Day 2006, for instance, the corporation is known to have laid a wreath on ter Meer's grave in Krefeld-Uerdingen, Germany. Yet for decades Bayer refused to pay compensation to its surviving slave labourers. Only after international protests did it eventually agree to pay damages - more than 50 years after the end of the war."

No. The Rockefeller Archives show that he built a private army in Russia, much like the Brown Shirt army later. His accountant said that for each 2 cents that he spent to build that Army he got a dollar back. That Army was not staying up late to knit socks to sell. They were beating people up and committing assassinations, massacres, and mayhem to terrorize the populace into submission. And he was bribing officials to get what he wanted. But an examination of the chain of command structure and the flow of money made it look like the Rockefellers et al were already well on their way to being Kings of the World.

Let me give you an example of that so you can understand how this system worked in practice.

John D. Rockefeller, Jr., wanted to crash prices in South America of a type of goods to force his competitors into closing. If I remember correctly, the country was Argentina and the goods were stainless steel cookware--pots and pans, bowls, and cutlery. They were items peasants had to buy to live. They were also heavy and it made absolutely no sense to ship them from Russia since they were already made in adequate quantities by factories in that country. But they were not Rockefeller’s factories so a part of the markets’ share of money was not going to them. That was an anathema to John. D., Jr. He wanted to own everything and everyone, or kill them.

So, he wrote a letter to Stalin and told him how much and what kind of each item he wanted. It was a huge order, perhaps several Latin American countries worth. Rockefeller was going to dropped the prices of the goods to drive the Latin American factories out of business. Then he would buy them cheaply. Having a monopoly he would then raise the price of the goods to steal even more from the peasants. His journal shows that he intended to cause their children to starve, if at all possible. It was not an unintended consequence of his business practices. I saw instances in which he was willing to lose money to make others starve. It was really quite sad to read about the life of a man who was so desperately unhappy that this was what it took to distract him from that fact.

Stalin got the order and wrote back saying that he could not meet those deadlines in 2 months time. Rockefeller wrote back saying he had to ‘or else’.

I wanted to know what the “or else” was.

Later I came across invoices for the guards of Stalin which Rockefeller was paying. They were not just regulars, they were a special outfit chosen by Rockefeller. They were not ethnically the same as Stalin. It appeared that they had been chosen by Rockefeller to have no qualms about killing Stalin, if ordered to do so. The head of them was writing reports on Stalin’s activities to John D. more often than Stalin was writing to John D. After looking into it even further than I have said, I concluded that John D.’s threat to kill Stalin was a credible one.

Stalin was humiliated in more ways that one by trying to fill that order in time. He did not succeed, as hard and as desperately as he tried. He was a week late. Furthermore, this was during the height of the German attack on Russia, about a month before the battle of Stalingrad when the order was completed. It meant that steel and railway transport that would have gone into making of rifles did not. Russian soldiers went into the battle of Stalingrad, Stalin’s namesake, with only about 35% of them carrying a rifle! They had to rush forward into battle defenselessly or be shot in the back. Only after one of their buddies got killed could they pick up a fallen weapon to defend themselves. That caused a huge rift among them which they could not solve. It was designed to destroy their team spirit and turned them against each other.

The Battle of Stalingard was almost a defeat for the Russia people because of what John D. did. His journal showed that he intended for the battle to be a Russian defeat and allow him to spread the war all across Russia. He agonized on the pages of his journal about whether his timing was right and the order big enough. He wanted the fighting to continue all across Russia and not just lead to a Russian capitulation. He wanted to destroy all the shop keepers and small enterprises that had not yet been nationalized and brought under his control. His journal said that he cried at his loses when the Russians bravely managed to force the Germans to retreat. But he did not call them brave in his journal and I will not repeat the derogatory phrases. Skull and Bones calls people not in it Barbarians, will they help the Rockefellers plan and execute mass murders, such as at Auschwitz and other Nazi death camps. It is clear that they have some problems in their thinking.

The revised Auschwitz Labor concept of “Work N Starve” in Guatemala and Beyond

In the 1950’s, the CIA began overthrowing democratically elected leaders, setting up dictator puppet governments, and making a ghetto of the Third World. Their methodology was the same as the Skull and Bones and the Brown Shirts; undermining of international and national laws, intimidation, blackmail, torture, sexual exploitation, propaganda, racial profiling, and unquestioning obedience to authority. They used taxpayer’s money to economically enslave the world for their own private profit. The CIA was a direct continuation of their drugs, slaves, and weapons running operations from WWII and before.

