This is a topic that only came to my attention a few months ago. It is one of the many "things" we need to fix...not just in the USA but in the whole world.
I did a search on the forum and only found one thread with incarceration in the title and that goes back to June 2012.

Since 1980 incarceration in the USA has risen 800% from 300,000 in federal prison to over 2 million in 2013...yikes...ands guess what the prisons are making big money off of this...
