US hungry for regime change, nuclear weapons are excuse to attack – Pilger

Investigative journalist and documentary filmmaker John Pilger tells RT America
that US is to blame for putting the world on the brink of nuclear war. The rest of
the world is mostly alarmed by the US, not North Korea. Sanctions will never work
in de-escalating the situation, he adds.

    a soft coup.

The United States just opened a military base in Israel:

Quote Associated Press | 19 Sep 2017 | by Yaniv Zohar

BISLACH AIR BASE, Israel — Israel and the U.S. inaugurated the first American military base on Israeli soil on Monday, which will serve dozens of soldiers operating a missile defense system.

The move comes at a time of growing Israeli concerns about archenemy Iran's development of long-range missiles. Together with the U.S., Israel has developed a multilayered system of defenses against everything from long-range guided missile attacks from Iran to crude rockets fired from Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.....(full article here)

Quote .....It is located not far from a US military radar installation east of Dimona..... (from a Times of Israel article here)
.....and we all know what's not at Dimona don't we, folks. Nothin' to see here. Move along.

    Meanwhile in Turkey

    This was Sur 2016:

This is Sur now (March 2017):

The destruction of towns and villages in the south-east of Turkey continues unabated. This is accompanied by the expulsion of the Kurdish Population.
A UN report criticizes the ongoing systematic destruction of settlements and cities with a predominantly Kurdish population since 2015. He accuses Turkey of massive human rights violations: torture, violence, murder and expulsion. Around 355,000 people were displaced in the southeast. Through expropriations and urban changes such as in Diyarbakir-Sur, the government forces an ethnic, social, cultural and demographic change in the region.
More than a third of the old town has already been demolished, the inhabitants are expelled. Satellite records show the extent of the destruction. A town inhabited for 4000 years with a specific culture goes under.
The old town with its narrow streets, the many historic buildings, churches, mosques, tombs, bathhouses and fountains and the colorful multicultural hustle and bustle was a tourist attraction. In 1988, the old town was placed under the protection of the city walls, including 595 buildings.
In 2012 the local government adopted a "Surici Conservation Plan", which was still supported by the Turkish government. She applied for the inclusion of the "fortress of Diyarbakir and the cultural landscape Hevsel Gardens" in the list of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. The joy was great among the population, but it did not last long.

There's a lot of rhetoric and posturing going on again particularly with Trump
in the UN , and the situation is fluid as usual with to much going on to post
everything. The Syria conflict may be slowing down but there is still plenty of flash

Kurds sacrificed enough for independence, Baghdad won’t stop the referendum
    - Iraqi Kurdistan PM

    Published on 18 Sep 2017
The war with ISIS in Iraq is drawing to a close, but the day after will be no easier.
With Iraqi Kurdistan going for an independence referendum, Baghdad may not be
eager to accept the vote. The already volatile situation in the Middle East might be
destabilized even further by the establishment of a Kurdish region – or, perhaps,
help stabilize it instead. Will the price of Kurdish independence be too high? We
ask Prime Minister of Iraqi Kurdistan Nechirvan Barzani.

Kurdistan like Israel , Catalonia and many other ancient states that have come
and gone over the centuries has now become a possibility , though the parent
countries particularly Turkey , Iran , Syria and Iraq have never been keen....

Tensions over Catalonia's upcoming independence referendum on Oct 1 are
reaching boiling point as Spain has declared the vote 'illegal.'

Historically Europe was made up of many smaller states that were affiliated to
one empire or nation over the centuries. Obviously in all these disputes locals
see it differently than the governing powers usually.