One of the first things they did in the early 1950’s was to take thousands of daughters of loyal American officers that had beaten the Nazis and enslaved them as a kind of retribution in Operation MKULTRA.

When Allan Dulles headed the CIA, he covered-up Rockefeller’s illegal business operations. He also ran black-ops and overthrew the democratically elected leader of Guatemala, Arbenz, to help Rockefeller’s United Fruit Company in which he also owned shares. President Arbenz wanted to buy United Fruit’s unused land at market value to give it to the poor so that they could grow their own food (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arbenz).
United Fruit refused to sell. Children starved to death when their parents worked for United Fruit because the wages were so low. The Rockefellers wanted depopulation. Arbenz’s policies would have allowed the peasants to get out of having to work for United Fruit. Dulles’s overthrow of Arbenz meant decades of enslaved labor and starvation of children for the Guatemalan people. It also meant decades of massacres, torture, and over 100,000 deaths by CIA trained death squads to repress those who rebelled.

The coup even had the same CIA villain E. Howard Hunt, who lead this CIA campaign, appointed by Vice President Nixon. He was later in the WaterGate burglary of the Democractic Convention which ended in the resignation of Nixon. E. Howard Hunt figures prominently in the book Plausible Denial: Was the CIA involved in the JFK assassination? as a suspect for the assassination. It was in their selfish interests to starve the peasants and to make them willing to work for next to nothing, as serfs dependent on them for their food. The CIA overthrew Arbenz to put their own puppet in power. That continued the severe poverty and starvation of children in Guatemala. The Guatemalan government carried out systematic massacres over decades against its indigenous peoples while the US government funded that with military aid and I know of instances in which US Generals were present at the massacres of whole villages down to every man, women, and child, in order to try to ensure a thorough job was done of it. Clearly, had that killing of the indigenous people been against what the CIA/Cabal wanted done, they would just have gone back in and changed the government again. But the Guatamalan government doing those massacres was in the CIA/Cabal’s good graces—they were doing what the Cabal wanted and the funding and military aid to do it kept flowing like a broad river towards it.

Regarding how the Rockefeller-engineered coup in Guatamala was intended, Howard Hunt says:

“What we wanted to do was have a terror campaign...to terrify Arbenz particularly, and his troops, much as the German Stuppabombers [Stukas] terrified the population of Holland, Belgium, and Poland at the onset of WWII and just rendered everybody paralyzed.” [Reminds me of “Shock and Awe” in Iraq].

It was as if the CIA had been created at the end of WWII precisely to allow those Americans who funded/profited from Nazi violation of human rights to continue their reign of death, terror, and enslavement. President Truman later said, “Had I known the CIA would become the American Gestapo, I never would have signed it into existence!” Not only did the CIA help many Nazi war criminals escape prosecution, it continued committing war crimes unabated!

Those at the top ordering the war crimes were desperate to keep the workers of countries from uniting to get them from stealing their labor, their resources and their lives. To do that they keep up the perception of an external threat. Those in the West were told that the Russians and the Cubans were coming and that Communism was the threat. But at the same time the Rockefellers were instructing their people inside the Russian govt. and the KGB that the Americans and the British were the threat. By playing on the fears of each side they kept the workers from uniting to form true democracies and have the right to organize for fair wages. Europe was able to largely seek a middle ground of socialism, and some measure of rights and the rule of law. That is better than failing completely prey to the Robber Barons. But much needs to be done still to prevent the corporations from destroying the environment.


While the above was happening in Russia, once the Tsar had been gotten out of the way, the same thing occurred in Germany once Bismarck was also gotten out of the way:


The Rockefeller Archives showed that Rockefeller was a major funder of the Brown Shirt and Black Shirt Armies. Per those records, the Rockefeller Family contributed about 40% of the funding of those private armies in the year of about 1929. I only looked at the data for one year because that was the only year that I found a document which gave the total costs of those private armies.

