VA Death Toll Higher Than All Wars

    Virtual Suicide Factory

    By Gordon Duff, Senior Editor

American military veterans are dying in numbers unimagined. The numbers themselves are hidden from the public just like the waiting lists from the Department of Veterans Affairs. There is a reason for this, the two are related. Waiting lists, weeks or months for treatment for devastating and debilitating illnesses and conditions, destroyed records, “wiped” computers, SWAT teams with automatic weapons prowling the hallways of clinics, these are the real reasons vets kill themselves.

Most veterans who have chosen suicide have been abused and mistreated by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Some have been told that their illnesses or wounds are imaginary, others are shuffled into endless bureaucratic loops and most are subjected to the Kafkaesque disability compensation system where literally anything can happen and does.

Russia Today reports that veteran suicides in the US have topped 100,000. This isn’t “all vets” but only younger vets during the post 9/11 period. Many felt this number was outrageous but a careful statistical analysis of figures supplied by the Bureau of Census proved it to be low, perhaps 40% low.

The dilatants of the mainstream press, this being an election year, have mysteriously discovered that the Department of Veterans Affairs lies, cheat and steals. The CNN story, outlining schedule falsifications in Phoenix is, perhaps, the least offensive of hundreds of scandals the VA has been involved in since the beginning of time. However, to get the facts straight, the VA began murdering vets as a matter of policy under the “W” Bush administration.

They became experts at patient abuse, at shuffling patients, lying, bullying and “misplacing.” It is no accident. It is considered “conservative policy,” under the auspices of the American Enterprise Institute, Heritage Foundation and helped along by the sloth and corruption of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. These last two organizations, given broad oversight power over the VA, have chosen for decades to run their bars and bingo parlors and simply “look away.”

There would likely be no problems with veterans health care without the firm hand of the VSO’s at the helm, advising, using their power with congress and enjoying the powerful perks they are given across the nation, a free ride on the gravytrain, fat paychecks, extremist politics and, as with their history of working with veterans, a long reputation for incompetence, carelessness and corruption.

Corruption is a major part of everything that uses the word “veteran.” Most veterans charities are scams of one kind or another. Honoring “heroes” is now as it has always been, the bailiwick of scoundrels.

Looking here at Ohio, it isn’t difficult to see the pattern. Here in Lucas County, the local Veterans Service Commission gets millions of dollars a year that they can simply hand out to needy veterans. When you look at such organizations across the country, the amount of money this comes to is staggering.

Two years ago, I met with the county auditor to go over the records of the VSC after we had received complaints of irregularities. When we found three sets of tires bought for veterans, each coming to $1,200, on the same page we knew something was off. This is what Z rated tires for a $100,000 Mercedes, Land Rover or BMW special edition cost. Not many vets own these.

We also found that there weren’t really any records at all. As money is handed out “privately,” records are sealed. The accusations were that commissioners used this multi-million dollar fund as a private piggy bank, taking what they wanted knowing that they were protected, not just by the American Legion and VFW but by affiliated motorcycle clubs whose side interests paralleled other “outlaw” biker groups.

Last week, members of a veterans biker group, festooned in typical gang regalia, threatened a veteran’ activist and then threatened witnesses as well. Included in the gang were high ranking members of the same service organizations that help oversee the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Is the whole thing a racket?

For the past 7 years, groups affiliated with Veterans Today have protested the theft of veterans land in Los Angeles. In a recent court decision, the Department of Veterans Affairs was found to have illegally given land to private citizens and corporations. Rather than “clean house, ” former Sec. Shinseki appealed the court decision that exposed corruption in his own organization.

This is why he is gone. However, the appeal still stands and the VA has proven itself incapable of handling money, keeping records of doing anything that doesn’t parallel typical activities of a terrorist gang.

What has been proven? Based on my 44 years as a veteran, I have seen with amazing consistency behaviors that make me ashamed. It is only getting worse. The VA is doing more and more to cover its wrongdoing and nothing whatsoever to fix anything.

I am typically the last person to say things like this but the VA proves the government can’t manage anything, least of all health care.

The VA needs to be shut down, its hospitals boarded up, its clinics shut down and private insurance plans paid for by the people of the United States, the people who love sending the military out to fight useless wars, need to be purchased for all veterans based on need, degree of real disability and other factors normal human beings can agree on.

By “normal human beings,” we mean people who have never run for office or worked for government.

If you *have* to join the Forces, get a RELIGIOUS vaccine exemption (hard to argue w/ religion lol),
and don't take the ****ing pills if the doctor isn't giving out information on them.

Other than that just try not to let all the OTHER people dying/losing health get to you.

    cry!!

p.s. last October I wrote a pity-party letter to the local paper (the UB) about the VA services and the mental condition of the veterans. "For every one like me there are ten who are not surviving -- for every one like me there are ten who are dying".

