I too have observed what look like tracks through the dust layer, about 4 yrs ago.

It was like something vacuumed a trail through the layer of dust about the width of a contrail.

They were very sharply defined which is what grabbed my attention.

There were several of them at the time, all generally going in the same direction, but not parallel.

Needless to say my companion could not see them, which made me doubt myself.

Question. Are weather balloons still being used in this day and age ?

I to have seen the black lines. it looks like some type of radar pushing the clouds away at the nose of the plane and leaves a black line. I would not want to be in front of the plane when this thing is on cook you like a hotdog.