The Rockefeller Family wanted slave labor to pay dividends on his funding of those private Nazi Armies. Since they had a third of a million men in them, that was a lot of expense. They went to that expense in order to take over Germany from the Christian Democratic Movement and throw the world into war. This is an intriguing, troubling book.
I was puzzled, intrigued, and astonished by it's contents.
I was puzzled because I couldn't really work out the motivation for the author to write the book in the first place.
I think it is important to point out that Edwin Black is no 'friend of Palestinians', he is a 'hard-core' zionist.
Straight and simple.
Early on in the book he describes the Palestinians as the inhabitants of a 'sandy swampy wasteland' and makes it very clear that in emigrating to the land of historic Palestine, in his opinion, the Jews 'civilised and cultivated' what was essentially a barren land, a sparsely populated land peopled with pockets of rather primitive nomads.
In his view the arrival of the Jewish settlers saved a rural backwater from self imposed oblivion.
The reality of course is that the Palestinian people enjoyed a vibrant culture and the land of Palestine was peopled by a patchwork of Palestinian cities, towns and villages not unlike the English countryside is today, and it was a culture who's roots stretched back thousands of years to the land of the Caananites.
Jewish people formed an integrated (tiny) minority (in numerical terms) in Palestine around 1900, unfortunately the coming zionist invasion was to 'turn the place upside down' over the coming decades.
Black's view is reminiscent of the (totally discredited) Joan Peters book 'From Time Immemorial' in his portrayal of Palestine as being a 'land without people' destined to fulfil the hopes and dreams of 'a people without land'.
I realise that by saying this I am perhaps in danger of discrediting the rest of the book, however the main theme of the book is 'checkable' and the information it refers to, is closely cross-referenced and irrefutable.
The point I am making is that, since Edwin Black is clearly such a zealous zionist, I find it hard to understand why he wrote it !!?
Perhaps the answer to my question lays somewhere in the fact that Black conveys the typical 'assumption of superiority' articulated by Gilad Atzmon in his book, 'The Wandering Who ?'
No-one who isn't Jewish really seems to count for very much in Edwin Black's view of the world.
Perhaps he feels that we are all just a bit too dumb to appreciate the enormous implications of what he has uncovered.
I am astonished at the information he gives about the true nature of thinking of the zionist movement (with regard to their own Jewish people).
I am even more astonished at the little stir this has caused in literary (and historical) circles since it was written in the 1980's ?
As early as the 10th International Zionist Congress meeting at Basle in Switzerland in 1911, Herzl's deputy Max Nordau apparently predicted that growing political forces in Europe 'could' result in the deaths of millions of Jews and went on to advise that, should the movement be faced with such a situation they should grasp the nettle, accept it and use the event as a way of securing pressure to secure their state.
What one needs to understand is how, in the early days of the zionist movement, the very real difference between 'Jews' and 'zionist Jews' was marked.
Many ordinary Jews had little or no interest in zionism, simultaneously zionist Jews increasingly saw the great mass of the Jewish population as merely 'pawns in their game' of securing a Jewish state in Palestine.
Very often expressing open contempt for the great mass of the Jewish people.
If it were deemed necessary that large numbers of ordinary Jews should be sacrificed as part of the process of securing their 'Jewish state' then so be it.
The bulk of the Jewish population were seen as 'expendable statistics', the object of the exercise was to secure the Jewish state and to do whatever it took to achieve this.
So right from before Hitler came to power, the international zionist movement either knowingly or sometimes inadvertently, helped engineer the direction that things would take over the coming years in terms of the fate of their fellow Jews in Europe.
This is a far cry from the narrative we have been routinely fed since the Second World War that the Jews in Europe were simply helpless victims of planned nazi tyranny.
I firmly believe that this is the real reason why there is a form of 'prohibition' on examining the details of the 'Holocaust story'.
Zionism (a Jewish movement) actually had a large hand in the suffering of the Jewish people during the nazi era in Europe.
I believe that this is precisely why this whole area needs to be opened up to enquiry, just like any other historical event.
I read this book in conjunction with The Joel Brand Story', and ' The Unheeded Cry' by Abraham Fuchs (The latter is the story of Rabbi Weissmandl's attempts to rescue some 1000000 plus Jews from the nazi regime in Eastern Europe)
Both accused the International Zionist Movement of not cooperating with their rescue attempts and thereby abandoning their own people to their fate.
When I visited Budapest earlier this year, I took the tour of the Synagogue (I had never been in a synagogue before) and attempted to engage the guide (in a polite way) about the Joel Brand story.
She wasn't interested, in fact she didn't really want to talk about him, she kept changing the subject.
I don't think he deserves such treatment.
Fuchs ironically received 'the Nordau prize' for one of his works on the Holocaust.
I also have 'The Destruction of the European Jews' by Raoul Hilberg (though I haven't read all of it !) and Hilberg openly admits that 'no-one really knows' precisely how many Jewish people died during the Holocaust period.
He feels that it 'could' have been as many as 6 million, but it could have been a good deal less.
I think it would be a much healthier state of affairs if young people were taught some of all of this (especially young Jewish people) rather than the black and white 'Jews as perennial victims of non-Jews' narrative we have all been fed for so long (the essence of the 'Victim Culture' and 'identity politics' ?).
The Transfer Agreement is not an easy book but it, and some of these other publications, really ought to have had more impact.
Perhaps people prefer the 'caricature', perhaps they prefer to 'keep it simple' ?
Perhaps that is why they prefer to look away when the civilian population of Gaza is blitzed for the umpteenth time ?