I had no idea that this was no exaggeration at the time.

well, people who go to foreign countries and kill other people there are no heroes for me. what goes around comes around. from a spiritual perspective becoming a soldier is like playing with fire and hoping not to get burned. the environment is just not conducive to a positive development, and there are always repercussions later.

It's a "little" bit more than that...

... check this thread: Psych Drugs: The Real Weapons of Mass Destruction

... and one may understand what it really boils down to when taking this "little" info for what it is:

He said that he wrote the memo because benzoic acid was being added to the sodas and was the “petrochemical derivative” that was of concern. He said that it was a very useful chemical to feed populations in war zones because its heat caused metabolites which increased their risk of dying from wounds and dysentery. I asked him, if that is the case, then why was it being used in sodas given the troops. He looked at me like I was dense or naive. He said, “It is there to decrease VA hospital bills.” I said, “But that is absurd.” He said, “No, think about it. If a soldier is healthy, not much happens when he drinks the sodas. But if he gets seriously wounded then he is likely to get a wound infection. Then he will die from it and not be a long term burden on the VA with an amputated leg, say.”

PS: I was looking at some post but forgot where and in what subject it was, but "Aspartame" reacts in a similar way to heat to foster an equally toxic reaction as benzoic acid in a body

1980s: Amid indisputable research that reveals the toxic effects of aspartame and as then FDA commissioner Dr. Jere Goyan was about to sign a petition into law keeping it off the market, Donald Rumsfeld calls Ronald Reagan for a favor the day after he takes office. Reagan fires the uncooperative Goyan and appoints Dr. Arthur Hayes Hull to head the FDA, who then quickly tips the scales in Searle’s favor and NutraSweet is approved for human consumption in dried products. This becomes sadly ironic since Reagan, a known jelly bean and candy enthusiast, later suffers from Alzheimers during his second term, one of the many horrific effects of aspartame consumption.

Searle’s real goal though was to have aspartame approved as a soft drink sweetener since exhaustive studies revealed that at temperatures exceeding 85 degrees Fahrenheit, it “breaks down into known toxins Diketopiperazines (DKP), methyl (wood) alcohol, and formaldehyde.”(4), becoming many times deadlier than its powdered form!

The National Soft Drink Association (NSDA) is initially in an uproar, fearing future lawsuits from consumers permanently injured or killed by drinking the poison. When Searle is able to show that liquid aspartame, though incredibly deadly, is much more addictive than crack cocaine, the NSDA is convinced that skyrocketing profits from the sale of soft drinks laced with aspartame would easily offset any future liability. With that, corporate greed wins and the unsuspecting soft drink consumers pay for it with damaged healths.

Coke leads the way once again (remember saccharin?) and begins poisoning Diet Coke drinkers with aspartame in 1983. As expected, sales skyrocket as millions become hopelessly addicted and sickened by the sweet poison served in a can. The rest of the soft drink industry likes what it sees and quickly follows suit, conveniently forgetting all about their initial reservations that aspartame is a deadly chemical. There’s money to be made, lots of it and that’s all that really matters to them anyway!

In 1985, undaunted by the swirl of corruption and multiple accusations of fraudulent research undertaken by Searle, Monsanto purchases the company and forms a new aspartame subsidiary called NutraSweet Company. When multitudes of independent scientists and researchers continue to warn about aspartame’s toxic effects, Monsanto goes on the offensive, bribing the National Cancer Institute and providing their own fraudulent papers to get the NCI to claim that formaldehyde does not cause cancer so that aspartame can stay on the market.

The known effects of aspartame ingestion are: “mania, rage, violence, blindness, joint-pain, fatigue, weight-gain, chest-pain, coma, insomnia, numbness, depression, tinnitus, weakness, spasms, irritability, nausea, deafness, memory-loss, rashes, dizziness, headaches, seizures, anxiety, palpitations, fainting, cramps, diarrhoea, panic, burning in the mouth. Diseases triggered/mimmicked include diabetes, MS, lupus, epilepsy, Parkinson’s, tumours, miscarriage, infertility, fibromyalgia, infant death, Alzheimer’s… Source : U.S. Food & Drug Administration.(5)

So, as a matter of synchronicity:

The Soaring Profits of the Military-Industrial Complex, The Soaring Costs of Military Casualties

    By Prof. James Petras
    Global Research, June 24, 2014

    Introduction
There are two major beneficiaries of the two major wars launched by the US government: one domestic and one foreign. The three major domestic arms manufacturers, Lockheed Martin (LMT), Northrop Grumman (NOG) and Raytheon (RTN) have delivered record-shattering returns to their investors, CEOs and investment banks during the past decade and a half. The Israeli regime is the overwhelming foreign beneficiary of the war, expanding its territory through its dispossession of Palestinians and positioning itself as the regional hegemon. Israel benefited from the US invasion which destroyed Iraq, a major ally of the Palestinians; the invasion provided cover for massive Israel’s settler expansion in the Occupied Palestinian territories. In the course of its invasion and occupation Washington systematically destroyed Iraq’s armed forces and civil infrastructure, shredding its complex modern society and state. By doing so, the US occupation removed one of Israel’s major regional rivals.

