Default So why the name change?

Hi friends... I have been asked this of late and so I figured I better come clean.

A month or so back I finally admitted the truth to myself. I am a lesbian trapped in a male body.

"justoneman" was dishonest so I dropped the 'man' part.
All the above is all and only my opinion - all subject to change and not meant to be true for anyone else regardless of how I phrase it.

I knew it! Not the specific reason mind you, but I was inclined to jibe "You're not a man anymore?" and it seems I was thinking correctly. ^_~

I could never presume to understand the journey that you walk. To do so, would be disingenuous. So please forgive my empathetic ignorance as I process this post and attempt to understand...

You were 'JustOneMan'. You have now dropped the "man".

You say that you are a lesbian trapped in a man's body.

A lesbian is is defined as a female with sexual attraction to females.

You suggest that you are a female but that you have male body parts. Could you possibly be a transexual? (please remember these are just labels)....
    Definition:
a person who emotionally and psychologically feels that they belong to the opposite sex.
    synonyms: hermaphrodite, androgyne, epicene, intersex, transgendered person;

Sexuality is so complex. There are times when I have felt more like a man with my husband than a woman and have wanted to possess him as a man would and he has admitted that he would like to have lesbian sex with me. That said, I am a "girly girl" on the surface and embrace feminine trappings and would not want to be male. My husband is also incredibly "masculine". It is funny though. Once sexually satiated, we tend to return to more of a stasis, and are beloved companions. The stuff that really matters...

The reality is this: gender is determined at conception. There are however, a multitude of hormonal and external influences that can alter that assignment in vitro, let alone all of the societal pressures that shape our identity after birth.

We incarnate into lifetimes as males and as females. Our spirit knows no difference and it truly is that little "y" chromosome that makes the difference in manifestation. A clitoris is but a penis without the proper hormonal/chromosomal balance and vice versa. Our bodies are just vessels for our spirits.

Could you take comfort in the knowledge that you are eternal consciousness having a human experience, sometimes as a physical female and sometimes as a physical male, yet with the understanding that these "roles" mean nothing other than the manufactured responsibilities that accompany either assignment?

What you are, in this vortex, in this moment in time, is perfection. Be at peace with that. You are a loved and valued being and you do not need to fret over your hardware. You are you and you are, in all of your glory and frailty, unique. Just be you. Love who you will, do as you wish as long as you harm no other and please do not stress over your "role". It is all a facade. When the game is over and we all convene, we will glory in the insanity of this hologram. In the interim, remember that you are neither male or female. You simply are. How glorious!

Great reply AriG, I find the whole situ complex and at times confusing and am not a great lover of what hormones can do to a normally functioning body.

This is how I understand it. There is gender and then, there is polarity. We all have gender. We all also have two polarities within us, masculine and feminine. Sometimes our polarities are balanced within ourselves. Often they become out of whack and we have to do spiritual work in order to re-balance them. This work can take a lifetime.

Sometimes our polarities don't or won't balance no matter what is done. In that case we end up with men that are strongly male and women that are strongly female and that becomes that person's individual balance. When a male is polarized to the female or a female is polarized to a male polarity and the polarities won't balance, the male is strongly female and the female is strongly male. Many of these people have tried and failed to balance their polarities leading to a lifetime of misery in trying to fit into a mold within society as we know it.

The Native Americans called these people two spirits. They were considered to be an honored and accepted part of the circle. I was shown that today there are many two spirits walking the earth, an increase from previous times. Their souls are here to show the rest of us a new way that free of judgment. Our internal polarities are not connected to our genders. Thanks justone!

I have never understood why sexual preference matters to anyone except the person who owns that sexuality.

These labels are the product of politicians who want to divide us into groups to make us choose sides, they are essentially saying to us, if you belong to this group you should side with me and vote for me.

The media labels us to sell their products, the more outrageous and the more labels they can attach to a story the more we read, watch or click!

I think using labels is a disservice to ourselves and society in general. Try going without them for month, it is not that hard.

Default Re: So why the name change?

A dear friend of mine who passed away a few years ago always referred to himself as a lesbian trapped in a man's body. In his case, he really did feel trapped!

He was a remarkable man: intellectual, philosopher, poet, visual artist, humanitarian, feminist, and more than anything, a loving, caring, empathetic person.

He had memories of having a vagina (past lives) but also being frightened of interactions with a penis. He didn't hate his own penis, but strongly related to women who have been subjected to the penis being used as a weapon for rape, subjugation, abuse, misuse, etc., and sometimes felt ashamed that he was a man. I found all of this rather confusing since he was so highly intelligent and yet so very troubled. He died without ever figuring out why he felt as he did. For me, it was all causes of past life memories which have gone un-retrieved and unresolved.

Whatever your reasons for feeling as you do, I hope you do not feel "trapped". You have always sounded like a sexually liberated person so I think you feel quite well in your own body, at least, sexually speaking.

Anyhow, you've always had courage in revealing your experiences, thoughts, feelings, and this is good.

I hope your revelation about how you feel, gender wise, serves in making you feel freer than before.

    With love,

    DoT

I'll second that Flash, mwaaa's and hugs.

I will also add, how much I greatly admire your quest for understanding justone.

I tried to explain a concept of gender balance to a friend but words often fail, and unfortunately for a few thousand years we seem to have been herded in a direction which, .... well one that foments dissent.

We all are both, two beautiful halves of a circle, awesome huh? Chemistry six weeks after conception dictates which half will physically manifest and which half will wait in the wings.

I can see that already I am struggling with the words but the androgyne found a way to manifest in this world of polarity and we seek in others our unmanifest part.

Jung got a good grasp with his Anima/Animus, still it does not have adequate words. Sadly in the patriarchial led world of control, the divine feminine struggles for recognition. And in saying this I am talking about both men and wo=men equally, the chalice and the blade, one is not whole without the other. The left and right brain in justone whole.

much love to you in your quest Justone, I wanted to say I think I get what you are saying.