On the Reliability of Historical Evidence

1. It is impossible for any historical source to be unbiased. If one assumes that any historical evidence which is biased cannot be considered, then no historical evidence is reliable, and you can't know history.

2. There are two kinds of history. The Germans nailed this one. There is Historie, which is more a kin to historical fact, and then there is geshikhte, which is more the emotional attachment to historical fact. An example: Pearl Harbor. The historie would be that Japanese planes bombed an American naval base at Pearl Harbor. The geshikhte for the Japanese airman would be great victory, pride in accomplishing what he would have considered a great success in the advancement of his country's goals (let's say), while the geshikhte for the family of a serviceman aboard a ship which sunk, thus the serviceman is killed, is different.

Examining the historie and the geshikhte of the Third Reich proves interesting, especially when taken in the context of the events happening in the world at that time. The more I dive into this subject, the more I seem to be able to accept how someone on the other side of this argument might see that blame was shoved into one camp of politicals, namely the Axis. However, if I step out of the situation completely, let's say, and think about how this entire episode in history would appear to say an observer from space, completely uninfluenced by any human bias, what I see is more interesting.

3. If you trim down the "octopus" of conspiracy that exists in this subject, it basically boils down to this: there is a battle that has existed for, as long as I can see, eternally between forces that are good and evil. When one steps out of the historie of the situation and looks at the geshikhte of it all, something sinister does start to take shape: namely there was an agenda behind this war. The Axis and the Allies were both struggling to reach a goal, as it were, that has to do with control.

One group however took it upon themselves to exterminate those individuals who they felt were contrary to the final outcome. Rightly or wrongly, Adolf Hitler felt that the Jewish people living in occupied countries and the Reich were a threat; they, and anyone else who politically or ethically disagreed with Reich policy were suppressed. Prominent officers within the Reich have testified to this. Hitler himself testifies to this in Mein Kampf, repeatedly giving Jews the power of corrupting the pure Arian standards that when purified would rise to their rightful place as rulers of the world.

So let's say you're German. Let's say you feel that certain forces outside Germany have placed excessive blame on the German people through vilifying Adolf Hitler and the Third Reich. This thought experiment is for you.

We are observing a man on a bridge, bellow him is a railway line with 30 workers on it. A runaway rail car is speeding towards the workers and it will kill them. The man can stop the rail car if he push a very large man who is standing on the bridge with him down bellow. He must choose between pushing the man down in front of the car to stop it, or allowing thirty workers on the rails to die.

Most people don't give a second thought, and say they will push the man down. And most people will agree that in the scheme of things, killing one person to save thirty has less of an evil moral attached to it.

What we all don't know, however, is that the person who has to make that choice started the rail car in motion.

Think about that.

Am I the only one who is concerned about the sources of information being quoted on this thread?

Anyone who undertakes research knows the importance of evaluating your sources, particularly when it comes to web resources.
Does the material show bias? What is the author's background? Is the style scholarly, with sources clearly cited? Is the language inflammatory or sensationalised? etc etc

That is not to say that a serious researcher would not refer to these resources - but they would be aware of such factors as they indicate bias.

I've already voiced my concerns about codoh and biblebelievers: IHR causes even more alarm bells to ring.

No, you are not the only one. I would say you value the sources more than most.

Most of the subjects (not all) researched on this forum are not peer reviewed and debated by polite society. These story's are never told on ABC, CNN, or any " approved media ". The approved sources on 9-11, are the 9=11 commission report. The approved sources on the Kennedy assassination is the Warren commission report. The government did not admit Area 51 existed at all until a short time ago.You get the idea. Most of the ideas put forward here are outside of authorized or endorsed sources. It is harder to research this way. You have weigh everything and think for yourself. I want information that was not sanctioned,or blessed by others.

Why? You know what these sources are. If you are looking at Holocaust numbers, you should look at codoh. Their thesis requires them to examine the numbers thoroughly. You may not agree with all or any of the conclusions . They are asking some good questions ...not approved questions from a certain point of view, but good questions none the less.

With the internet.... news organizations, academia, and the intellectuals no longer hold the keys to information.

The value for me is more in the realm of ideas put forward and debated. While it is good to inform and understand where those ideas come from it is more important to see if those ideas have merit. It does no good to say this source is not approved by so and so then discount the information and move on. It makes me want to read it more. I then question those who would try and close down debate and discussion to see what their agenda really is.