In terms of cost to the United States, hundreds of thousands of soldiers who had served in the war zones have sustained severe physical and mental injuries, while thousands have died directly or indirectly through an epidemic of soldier suicides. The invasion and occupation of Iraq has cost the United States trillions of dollars and counting. Despite the immense costs to the American people, the military-industrial complex and the pro-Israel power configuration continue to keep the US government on a wartime economy – undermining the domestic social safety net and standard of living of many millions.

No peaceful economic activity can match the immense profits enjoyed by the military-industrial complex in war. This powerful lobby continues to press for new wars to sustain the Pentagon’s huge budget. As for the pro-Israel power configuration, any substantive diplomatic peace negotiations in the Middle East would end their naked land grabs, reduce or curtail new weapons transfers and undermine pretexts to sanction or attack countries, like Iran, that stand in the way of Tel Aviv’s vision of “Greater Israel”, unrivaled in the region.

The costs of almost 15 years of warfare weigh heavily on the US Treasury and electorate. The wars have been dismal failures if not outright defeats. New sectarian conflicts have emerged in Syria, Iraq and, now, Ukraine – opportunities for the US arms industry and the pro-Israel lobbies to make even greater profits and gain more power.

The on-going horrendous costs of past and continuing wars make the launch of new military interventions more difficult for US and Israeli militarists. The US public expresses wide-spread discontent over the burden of the recent past wars and shows even less stomach for new wars to profit the military-industrial complex and further strengthen Israel.

    War Profits
The power and influence of the military-industrial complex in promoting serial wars has resulted in extraordinary rates of profit. According to a recent study by Morgan Stanley (cited in Barron’s, 6/9/14, p. 19), shares in the major US arms manufacturers have risen 27,699% over the past fifty years versus 6,777% for the broader market. In the past three years alone, Raytheon has returned 124%, Northrup Grumman 114% and Lockheed Martin 149% to their investors.

The Obama regime makes a grand public show of reducing the military budget via the annual appropriation bill, and then, turns around and announces emergency supplemental funds to cover the costs of these wars. . .thereby actually increasing military spending, all the while waving the banner of ‘cost cutting’. Obama’s theatrics have fattened the profits for the US military-industrial complex.

War profits have soared with the series of military interventions in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. The arms industry lobbyists pressure Congressional and Pentagon decision-makers to link up with the pro-Israel lobby as it promotes even deeper direct US military involvement in Syria, Iraq and Iran. The growing ties between Israeli and US military industries reinforce their political leverage in Washington by working with liberal interventionists and neo-conservatives. They attack Obama for not bombing Syria and for his withdrawal of troops from Iraq and Afghanistan. They now clamor for sending US troops back to Iraq and call for intervention in Ukraine. Obama has argued that proxy wars without direct US troop involvement do not require such heavy Pentagon expenditures as the arms industry demands. The Obama regime has presented the withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan as a necessary step to reduce US financial and military losses. This was in response to Wall Street’s pressure to cut the budget deficit. Obama’s attempt to meet the demands of the US financial sector has come at the price of cutting potential profit for the military industrial complex as well as infuriating Israel and its fanatical supporters in the US Congress.

The Fight over the Military Budget: Veterans versus the Complex and the Lobby
In the face of rising domestic pressure to reduce the budget deficit and cut military spending, the US military-industrial complex and its Zionist accomplices are fighting to retain their share by eliminating programs designed to serve the health needs of active and retired soldiers. Soaring disability costs related to the recent wars will continue for decades. Veteran health care costs are expected to double to 15% of the defense budget in the next five years. The huge public cost of caring for soldiers and veterans means “bad news for defense stocks” according to financial analysts (Barron’s, 6/9/14, p. 19).

This is reason why the arms industries promote the closure of scores of Veterans Administration hospitals and a reduction in retiree benefits, using the pretext of fighting fraud, incompetence and poor quality service compared with the ‘private sector’. The same corporate warlords and lobbyists who clamor to send US troops to back to Iraq and to new wars in Syria and Ukraine, where young lives, limbs and sanity are at great risk, are also in the forefront of a fight to slash funding for the veterans’ medical care. Economists have long noted that the more dollars spent on veterans’ and military retirees’ health care, the less allocated for war materials, ships and aircraft. Today it is estimated that over $900 billion dollars will have been spent on long-term VA medical and disability services for veterans of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. That number is clearly set to rise with each new intervention.

The corporate warlords are urging Congress to increase co-pays, enrollment fees and deductibles for veterans, retirees and active duty personnel enrolled in military health insurance plans, such as Tricare, as well as limiting access to the VA.

The fight over Pentagon expenditures is a struggle over war or social justice: health services for troops and veterans versus weapons programs that fatten corporate profits for the arms industry.
