Nope, I'm pretty far away from this kind of activities so far.I wish I could say I saw this one coming. I thought there'd be some quakes farther away. I guess this area is just not stopped yet and its traveling up the fault lines.

They were saying on CNN I think that the Chile quake was expected to be MUCH larger.
I guess some experts still think they could get one quite a bit bigger than 8.0.
Which is mind boggling to me. Article said anywhere from today to 50 years from now, it could happen

What has been perturbing is that the Juan de Fuca always coughs n farts a bit when the west coast of SA is having sea-quakes.
Hopefully it will be small or is already over with. Yellowstone had people in quite a tizzy well before this Chile quake hit.

We've had some strange volcanic activity in our hemisphere for sure --
before the Chile quake, Bobd pointed out that a volcano (which had been erupting steadily) choked off for a couple hours before the big one.

Yellowstone caldera is also quite a large volcano, and who knows what's going on with that thing.
Not that it has anything to do directly with Chile and its own volcanoes,

but what if some factor that affects both regions of the earth is semi-responsible for this?
People have been talking a lot about the sun. and rocks going by.

Also anyone think Vanuatu will give off any steam before Juan de Fuca gets a big one?
I have no idea why it's so, but in spite of the distance across the Pacific, activity in Vanuatu often heralds changes in the PNW... strange!
