    Interesting ...

To follow up a little on my posts above, It is clear to me now that the underground market medicinal hemp oil in western Canada is pretty huge! It is easily available as a distinguished product from recreational oil, and everyone in the "hemp culture" seems to be very aware of it and how to get it. Likely due in part to the efforts of Rick Simpson.

I now see that we are on the verge of a hemp revolution -- at least medicinally, but that will cause people to become aware, research and understand the vastly huge benefits this plant can bring to all humanity, minus Big Pharma / Big oil / Big Chemical -- but I'm sure everyone agrees those areas need to be taken down about ten notches. So, great news on all fronts!

Keep spreading the info on research behind hemp -- medicinally and industrially -- we only have gain to be had.

When you are one step ahead of the crowd, you are a genius.
Two steps ahead, and you are deemed a crackpot.

I put organic hemp protein powder in my smoothies every morning. Have been for about a year. Full of fiber, protein and gluten free, too. The brand is called 'Fiberlife' . It is non GMO but if Monsanto got their hands on it they would try and change that just to get more money and control out of it I'm sure...lol.

Hemp is very useful. I'm not a user myself, but I have a great issue with any organic natural living entity that is made illegal. The Earth is wiser then we are. I do feel that hemp should be legalized and I am well aware of the medicinal properties that it holds. As an herbalist myself, I have a very difficult time with equating an enforced drug war with the many lives it costs to a natural growing living plant that has something to say.

As with anything, experience leads to knowledge. Temperance for those who partake is important, as well as being aware of entities that may take advantage of an altered state of mind. But in the long run, there are many beautiful qualities about hemp as a fibre, healer, builder, oxygenator, and awareness instigator to be ignored.

    From the Heart,
    Kristin

There is hemp that does not have any THC in it and then there is the hemp/marijuana medicinal plant. The two are different. The hemp powder that I use is just a food source and doesn't make you high. The hemp crops grown for oil, fiber and food sources are not used for medicinal marijuana

Here is an interesting experience I can share.

Many of you might be familiar with the disease called colitis and/or crohn's.

I have always suffered with this illness for aboout 40 years since I was was a teenager.

As a form of pain control for flareups my family doctor had historically given me codine in pill form.

Recently, he started to prescribe Nabilone, which is a synthetic for of that active ingredient THC in marijuana.
I was quite taken back that my family doctor could so easily pick up his prescription pad and write me a prescription so easily.
When I filled the prescription, and took the recommended dosage, I was pleasantly surprised that it definitely has the affects as perhaps experienced when smoking marijuana.
The only major difference I found was that it takes at least an hour after taking the pill for any affect effects of the pill to work on pain control.

It does reduce pain when it does kick in, and it appears to last for at least 6 - 10 hours from a dose.

The only downfall, I would find is that it takes so long to kick in. As many are aware, if you are experiencing a sudden surge of pain, an hour wait for the pain control to kick in, can be
    a bit hard to handle.

The reason, I am pointing this out, is that this may be an alternative for people wishing to use a more natural substance on their body compared to most pain medications such as codeine, Oxycontin, morphine, etc.
After all, you don't have to go through the normal paperwork for a medical marijuana certificate, if your doctor writes you a prescription for this.
Apparently, this has been available like this since 1984, but until my doctor gave me this choice, I was unaware of it.

    Just some food for thought

I read that Cannabis was made illegal the day after the prohibition was lifted, although I have never verified that. If true it is the most blatant evidence of organized crime at work.

There is a basic economic principle that some things have an inelastic demand. It can be for various reasons, for example it is so popular, or addictive, or novel, or rare, etc. Another is that is comprises such a small percentage of most people's income (think coffee, donuts, gum, salt, etc) that huge percentage increases in price have little effect on demand. This creates interesting situations in a purely for profit marketplace. It explains why all those things are so relatively expensive for one. In the case of something like alcohol or marijuana, both inelastic demand products, when taken out of public circulation "by definition" create BLACK MARKETS because the "demand" never ceases, it simply continues in another channel of distribution. i.e. it goes 'underground'.

The people back then understood this simple economic principle, just as the people do today.

It was a premeditated criminal act to make it illegal for the sole purpose of depriving the public, enriching the criminal syndicates and government coffers from all the "crimes" that could be executed as a result. (All crimes are commercial)

When the people wake up this will be common knowledge. Something tells me I am going to have to say this a few thousand more times before it becomes a public meme... (lol)

Do you want to reduce the overbearing power of the police and government, and reduce the money THEY make from organized crime? Stop making inelastic demand products "illegal". Reduce crime, reduce the power of the Pharmas, reduce the government power and enrich the lives of millions of people. Increase the productivity of the land. Improve the ecology of soil and air. Create jobs and save trees by producing one of the most versatile building materials on the planet.

Demand legalization of cannabis, hemp, marijuana, etc.

Power to the people. Government is my servant.

Default Hemp House, Genuine Sustainable Living

Asheville, North Carolina hemp house featured in documentary, Bringing It Home, about the battle for industrial hemp, the history of hemp, and how it could drastically cut the energy and money spent heating and cooling homes. Currently, it’s illegal to grow industrial hemp, marijuana’s close cousin, in the U.S.–despite the fact that it’s a non-psychoactive homebuilding material that’s saved one Asheville homeowner 75% on heating and cooling costs. In the 70's we lwarned the trees are the earth's lungs and absorb the carbon dioxide. We learned the shellfish, and clams and oysters filter the waters of the oceans and rivers and streams, even the little tiny ones. I saw some off the coast of Jamaica and I'll tell you if they were in America, they would be enormous with all the filty water around here.

I actually work for a government organisation that cuts down trees, but I do threatened species surveys that result in less trees being cut down, so I am happy in my work. I am mulling over (haha) a proposal for them about farming hemp for pulp production, rather than using native forest. There was recently a call from senior management for innovation - let's see how innovative they want to get

I'll bet that Big Pharma is seething about videos like this one, proving that people KNOW that this wonderful herb called Canabis has many uses as well as many cures.

It was my understanding then industrial HEMP and Cannabis is not the same thing. I might be wrong but it would not have the same amount of THC.

Yes.....In botanical terms, cannabis is the name given to a plant that has cannabinoids. Both hemp and marijuana as we know, are the family of cannabis. There are two main types of cannabinoids found in these plants, they are THC - psychoactive compound - and CBD - psychoactive compound anti-(anti-THC).

What we know as marijuana, has high levels of THC and / or CBD, as hemp has low levels of THC and CBD.

As far as I know its pretty much the same plant but one direction was bred for THC and the other for strength of fibres, resulting in reasonably substancial variations -- like how domestic garlic and wild garlic are similar but, the domestic is the result of gene isolation via selection, for larger bulbs and more/more pleasant, flavour/odour.

Industrial hemp these days contains almost no THC I think.
