"A Wrinkle In Time" was very influential book in my early life.
I just found an interview with Madeleine L'Engle in which she well describes real fantasy leading to truth as it opens us to awakening of possibility.

I found the Disney TV movie "A Wrinkle In Time (2004)". It is true to the book but not great.

I would like to recommend "Her". It is a new film. You can watch it for free all over the internet. It is a really thought provoking film about Artificial Intelligence, consciousness, the nature of attraction and love. All set in the near future. I highly recommend it. Really good acting, as well.

... has a good plot premise, but deserves a better production than that one.
I wish someone would make a good production of Sheri Tepper's novel, Gate to Women's Country, one of my all time favorite feminist sci-fi novels.
And someone should make a movie of Stranger From a Strange Land too. if they are willing to make a good one.

Having been betrayed, the Prince feels the desire to revenge himself against women. To cure her husband's murderous madness (and survive), Scheherezade tells him a series of wondrous stories. Scheherazade's phantasmagorical tales inspire creativity and resourcefulness as she helps her husband overcome his mistrust. This is a function of "true" fantasy IMO and the reason the 1001 Tales tell a universal story.
